If it's any comfort, I have a bunch of shoes with crepe soles from Clark's amongst others, and they all show this initial wear pretty quickly, especially since I walk a bit crocked, always wearing down the outer part of my heels first. However, after a few wears they stop wearing down and stay as they are, I've had mine for years now. I don't think you have to be to precious with them :)
The hint is in the term Desert Boot. They weren't designed for walking on concrete or anything other than sand. That's why other chukka boots are more suitable for everyday wear and opt for a dainite rubber sole.
This is such a great CZcams channel. You do tons of research and your connections are awesome. Keep up the good work.
All this spectre stuff is so exciting!
Great job, David. As always.
Steve McQueen wore these in Bullitt and the Thomas Crowne Affair. I have several pair in different colors. Gold, Burgundy, Blue, Black leather and suede. There extremely comfortable and feel even better than sneakers. The brand names I own are Original Britishers and Rocker, but I have seen Clark's available in the stores.
I love your opening . So cool
I just ordered my Sanders and I can't wait until they get here. thank you for the warning about the heel wear. Just bought rubber heel protectors and E6000 glue which I hope keep up with the wear-down.
Great effort as always David! T'was marvelous
Please keep making these videos! Thanks David!
An interesting video as you nailed my key concern about those shoes. I have a pair of Red Wing Moc 1907 boots which are (once I had broken in the back of the boot) massively comfortable but they have worn down dramatically on the heel. Fortunately the Red Wings can be resoled but I need to do some research onto Sanders. Thanks for the vid.
Hi David, keep whit the great job !!
I got my Sanders a wee ago and are excellent ,must say i did not have a problem whit the sole, thanks for advising whit size
Hi David! Long time subscriber. Just curious, how did these boots hold up after all?
good job david
Nice video David! The other problem with the boots which makes the sole problem worse is the lack of Goodyear welting.
Love your videos keep up the great work!

Hi David ... How did the crepe soles work out over time ? Did they rub down further ? Are you happy or not with the purchase? Thanks .. Really admire all you content .
Steve McQueen las botas que lleva en la fotografía son del fabricante Hutton. Fijaros en el cosido de la parte de atrás de la bota.
How has it held up since this video?
David, thank you for building such a well connected web for the fans to experience the brands being used. What was that Steve McQueen photo book that you had?

David, I would consider adding a heel tap to reduce the damage to the heel. It's terrible that there has been such damage to the heel and I think having either a molded plastic or thin wooden heel tap would significantly improve how these wear.
McQueen's boots were actually Hutton's Original Playboys, not Sanders. Google Sartorially Inclined: Bullit Boots
What's the shirt you are wearing?
They remind me a lot of my Converse Jack Purcell from Casino Royale
Hey David! How have these weathered in the last 7 years?
It would be nice if you made a review video of the Ryder III desert boot. There’s hardly anything about them on CZcams. Thanks.
Will absolutely consider it....anything is on the table... :)
The Ryder III is fantastic. Looking forward to pulling mine out again soon when it cools down. For half the cost, these Sanders are great everyday shoes.
does any one know the boot huggs the ankles or is there a gap
I've yet to wear a less comfortable boot than sanders. Mine must have been made on a Friday afternoon when the workers wanted to get to the pub. No way McQueen wore these unless they were markedly different back in '68.
I bought some 'lookalike' Playboy chukkas by the company called Rockers. They are leather and look exactly like the really expensive versions, but only cost around 50 bucks. Amazon and Ebay have them.
DO NOT GO A HALF SIZE UP I did on my pair and they are way to big. I would say stay true to size
I went half size up and they still fitted tight. Been thinking of going 1 full size up.
Hey David, can you tell me if the Church's chukka boot of QOS are better than the Sanders? Are the Church's better worth the money than Sanders? Because I found the price of the Church's Ryder III 316.67 pounds! Which is double compared to the Sanders :/
jedi666sith have a look at the thrusday boots . So much better .
When did Bond use Thursday boots?
@@davidcoleman2463 Can I have whatever drugs you are snorting, please? They are clearly very hard.
The Church’s have a more durable build and sole. Different type of boot though.
been wanting these for mos....loooove them...... that wear after 1 wearing????....cmon that is totally an epic fail for these!...did u reach out to sanders at all?.......oh, dont rest your rt foot on the clutch when driving....put it on dead pedal.
So have the soles stopped wearing down after a while?
I'd also like to know?
I stopped wearing them because they kept wearing away...
I have worn mine several times over the last few years and they have worn well. Still plenty of crepe left.:)
I normally wear a size US 11, and ordered these in UK 10, but they are pretty tight on my toes. I’m thinking about selling these but not really sure how much to size up.
u needed a uk 11....
I really like this james bond show but it seems a lot more about Daniel Craig than any of the other bonds which isn't bad but I'd like to see more Connery and Roger Moore ... not brosanan though 😂
I would send it back if it wore like that. That's to expensive of a boot to be doing that.
These were called Original Playboys also mad in England......not Sanders
yessssss!
How come you drive a Porsche. James Bond never drove a Porsche, J/K!
Hey David! How have these weathered in the last 7 years?
