When had they depicted Floch as a monster? He has clearly shown tyrant ideals, but the show has shown his humanity as well, when he says that they're protecting the Island they're not told to be in the wrong in any way.
This is the antithesis between the haters of AoT, the side that says that the show promotes fascism and the ones like you who say that the actual good guys are being portrayed as monsters. Which is it? It can be both, two contradictory arguments. The real answer is that both arguments have their own self-proclaimed narrative.

MAPPA really put their all into this episode. Floch rallying up his troops with a speech about how if they lose now, their comrades dreams will be in vain, everyone will be lost, and telling them to fight. Being willing to stand on the front lines until the very end and failing when he's merely a hair from his goal. Just like Erwin. He had to become like the Devils he always admired. For Eren. And with that sheer determination of all of Eldia riding on his shoulders, he charged at the Jaw Titan(known for its speed), Hange(one of the highly trained veteran soldiers, AND Pieck(another extremely fast titan) AND he outmaneuvered ALL OF THEM and almost took down the ship. Even with the odds stacked against him, he still fought.
The Alliance says that their fallen comrades would never agree with what Eren plans to do.
Floch says he's following what Eren wants to do BECAUSE of their fallen comrades.

What I dislike most about the ending is that there were no consequences of bad actions. When the Eldians do something questionable or something that might be viewed by most AOT fanbase to be bad, we see them facing the consequences of their actions. For example, the attack on Liberio, where Sasha was killed and they dared to blame Eren for it; despite the fact that he gave them the Warhammer titan, and killed the Marleyan military leaders. While when Marley does anything bad to Eldians, as they have been doing since the beginning of the series, they rarely face any consequences. SPOILER...
Annie is a very very horrible person who killed countless of innocent people and she never apologized for it, unlike Reiner who apologized to them many times. Regardless of that, she happily got to meet her father (not to forget that she was partially responsible for Eren's death, because she summoned the regular titans Shiganshina when Bertholdt broke the gate).

Hange and the old government had 4 years…4 YEARS TO PLAN AN ALTERNATIVE. And came with nothing, and because of that Eren had to step up and do what had to be done. Mikasa as a character seems to just be going through a stupid teen rebellious phase where she wants to prove Eren that she has free will, so now instead of protecting her home and her people she’s like “See Eren, I’m not controlled by you! I bet protecting the island is what you wanted me to do! So ya know what? Imma kill my own people and help the people who want us dead! HA, see Eren you don’t control me!”. If Eren got fed to Historia, then she would be influenced by the kings will and will do nothing to save the island from the rest of the world. So by Levi deleting Kenny's squad, he was saving the island from that path. Mikasa on the other hand knows that by stopping Eren, she dooms the island and still does it anyway. I think one of the most annoying things about the end of the manga is how it feels like the story forgets who the "bad guys" were. (I know war is morally gray, but the rumbling was entirely the result of the rest of the world trying to kill the Eldians once and for all). Aside from Niccolo and Magath, none of the non-eldians outside the walls have a change of heart. If the manga had shown a regular Marleyan standing in crowd when the alliance showed up being like "I thought they were devils, why are they helping us?" That could have been enough to convince me. But instead we get just the warrior's families and friends. Even in the epilouge, the alliance is more worried about the Jaegerists than the rest of the world retaliating.
On top of all of that, Mikasa and the others are killing their own commrades to save Reiner, Pieck, and Annie's families. But if Eren didn't do the rumbling and let the rest of the world attack Paradise? Those three wouldn't have tried to do anything to stop it. Because they're used to killing innocents on behalf of Marley. Falco and maybe an unbrainwashed Gabi are the only ones I could see joining the side of Paradise in that situation.

Zeke's plan for obvious reasons, 50 year plan: Kyomi only wanted resources and wouldn't introduce them to other countries and sacrifice Historia and repeat children eating their parents thing all over again. My personal theory, which will be absolutely obliterated if there is an AoE mind you, is that Isayama fully intended Eren to be the extremist yet lose at 80% rumbling because of something more consistent than Lelouch Plan (blindsided by his friends or maybe making a split second choice to die when seeing the alternatives with Founding power), but because he realized that would really make a character readers followed since chapter 1 feel irredeemable to some (Genocide bad) while a justified extremist to others (which would be controversial) he kinda weaseled out and created Lelouch Plan.

