15:24 How to install this mod
This is a great sponsor, I subbed for a year. Unfortunately it lacks a solid streak feature and doesn't do an amazing job at encouraging you to progress at your own pace, but the content of the course is really good and easy to learn from. Would recommend if you wanna get into Python
Thank you for helping us with mods. I still haven't used any mods yet. :)
The reason the mod manager installer on Nexus mods didn't work for you is because that button is specifically for the Nexus Mod Manager (Nexus mods has their own mod manager that can be used with a massive variety of games.) if you don't have the nexus mod manager installed, (I think it's called Vortex, or at least it used to be back when I was heavily modding skyrim...) then that button won't do anything, since all it does is open the nexus mod manager on your pc and start the download through that instead of through your browser.
That thumbnail is going to give me nightmares lmao
It’s giving Skyrim CZcams poop lmao
Giga based Periphery icon
I took a screen shot for later
It's shadowheart too of all characters. The only non-tav female companion worth seducing.
The thumbnail is so cursed, I had an overwhelming urge to unsubscribe
Time to return as if I haven't made a new character every week
I’m personally finally going to replay the game as a Githyanki.
This just shows that this would work great as a DM mode as a digital table top. Drop players into maps with set monsters and loot. Man, that would be great as a dungeon master tool if they could give us this access. Tools to make maps and this would be amazing.
Yeah really missed out with a DM mode and easy custom support. Just look at Skyrim to see how well a game does when supported by these systems.
@@sirduncan2163I think its because wizard has their own dnd online thing and if people start using BG3 only that would interfere with their earning potential. At least thats my guess on why larian didnt want to release a dm mode or something like that wizard would probably not like that
Nah they have multiple DND mmo games and offline games that let you make new quest and content it's probably just larian @@gerardoalvarado8425
@@gerardoalvarado8425wotc said larian was not allowed to release such a mode. Larian has this mode in both divinity original sin games and it is awesome. If they were allowed they Def would have added a custom campaign builder here too.
@@tounsiforlife2317 Is there source that confirms this?
*dials everything up to the highest difficulty and goes in with a small party* "I did not expect it to be this difficult." LOLOLOL.
Still didn't expect it to be that difficult lol It was a pleasant surprise
bg3 difficulty is kinda a joke, trials of tav is impressive in that sense
@@alexplayer8367 if you are bad at the game its actually incredibly difficult, you need to try not being good at it, it would probably improve your gameplaying expererience, if you like a challenge. Seriously though, once i work out the right tactic it gets easy, but when i try a straightforward fight it can be hellishly hard.
It's a really Amazing mod, i am around 200 RogueScore now on Tactician and i had to fight a Extremely Durable Ketheric Thorm recently with over 300health meanwhile around 10+ enemies spawned in the area too such as a few githyanki, Flaming fist, a Shadow and Even a 'Daddy' Ghost.
The Encounters are amazing! The Bosses makes this so challenging in the Later stages, especially if there are different types of SideMobs poking at you while you're focussed on a boss.
This mod will add many Additional Hours for sure!
This mod looks amazing! Thanks for the great video, Wolf!
The mod manager download is for the native nexus mod manager install. If you have that application installed it would open that application. Works great for games that are supported by Nexus Mod Manager, since you're using a different mod manager you'd want to do the manual install anyway
This is basically the opposite of what I want from BG3, but I love that the community can create stuff like this, it's awesome!
I though combat/arena mode was the only thing "missing" from this game
I play RPG games for the story and characters, but tactical combat in this game is also fun, so random fights with random setups would also be nice.
Wish something like expanded Black Pits for BG3 was a thing
Good to see you start using BG3 mods hope to see more mod review videos for BG3. Because there are so many awesome mods for the game. And I wish more big BG3 streamers would cover them.
Will do more! Thanks
Thank you for the demonstration. I heard about this mod a while ago, but the description didn't seem that fun as it appeared to be when I watched this video. I need to try this...
Wolf...keep doing this man! not just for BG3 but other games we love. I've reached the point in my gaming life I'm mainly playing modded games. I will keep looking to your channel for news and new gaming experiences! Always great to see you back in BG3!! I will use your guide and it's clear and helpful! This mod is exactly in my wheelhouse!!
