      Everything he said was on the nose. I'm sure that his segment was planned obviously, and perhaps Tony had an inkling of what MJF was going to say, but it wouldn't surprise me if MJF went beyond what was agreed to and obviously, all the sentiments he expressed are legitimate and founded in reality and, work or shoot, make AEW look really bad.
      The only part of it that seemed to be a work is the fact that MJF was given TV time, which is apparent since he was advertised. Everything else was a shoot.

      Same here! That promo was special and proved without any doubt that MJF loves his profession and takes it more seriously than a considerable number of his peers. This is a watershed moment in his career that should cement him as the best talent in wrestling. He’s everything a promotion wants or needs in a top draw. From my point of view, it was like watching Ric Flair or Terry Funk at their peak intensity cutting a promo. Me personally, I think Cody Rhodes is going to serve as the bridge to bring AEW guys to WWE. Cody wanted more money because he saw how much money Tony gave to CM Punk and other ex-WWE guys including the ones who can't wrestle anymore like Paul Wight(Big Show) and Mark Henry. He was denied the money and he left. This opened the door for others like MJF, who feel like they deserve more money to ask for more money. If they don't get it it, they will go through the door Cody opened for them.

I think when fans like someone they automatically conflate that with them being a star, draw, or a lot of times underused. It's not a knock on MJF or any wrestler because he damn sure influences PPV and merchandise. To be honest, it reminded me a lot (yet also different) like the Punk WWE "pipebomb". I seriously can't decide if it's a complete shoot; a complete (excellent) work; or both. I mean... Just like Punk's pipebomb, they did finally cut off MJF's mic. BUT... The person who operates the censor button, just "happened" to know EXACTLY when and for how long to censor his cussing? I thought Dynamite airs live, but maybe I am wrong about that. I know that all the other shows are pre-taped......Then there's the fact that if tonight's MJF rant/promo was 100% a shoot, logically why didn't they cut his mic just a few seconds into it? Instead, they let it go on and on and on. I don't know. Maybe after watching this stuff for 4 decades, this retired senior citizen just doesn't understand wrestling anymore.😁

      @bainbridgeomega Před 2 lety +4

      @@Clubber-Slang I think that it's a bad case of people on social media wanting to live vicariously through the lives of others. In this case, the wrestlers and the owners of said companies. There are those that hate aew simply because aew takes shots at wwe and they prefer wrestlers and characters which are bigger, larger than life, Hollywood good looks, etc. Plus these are people who watched wwe since they were 1 years old... the nostalgia is strong with a lot of them. And they see have Vince overcame the odds and defeated wcw back in the day and feel like history is going to repeat itself to the point that they are rooting for aews demise so that they can "stick" it to those who don't feel the same way...
      For aew fans, it's different. Aew fans grew up watching wwe and although they loved what wwe has done in the past, they failed to deliver that same spark that they had during the attitude era. They feel that the WWE no longer caters to the fans anymore, but rather care more towards their investors than anything else. The wwe became "too corporate" Any one who works in a corporate setting usually hates the cutthroat environment that comes into running such a company. They changed the ratings to PG, and everything became kid friendly and outdated in terms of pop culture. The wrestling moves felt Bland, safe, and cartoony and it bores them. So they venture out to different indy organizations,.see how those wrestlers perform and it's crazy stunts, ultra violent, swearing, but at the same.time show respect to the fans and their craft. New Japan treat it as sports based as possible. And overtime when aew took over, not only is it another alternative to the WWE for fans to.watch, it became a new home to those who.felt.micromanaged in the WWE. Some were fired not because they suck, but because creative Over there sucks... they hate how they can just be fired without any emphasis on how they would support their families and what not. Remember, a lot of regular people with regular jobs were laid off during the pandemic while their bosses and higher ups get bonuses. Kinda like thr wwe. AEW is the anti corporate, anti authority who sees that the business practices that the WWE conducts isn't right. And they judge those fans who still support it as "e drones" or rather, those who are brainwashed by the WWE marketing machine. Sorry that this is long, but you get the drift

The Fed has cut a ton of wrestlers (most in their mid to late 30’s) they weren’t really using and AEW chomped at the bit on a bunch of them. Throwing money at worthless, old, WWE rejects seems to have caused Tony to not renew some of his “homegrown” talent, and frustrated some that feel under-compensated. That was absolutely Vince’s plan, getting Cody and now possibly MJF is probably a much better result than Vince was hoping for. You know he’s still pissed they didn’t bite on Rotunda though.

    His new promo is a rip off of CM Punk's pipe bomb before he left WWE.

    If MJF is making less than Adam Cole, Malakai Black or Keith Lee, I'd be pissed too. Plus they haven't had him sniff anywhere near a title despite being one of the best things on the show for over a year.

      He is to get a title run soon. Somewhere in-between punk is to turn heel then wardlow will build up further after MJF to fued with punk then punk will eventually put him over after a lengthy run similar to his 400+ title run. Sounds familiar?

      @@royalty843 did you just Assume that they (AEW) is gonna have Punk hold onto the title for a year? Then eventually, Wardlow gets to have a world title match and win?
      Then, after all that, MJF? Why would MJF wanna wait around that long to sniff a world title?

      @@royalty843 Not really. Punk lost the title to WWE biggest crossover star so he could do a rematch of WWE's biggest ever PPV's main event. Here he is losing to one of two guys no one outside out our bubble has heard of. Its also not in WWE, so it's not really going to get a lot of mainstream attention.
