Dallas Police swear in 12 new officers as push to recruit continues

The department's goal is to hire 250 officers in 2024. It's a tall task as departments use unique incentive packages to lure officers to their respective cities.

It's a good first step. Although, I would scrutinize laterals more than fresh recruits. Many of those laterals have baggage and present potential liability.

I especially like the idea of the "police training academy". Texas seems to be ahead of everything these days in doing good things for not only Texas but as leadership for others.