Same, mods just allow us to create our own fun the way we want.
Thank you for the walkthrough Wolf! I've never manually installed mods before, so appreciate it, getting ready to play Trials 😊
Enjoy!
This mod is awesome and really impressive what they managed to do without any modding tools, but it still needs a lot of work imo. I'm really curious to see what they do in September, once the tools become available!
Same!
I might get mods when that comes out
Thanks so much! That was super easy to follow and got me up and running in no time.
Enjoy!
More top quality content 👍 great to see someone covering BG3 mods aswell!
Cheers
Wolfheart, Well done video. Your content is top shelf.
Wait until mods make extra stories
no level editor in mod tools unfortunately
@@crt_headalso no voice acting really
Interesting! Might give it a try. I believe the mod manager link is not supported by that specific mod manager, but others like Mod Organizer 2 should work fine as long as you give permissions for opening the "custom protocol" links.
Awesome, thanks for the showcase!
Thanks for watching
Pretty cool. This mod isn't my thing, but I am eager to see what some smart and creative people come up with once Larian finalizes mod support. Good times ahead for BG3!
Just to confirm, you know mod manager download on Nexus is referring to Nexus's own mod manager (Vortex) and not Laughing Leader's Baldur's Gate mod manager? That's why it isn't doing anything. You need to have Vortex installed and configured, some games work well with it and others not so much.
Ah ok ok that makes sense! So I guess the manual downloads that I was doing was correct
BG3 is one of those games where it doesnt work very well btw
@@ZeallustImmortalI use it and never have problems tbh. I love vortex mod manager
@@tounsiforlife2317 Glad to hear it, my luck hasn't been so good
Been itching to get back into BG3 after my Xbox honor run and well all the betas needed something new thank you for showing this mod.
These thumbnails cannot I repeat CANNOT be beat XD Thanks for the tutorial as well!
Haha thanks Wata!
Something challenging! Finally!!
This is amazing! Ever since I first started playing BG3 I loved the combat and turned into a bit of a murder hobo just so I could keep doing combat
Thanks for the heads up on this one mate..👍
Thanks for this vid Wolf, I love stuff like this, I may have to try it out real soon now that I beat the Elden Ring DLC! :)
As a fullstack developer I approve of this ✌️
I'll totally have to check out this mod! I love more intense/difficult combat. Thank you for another amazing video Wolf! ❤
Thanks as always Gwen!
Didn't expect this game to get a roguelike mode, that's so amazing! Can't wait to try it myself. Thank you! ♥
This is awesome. Kudos to the genius that created this.
Highlighting a community mod? I love content like this. Kudos.
🍻
Nice, looks fun!!
Thank you for showing how to install this mod! Finally someone explained it slowly and thoroughly
Happy to help.
Thank you so much for the guide to install this for those of us who are new to modding. I struggled all day to try and get it to work but couldn't. Your video showed me a couple of steps that were not explained on nexus. Now I finally got it to work. :)
Sweet! Enjoy
I’ve been playing this a lot it’s sooooo much fun
The original Neverwinter Nights had tools built in that allowed players to make AMAZING modules. The “Undermountain” (if memory serves) was fantastic. I’m amazed that we don’t have anything like this here.
Once Larian releases the modding tools in the fall, we’ll be better positioned to judge what’s possible.
It's not enough for me to come back just yet, but it does look very interesting. The idea of getting rid of roleplay is great, especially when you've done the story many many time. It will probably be at the top of my mod list for the next time I install the game.
Having played the mod similar to this one in Divinity Original Sin 2, it's going to be a blast coming back to this in BG3.
Hey, just wanted to say that you have a beautiful background image!
🙏
This is excellent. Shows what's possible with mods. What would be great is if a mod would allow adding scenes as well, and making your own adventures by extension. Like a random dungeon DLC similar to Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Tenebrous Depths.
This mod sounds awesome. Im going to play this in co op with cousins!
I'm waiting for official mod support before messing with any mods. I am now too old of a gamer to fiddle with mods like this when I could be actually playing.
