I just wanted to congratulate you on how you structured the video and how you showed that installing G.A.M.M.A. really isn't an impossible task, you just have to put in five minutes of reading. You even explained how to update (I literally rewrote the whole procedure from scratch making it more understandable literally three days ago) and you even explained what to do if you have problems with the "Large Files" zip file! Our helpers are your fans (they told me to tell you) and so am I, you did an amazing and flawless job, we are speechless. I added your video to the top of the how-to-install channel, thanks to you, from today, people will have no more excuses for not upgrading Anomaly to version 1.5.2., or for having Anomaly and GAMMA inside one single folder, and I could go on and on hahahah The only note (which in truth is a nitpick, not even a real problem, professional deformation) is that it is not absolutely necessary to call the folders "GAMMA ANOMALY INSTALL" and "GAMMA FILES", it can only complicate things, you can call the respective folders "Anomaly" and "GAMMA", less confusion for everyone. - THIS VIDEO IS SLOWLY GETTING OUTDATED, especially with the latest launcher release. Follow the steps on the discord, and watch this for entertainment purposes I guess xD - The "downloads" archive is optional for the install, if you don't have them don't worry and just proceed with the next steps. - First time 7zip users, uncheck the first box to the left when extracting the files, the one right under the destination. Otherwise it will create a folder inside the folder with all the files. (Thanks @Snigismund !)

@@ianmarais9403 At this point only get it if you have the same issue i had that I describe in the second part of the video. If you're just installing the game just ignore it, the launcher will download everything you need automatically.

I thought that the mod was gonna be super difficult to install, but after carefully reading and following the instructions on the discord server, it was super easy to do and when the new update came out it was also easy to update. It's actually amazing how well organized everything is for what is a free mod.

You know what I like the most about this guide? You included how to save the settings for when people update the game. When i played for the first time I was redoing the settings every time until I discovered how to save them.
For anyone who follows the steps exactly and for some reason still has many errors appear within the CMD window (the step at 5:28), and you are missing entire mods or parts of mods. Simply, repeat this step again. Close everything, relaunch the GAMMA launcher as Administrator, leave the 4 boxes checked, and click the install/update button once again. The installer will go through and repair any issues that happened during the (5:28) step. I followed this exactly and would crash upon starting a new game because a handful of mods didn’t install correctly. The fix for me was to simply redo this step. I didn’t have to clear or delete any files. Simply repeat the step and the installer will update over the missing and damaged files if you have any. Hope this helps anyone who has the same issue I did.
I did all the steps as you said you did also and was so excited to pick my equipment out and faction, go to click start (start to bring loading screen up) with happiness and joy....to be kicked back to files. I deleted and just played anomaly for awhile but I'm going to try to re-download and try this if it happens. Were you able to get the the same point as I did or am I having a different issue?

Been following some of your videos since I first played vanilla Stalker anomaly, a few years ago, and after a year I decide it to take a break from Anomaly and finally come back today. Gamma was in my radar for quite some time, and Im pleased to play this game again with such an wonderful modpack. It totally melts my brain for all the effort put together to release a full compilation of the best mods in a single package. It revamps the whole aspects of the game itself, its perfect and it works fine. Thanks for the amazing tutorial, it really helps a lot, and for the team of Grok Gamma. You guys are awesome, love and respect from Brazil comrades.
Before Anomaly, I was playing Anomaly with Expedition modpack, tho is a great mod itself, my PC cant handle properly at that time, so I decided to test Gamma and I was not dissapointed. It runs fine with my new setup with a gtx1650 16ram and xeon e3 1230v2
Man An actual quality installation guide, that we ended up adding it to the #how to install guide. One thing I'm not pleased about is the addition of the largefiles gdrive link into the description. My mirror is already getting overused as is... and now this video will definitely make it hit the download limit xD
Just wanted to mention a small tip that saved me hours - Once you have downloaded everything and have selected an 'instance' and are letting Gamma update itself, open your task manager and put Gamma Download's on high priority. Went from 6 hours to around an hour for me.