I felt absolutely nothing this episode. The suspension of disbelief is beyond destroyed. The basis for this bloodshed is entirely unjustified in the first place. The inconsistent and awful writing has entirely taken me out of the story. What is the objective of the Yeagerists at the port? If the Azumabito were held captive, they could simply rebuild new planes, post-Rumbling. Why does Floch take the risk of keeping the plane intact? As he tells Kiyomi, planes aren't entirely that important. The threat of the outside world is negligable post-Rumbling. Why doesn't Daz or Samuel explode the plane by shooting the explosives? The switch isn't necessary. A bullet would spark the TNT. Why not send a small team to destroy the plane while keeping the Azumabito safe in Shiganshina? It seems that this situation is purely devised to perfectly justify how the Alliance can catch up to Eren. But how does the Alliance reach Odiha? Wouldn't they cross the Rumbling if they were to reach Odiha before the Colossal titans? How would they survive the mass titan steam from hundreds of Colossals? Why do all of the Yeagerists have horrible aim? They're all trained by the military? Then Magath, Jean, and Gabi never miss a shot? How does Gabi's shot stop Floch's already aimed thunder spear (his arm is already down)? Why are the Yeagerists on the other roofs watching Mikasa and Connie massacre their allies? How does Connie kill 8 Yeagerists before one can throw a single thunder spear at Annie or Reiner's defenseless titans. How does not one stray bullet hit any of the Alliance or Azumabito? How does Shadis reach the train? He was surrounded by Yeagerists at the Fort in Shiganshina in ch.125 with no ODM gear. Surely, the Yeagerists would imprison or execute Shadis? I could go on and on. Isayama is completely unconvincing in his execution.

Like not with Daz and Samuel for the sake of one ep. He introduced yelena, most of the warrios, etc all in s4 and they've been written rlly good for the most part, so why not make sympathetic characters in the jeagarists? The ones that join to ensure the safety of their family n all that. They actually have something to care about instead of the mostly orphan alliance that don't give a damn about paradis's survival. I do care for every one of those npcs that got massacred by the alliance but most of the audience are just like "fck them, they're cruel xenophobics and fascistss" because they don't know more about them. only floch is an actual sympathetic character that had proper development since s3 but even he is despised by most fans..

Honestly I’ve read so many comments saying, “Eren shouldn’t do genocide it’s wrong, it should’ve never been an option” , but what other options did he have. The whole world hates Eldians and wants them wiped off the face of the planet. Did you want him just to sit back and watch all his people and his close friends die as well? It seems like those people would’ve rather Eren just side with the rest of the world to wipe eldians out or do it himself and just rumble the island instead. It just doesn’t seem like those people would be happy with any decision chosen by Eren at this point.
I’m obviously on Eren’s side and yes he is being VERY extreme but I just can’t betray him now. I’m not really on the Yeagerists side (Flochs side) since he has become power hungry but I respect that he actually cares for his people and isn’t backing down like a coward. I also don’t think all of the Yeagerists are like Floch in the sense that he wants to rebuild the Eldian Empire, but most have just been pressured to follow his narrative because they know it’s the only way for their survival. So I don’t blame Floch and their decision to want to live and defend the only chance of their survival.
Also they had 4 years to plan something, and they only came up with one plan? How did they not come up with multiple plans to defend the island or make peace/alliances with other countries that were against Marley? It just doesn’t seem realistic to me, they should’ve been more urgent and proactive. You’d think Armin, whose supposedly a genius strategist/planner, would come up with something, but he didn’t. They really dumbed him down.
I probably would’ve used the Rumbling as a last resort, I would’ve been more proactive in making plans to save my people by others means such as using the islands natural resources as a bargaining chip to form alliances with other countries that opposed Marley. Like the middle eastern coalition that was fighting Marley in a war at the beginning of this season. Join them, help them push back Marley, which in return deters the invasion of Paradise for awhile longer so that Paradise can develop enough to be able to defend itself from such invasion. They could’ve also used Mikasa’s status of being a princes of some sort and natural resources as a way to sway the Azimobitos (I don’t know if that’s how you spell it) to allow refuge for all women and children at least.
Anyways the story has really got me fucked up and feeling uneasy, especially after the latest episode

We can thank Isayama's BAD WRITING for all the sh& we have to endure. Especially the whole fight between alliance and Jeagerist, it was a total *asspull* ! How ? Well we have just a few measly people going up against a freaking army of trained soldiers equiped way more powerful weapons ! And yet they somehow won... What in the actual- !? No matter how I see it, they should have lost ! For some reason, the Jeagerist soldiers have storm trooper aim all the sudden, but alliance have aimbot instead(I'm looking at you, Gabitch.). Like, there's dynamites attached on the Flying Boat ! All it takes is one simple bullet to hit those dynamites and boom ! The plane and the ship is destroyed, the Jeagerist should have won ! But nope, Isayama granted everyone in the alliance Reiner's Plot armor and nerfed the poor Jeagerist soldiers into storm troopers ! And the most frustrating thing is that, how can Mikasa, Connie, Jean forgive Gabi so easily!? One moment, Connie is thinking of feeding Eren to his mom just because Eren laughed when Sasha died ! And yet now the actual murderer of Sasha is in front of him, he's ok with her !? Come on, Yams ! Here's the thing, Isayama is trying very hard to force us the viewers to like Gabi and hate Floch. But guess what ? I don't like being forced ! So I hate Gabi more than ever while I am now practically worshipping King Floch. Great job, Isayama... What a masterpiece of a story you wrote. **Slow Clap**

