I was once told by a friend that the Rotax engines are the most powerful engines pound for pound. I don't know if that is true, but they do use a lot of them on things like ultralight aircraft and powered parachutes and a wide variety of very small and very light aircraft. If someone knows if that is true or not I would love to know if my friend was right or just talking of his butthole. I'm always listening and learning and I'm 60 years old. I believe what my Dad always said, that a person is never too old to learn. That is a great looking sand machine and it seems to have plenty of power.
@@LuccianoNova I knew someone out there would know the truth about the Rotax engines. I really didn't even know if they are made of aluminum, titanium or some kind of other materials. That title said something like a 975 Rotax, were they referring to the CC's of the engines size ? I'm pretty sure they aren't referring to the horse power of the engine, HAHAHA LMAO I'm not that dang stupid yet. Thanks for kinda clearing up some of my questions.
@@mikeh.753 Not fimiliar with the 975 but yes it's going by CC. Theyre known for light aircraft engines. They also made engines for seadoo. They're definitely top of the line when it comes too engines with 4cyl or less.

I can't help but wonder if they ever put them in a motorcycle frame.. high horsepower and very light weight would be quite desirable in a motorcycle or ATV maybe even in a go cart. I can't remember if you mentioned the cost of a Rotax, but I'm guessing they are manufactured from some expensive alloy's to keep the weight down so they are going to be expensive. Oh and if they are used in aircraft that pretty much says that the Rotax engines are very reliable. Can't just pull to the side of the road when you are at a few thousand feet in the air HAHAHA LOL. Yall will hate me for this comment, but I've been riding the Little Sahara dunes in central Utah on a dirtbike, and when I looked up the Glamis hills I honestly expected them to be bigger. Sand Mountain at Little Sahara is on par with Glamis apparently!
Yeah they aren't very tall 300' at best and even that is shrinking. Where Glamis has it over Little Sahara is in over all riding area at better than twice that of Little Sahara. The sheer mass of people that ride Glamis every year is wearing them down. Check out Glamis footage from 40 years ago and the difference is obvious. Olds was much taller with way less whoops out and comp hill was a lot taller, now it's just a nub of what it once was. I often though if I ever won a lottery I would rent a bunch of sand cats and push the sand back up the hills in glamis just to mess with everybody!
The only problem with Jericho is that it's only really good for dirt bikes. All the dunes other than Sand Mountain are small and sharp with lots of drop offs. Hard to ride quads and even side by sides there.
damn looks like a beast. how much hp does the rotax engine put out, i got a 660 and when it blows im replacing it with the rotax. dont u need a conversion kit?

Well if you look at the power to weight ration you'll see it blows most engines away.

2 strokes are more powerful pound for pound due to not having added weight of valves and camshaft witch taxes power off the crankshaft.

Nothing compares to Little Sahara's Sand mountain ' not In the US anyway
Idk I disagree I just watched a video of sand mountain little Sahara and it doesn’t even look remotely as crazy as this hill right here.