I figured it out on my own, definitely it paid off. I am now at the war with Sin with the best gear - SVD PMC and a AK-5C that I stripped of a Monolith corpse and then overtime repaired
If this is your first time ever using 7zip on your pc, Then when you extract the files to the anomaly folders you need to uncheck the first box to the left, The one right under the destination. otherwise it will create an folder inside the folder with all the files ind. after you have unchecked it once it will stay unchecked.

😂😂😂 This is actually fun to watch. I really understand, if ppl dont trust the process, beacause they are new to modding, GAMMA or Anomaly. But you have to follow the steps. And yes the mods and Anomaly running fine, if you do what they told you to do. I just had problems when I did miss something or did it incorrect. Only 95%? I'd say its closer to 98%... And I'm not a fan of Discord either but the FAQ and guides on the GAMMA discord is very very good. 99 out of 100 times, the answer to a question is there, I promise. Edit: Just realised we have the same desktop background.

I'm finally sitting down to update my install of Gamma, and your video comes up first in my Google search results :D This is the best how-to video on CZcams, hands-down lol Edit: some advice from my experience to anyone who benefits: If you're using ESET as your firewall/antivirus, you may want to turn the real-time file system protection's scan on File open, creation and execution off for the duration of the install/update process. ESET caught a few files during the update for me, but it's smart enough to recognise they weren't a threat--but it took a moment to scan them, which may interrupt the update (it didn't seem to for me, but results may vary). I just turned those functions off for the updater and turned them back on after, no fuss. ESET's just doing its job.
When I updated to 0.9.1 I was definitely in the "followed instructions but still had issues" category and like you said, there were others with the same problem and someone with a solution in the discord
I'm not really mod savvy (or all that tech savvy in general) but I found your guide very helpful as a side by side reference with the information of the discord server. I was able to get it all set up and start playing. Thank you very much Mr. Breeki.

This video gave me this weird feeling i got in modding communities like Fallout 4. It feels so pressed, as if the passive aggression is a way to implicate, that people with problems are actually just dumb. This is the first thing i‘m seeing related to SoC Modding so i hope, this feeling is just a exception. The few minutes where you actually explain what to do are worth watching tho

First time I installed Gamma almost 2 years ago, before the last 2 big patches, it literally took me one go and I got it...probably because I CROISSANT READ THE DIRECTIONS! Then when I got my new rig last December, guess what? I reinstalled again and no issues as well. Seriously though, there is nothing wrong with the installation, people just suck and then go on to bash Grok, the modders, or the GAMMA pack itself. Lols, thank goodness we got Cheeki Breeki here doing the down low for the low low folks.
Thank you for this video, out of the 95% you may find there is another sub group that are actually trying but just aren't that savvy with this stuff, non the less they love the games and want to go through the pain of trying to get the game installed - I believe this` video actually helps a heck of a lot because of the video/audio references! I should note that I see some derogatory posturing in some of the viewers' comments. . . I`d just point out that they also watched the video, meaning they needed and benefited from it in some way as well... so they shouldn't judge the boat their sitting in too harshly.

Mon téléchargement s'est arrêté durant cette partie la j'ai dû annuler pour passer au téléchargement suivant et là j'ai téléchargé le dossier en description pour le remplacer, et remettre un coup d'installation pour le zéro erreur sur la console. J'espère que ça va marcher cette fois j'ai perdu espoir de pouvoir y jouer à nouveau jamais eu autant de mal que cette fois-ci surtout la partie de l'exclusion des dossiers gamma et anomaly j'ai dû le faire sur mon antivirus qui gérait toutes les options de sécurité à la place du système ça m'a prit du temps avant de m'en rendre compte pfiou. Normally I'm very lazy and often don't install things if it's complicated. However I carefully followed the Gamma installation instructions on Discord and it all works fine. Just need to follow each step carefully. Only thing I have yet to figure out is how to play vanilla Anomaly if I want to now Gamma is installed.
Just have a separate install of Anomaly in another folder, if you just installed GAMMA you have all the files to do so already (just extract anomaly + update in another folder and you're done, can even add another instance of MO2 to it to mod it etc...)