Mikasa is nothing like Levi. Levi has never been about having a goal (besides fulfilling his promise to Erwin about killing Zeke). And that's his only goal just because of his loyalty to Erwin. Other than that, his entire life has just been about him following the wave and seeing where it takes him.
I don't even think Levi necessarily completely disagrees with Erens plan, but he's with the alliance because Erens plan disrupts the status quo too much for Levi. Remember, Levi never cared all that much about going outside the walls. He was always just following Erwin's lead. To see past the walls was Erwin's dream. Not Levi's. Levi has never had strong views or outlooks on anything. His mindset was always "if it happens, it happens" from the get-go. Even down to the coup in season 3, Levi would have never acted if Erwin never instigated.
Mikasa on the other hand, has done a complete 180 for her character. All of a sudden she's an independent person with strong views on things? Get the fuck out of here. Mikasa was always a 2D character AND IT WORKED. Now they're just trying to turn her into something she's not for the sake of "development". It would have been a WAY better dynamic if Mikasa was still supporting Eren and a was a jeagerist, but she also didn't agree with what he was doing either. But she still had to do what he says and protect him because it's in her blood.

If Ramzi didnt know that you know eren and the gang were eldians he probably would have turned against them. And like the dumb arguement that 'Paradise would get ruined because of a civil war'. Not only is that stupid but it would be more accurate for the OTHER side.
Imagine if Paradise island was destroyed right and are the people of paradise are dead. Technology has outgrown the power of the titans and aside from the founding Titan which btw they wouldn't have anymore cause again this scenario eren and Zeke would be dead.
The eldians still living would be doomed like Pieck said. Once the world no longer has use for eldians they are going to be slaughtered like animals.
It's not just the eldians that Marley is racist towards or vice versa. The whole point of Willy Tybur's speech was to unite the world against Paradise and because the other nations are hostile as well. The people from the middle east are shown to hate Marley and vice versa. At the party thing there are people gossiping about Marley's food.
Even when Marley wins Isayama intentionally added the fact that other nations are praising the middle east and not Marley.
Once Paradise is gone does everyone think it's also going to end 100% well for the other side as well?
You get what I mean right?

I find it just so strange. In our world, on earth, there are countries that warred for thousands of years and in LESS than 100 years have forgiven each other and are allies. The eldians left the world alone for 100 years, which is a long ass time let’s be real here. And the marleyans STILL persisted. Nah, so many Marleyan apologists, sympathizers basically telling the world to lay down and die if they have to… fucked in the head.

Everything is this episode could have been avoided if the alliance just rode on the cart titan to get to the port faster instead of camping out and talking about their feelings. Also Armin was so big on talking to your enemies before fighting but he didn't even try to talk to the Yeagerists to try to get them to understand why they're trying to stop Eren. And Armin could have easily transformed and grabbed all the Yeagerists and put them in a makeshift jail instead of killing people that are mostly just defending themselves at this point.

What was more offensive than this was that everyone Levi included just seems to forget all about all the pain, suffering and death that Annie brought upon them in her Titan form.

Because now me myself I’m analyzing everything, but you really gave me a different point of view of the show.

Isayama screwed the pooch when he made Connie, Jean, Mikasa, and Armin (a group of combat veterans who have seen first hand how evil and racist the rest of the world is, have seen their loved ones murdered in terrorist attacks, and have fought to defend their right to live for years) straight up betray their nation.
You will never convince me that people like that would ever do something so insufferably stupid.

They could've shot a barrage of rockets at the people who worked worked the ship too! Instead, they aimed at the cart titan. They would've destroyed the boat with all that effort.
And are all the yeagerist NPCs on recruit mode? You're telling me not even Connie caught atleast one bullet? The cringvengers are so skilled, that even the best of the yeagerist are inept invalids?

@@jairesemccoy9779 What is the objective of the Yeagerists at the port?
ow does Shadis reach the train? He was surrounded by Yeagerists at the Fort in Shiganshina in ch.125 with no ODM gear. Surely, the Yeagerists would imprison or execute Shadis?
I could go on and on. Isayama is completely unconvincing in his execution.

Honestly, I think Isayama made a HUGE mistake by writing post-timeksip Floch with such a "performative" personality. For the general audience, any real arguments he makes about Eldia and the utmost care he takes in protecting its people are overshadowed by his comically evil smiles every damn time he takes a key action for Paradis. Why write the only other face of the Jaegerist perspective like he's a moustache-twirling villain?! It's almost like he is specifically this way to skew the audience's perspective toward the Alliance. As if their argument was too weak for it to speak for itself...

Every time he did some creepy smile or just did some uncalled for shit for no reason, it just made root for him more because he was so interesting to watch on screen. I get what you're saying though. But I also like how Floch is the way he is. After all, when he gives his speeches, his face may look crazy but what he's speaking is straight facts.
