Rare EMD GP40X on CP Rail's Glenboro Subdivision !

On Feburary 3rd, 2024, Local foamers and I managed to catch CP F22, a local grain elevator train, running west towards Rathwell, MB.
The lead unit on F22, CP GP38-2 4524, was built in 1978 as UP 9001, an EMD GP40X. These units were "xperimental" GP40s with higher horsepower and different HTB trucks. 23 were made, and a couple ended up as overhauled units on CP, like 4521-4524. It lacks the old trucks, but it still retains it's flared radiators. CP 5006, an EMD SD30c ECO, was rebuilt in 2013 from CP GMD SD40-2 5869.
We caught the train near Sturgeon Rd, Saskatchewan Avenue and managed to cram in Headingley and Diamond, MB !