GAMMA's hard installation process is not a chore, it's a feature. This is an amalgamation of over 400 mods, you should be glad it works... Most of the time. Btw, remember when you added a Windows Defender exception during the installation? Grok has your nudes now.
Glad to say I'm part of the small percent that installed it correctly. Still crashes a hell of a lot. Could be more due to my again hardware though. When GAMMA works, the experience honestly can't be currently beaten. Finally found a set of Expert Tools! Thank you Grok.
thanks for the guide it works im like few days in and forgot to thank you bcz its not just instal and play but its worth it im huge stalker nerd and its a new perspective, ive played Misery mod already and when the chimeras start to be bullet sponges its just game breaking and annoying
also another quick note that i was having issues with following your guide is you didnt mention not to have the check box checked on the 7zip menu. it was causing the extract to unpack into a folder inside the anomaly folder and the update file to unpack into a separate folder in the same gamma folder

Hi Cheeki Breeki - just one small things - fortunatelly I made the game working just with the guide on discord, so I am a lucky one, or I know how to read 😛 - but I found one small thing is missing, and that is the Demonized exefiles. In case you have outdated exe, you might encounter a crashes, looking like, you load in the game, all looks nice and working, but after a few seconds you come in to crash referring most likely to shaders, but it can be different. Fix for me was downloading the latest demonized exe files, since that moment all worked well and I can again enjoy the beauty of of the zona :-) good luck to all good stalkers - and to you with your videos. Hey man, I really like your videos and they help me a lot with getting better at gamma, I have a question though, I'm new and I really want to play ironman because it just seems like so much fun and makes you actually care whether you live or die and is just a lot more immersive to begin with but I'm aware I'm not even slightly nearly experienced enough to do ironman and that it will probably take hundreds of hours for me to be ready, my question is at what point subjectively would someone be ready to play ironman? Obviously taking it slow and trying to see things before they see you is over half of it but what else needs to happen before someone is ready for ironman such as learning how to deal with mutants, learning AI mechanics and where things spawn and anything else like that, especially with this last update where super dangerous mutants spawn in packs it's just really got me wondering at what point I really would consider myself ready, any input is appreciated and I'm definitely looking forward to any new videos from you as well
Outstanding guide! I've never had an issue with this, but I also come from years of tech work--and my tech support heart was glowing every time you laid down the smack on those who couldn't be arsed to RTFM.
Almost everything in the downloads folder is a zip archive, not a folder itself, plus everything is in an another download folder in the download folder, plus there is no update largefiles checkbox in the gamma launcher

If this is your first time ever using 7zip on your pc, Then when you extract the files to the anomaly folders you need to uncheck the first box to the left, The one right under the destination. otherwise it will create an folder inside the folder with all the files ind. after you have unchecked it once it will stay unchecked.

😂😂😂 This is actually fun to watch. I really understand, if ppl dont trust the process, beacause they are new to modding, GAMMA or Anomaly. But you have to follow the steps. And yes the mods and Anomaly running fine, if you do what they told you to do. I just had problems when I did miss something or did it incorrect. Only 95%? I'd say its closer to 98%... And I'm not a fan of Discord either but the FAQ and guides on the GAMMA discord is very very good. 99 out of 100 times, the answer to a question is there, I promise. Edit: Just realised we have the same desktop background.

Edit: some advice from my experience to anyone who benefits:
If you're using ESET as your firewall/antivirus, you may want to turn the real-time file system protection's scan on File open, creation and execution off for the duration of the install/update process. ESET caught a few files during the update for me, but it's smart enough to recognise they weren't a threat--but it took a moment to scan them, which may interrupt the update (it didn't seem to for me, but results may vary). I just turned those functions off for the updater and turned them back on after, no fuss. ESET's just doing its job.

When I updated to 0.9.1 I was definitely in the "followed instructions but still had issues" category and like you said, there were others with the same problem and someone with a solution in the discord

This video gave me this weird feeling i got in modding communities like Fallout 4. It feels so pressed, as if the passive aggression is a way to implicate, that people with problems are actually just dumb. This is the first thing i‘m seeing related to SoC Modding so i hope, this feeling is just a exception. The few minutes where you actually explain what to do are worth watching tho

First time I installed Gamma almost 2 years ago, before the last 2 big patches, it literally took me one go and I got it...probably because I CROISSANT READ THE DIRECTIONS! Then when I got my new rig last December, guess what? I reinstalled again and no issues as well. Seriously though, there is nothing wrong with the installation, people just suck and then go on to bash Grok, the modders, or the GAMMA pack itself. Lols, thank goodness we got Cheeki Breeki here doing the down low for the low low folks.

Thank you for this video, out of the 95% you may find there is another sub group that are actually trying but just aren't that savvy with this stuff, non the less they love the games and want to go through the pain of trying to get the game installed - I believe this` video actually helps a heck of a lot because of the video/audio references!
I should note that I see some derogatory posturing in some of the viewers' comments. . . I`d just point out that they also watched the video, meaning they needed and benefited from it in some way as well... so they shouldn't judge the boat their sitting in too harshly.

Frère un grand merci surtout pour la partie du dossier large files ... Mon téléchargement s'est arrêté durant cette partie la j'ai dû annuler pour passer au téléchargement suivant et là j'ai téléchargé le dossier en description pour le remplacer, et remettre un coup d'installation pour le zéro erreur sur la console. J'espère que ça va marcher cette fois j'ai perdu espoir de pouvoir y jouer à nouveau jamais eu autant de mal que cette fois-ci surtout la partie de l'exclusion des dossiers gamma et anomaly j'ai dû le faire sur mon antivirus qui gérait toutes les options de sécurité à la place du système ça m'a prit du temps avant de m'en rendre compte pfiou. Que ça marche ou pas je te remercie pour ce guide c'est extrêmement bien détaillé et limpide tu gères poto 🤟😊

Normally I'm very lazy and often don't install things if it's complicated. However I carefully followed the Gamma installation instructions on Discord and it all works fine. Just need to follow each step carefully. Only thing I have yet to figure out is how to play vanilla Anomaly if I want to now Gamma is installed.
Just have a separate install of Anomaly in another folder, if you just installed GAMMA you have all the files to do so already (just extract anomaly + update in another folder and you're done, can even add another instance of MO2 to it to mod it etc...)

GAMMA's hard installation process is not a chore, it's a feature. This is an amalgamation of over 400 mods, you should be glad it works... Most of the time.
Btw, remember when you added a Windows Defender exception during the installation? Grok has your nudes now.
It always worked nicely with my antivirus (ESET). It’s just that windows defender throws false positives sometime I’m unsure why

also another quick note that i was having issues with following your guide is you didnt mention not to have the check box checked on the 7zip menu. it was causing the extract to unpack into a folder inside the anomaly folder and the update file to unpack into a separate folder in the same gamma folder

Hi Cheeki Breeki - just one small things - fortunatelly I made the game working just with the guide on discord, so I am a lucky one, or I know how to read 😛 - but I found one small thing is missing, and that is the Demonized exefiles. In case you have outdated exe, you might encounter a crashes, looking like, you load in the game, all looks nice and working, but after a few seconds you come in to crash referring most likely to shaders, but it can be different. Fix for me was downloading the latest demonized exe files, since that moment all worked well and I can again enjoy the beauty of of the zona :-) good luck to all good stalkers - and to you with your videos. Ive been loving the presentation of the mod. Absolutely gorgeous. Only thing I've had to touch, settings wise, was the slowdown time mod option.

Hey man, I really like your videos and they help me a lot with getting better at gamma, I have a question though, I'm new and I really want to play ironman because it just seems like so much fun and makes you actually care whether you live or die and is just a lot more immersive to begin with but I'm aware I'm not even slightly nearly experienced enough to do ironman and that it will probably take hundreds of hours for me to be ready, my question is at what point subjectively would someone be ready to play ironman? Obviously taking it slow and trying to see things before they see you is over half of it but what else needs to happen before someone is ready for ironman such as learning how to deal with mutants, learning AI mechanics and where things spawn and anything else like that, especially with this last update where super dangerous mutants spawn in packs it's just really got me wondering at what point I really would consider myself ready, any input is appreciated and I'm definitely looking forward to any new videos from you as well

Almost everything in the downloads folder is a zip archive, not a folder itself, plus everything is in an another download folder in the download folder, plus there is no update largefiles checkbox in the gamma launcher