Will be interesting to see what kind of mods we get in the coming years, I doubt it'll ever reach the heights of NWN modules(the internet has changed too much) but one can hope!
Wolf and bg3, legendary combo. Great vid as always man.
Skal Benny
@@WolfheartFPS Skal!
Thank you for always bringing us great BG3/Larian content...and that silky voice. 😌
Thank you
i hope this mod leads to someone developin an encounter builder mod. I would LOVE making encounters for my DnD Games in BG3. that would be insane
Saw this vid at work and now I can't wait to get home and give it a shot. I haven't stopped playing bg3 and want to see how good/difficult this can get
Enjoy
Hippo is really awesome to talk to. This mod is gonna go far, nice vid Wolf
Thanks Morgana. Love to hear that. Hope the mod gets a lot of downloads and makes it to official mod support!
Good to see BG3 again but the Chained Together stream was hilarious.
thank yoooouuuu this helps so much
You're welcome
This is EXACTLY the mod that I've been waiting for! I have hundreds of hours in the game, I know the story back and forth but I still like to play it. Now I can try different tactics and builds without the need of going through all the dialogues and objectives again.
Can't wait for the official mod support, I have a feeling that we're going to see lots of cool mods that will extend the playability of this beautiful game!
I downloaded it yesterday and am still going strong in my run. Can absolutely recommend, it is a lot of fun and can be inspiring for build ideas and testing out subclasses. (Also, as soon as i saw pixie blessing it was the first thing i bought, no question)
Pretty sure the reason the 'download with mod manager' option aint working because that option is spesifically for nexus' own mod manager, Vortex, it does not work with seperate 3rd party mod managers.
Looks interesting. I'm sure this sort of mod will be happening a lot as soon as official mod support is developed.
22:19 The mod manager option likely doesn't work because it's referring to Nexus' own mod manager, not the BG3 mod manager. Using the manual method is the correct way to download. Hope this helps. Also, you can launch the game directly from the BG3 mod manager. There's an icon near the top right, and you can configure it to close the mod manager after launching the game. It's very handy if there's an update to the game, but your mods haven't been updated yet as it bypasses Steams' forced update option. I can't wait for patch 7's official mod support. The modding commmunity continues to amaze me with their creations.
Makes sense
Surprised to see you have more hours played than me by about 50 hours when you pulled up steam lol
I may pick this up again
Wolfpack Best Pack! Best BG3 content creator on CZcams, no doubt.
Skal to the best supporter commenter!
Thank you for the step by step 😭. I'm nearly reaching 500 hours on BG3 so i really want to switch things up but I did'nt know how to proceed with downloading it.
cheers
This reminds me of the black pits in the original bg1&2
Wow this is it’s own game mode
Feels like it right
I've wanted something like this for quite a while. Now that I've completed the campaign too many times, I'd love something akin to a roguelite experience that focusses primarily on combat and dungeon crawling. I feel like starting a new campaign is such a big commitment, so having lighter to pick up and play would be excellent. Could even integrate a leaderboard or weekly challenge builds or something of the like.
very impressive. Hopefully this means that custom campaigns are still possible once the modding tool is out
That's sick! I hope they bring it to console when they bring mods over. I think they are doing that for update 7? Not sure though.
This is a very promising first step in the modding community creating DLC like content.
I'm hoping that the modding community will be creating mods for years to come.
Someone helps me do tech things while not being techy, I like and subscribe. Thanks man!
Cheers and thanks
Fun or positive combat remark: I don't know if you noticed, but you broke the Magma Mephit's Concentration on the spell Heat Metal (on Laezel) which would have killed her (it is a rather vicious spell).
this looks awesome. for rouge score speed, does that reference time or actions? would it be better to have a strategey to finish in the the fewest total actions, or to have a higher APM.
I think it's only for how many rounds you can complete the encounter in
If you like that type of battles and encoutners, that is the state I'm at with Creatures & Chronicles. But it's much much older DND rules and it's more sprites and pixel art than fancy 3d graphics. You are welcome to test the early access version.
The sheer amount of work and dedication that went into this mod is incredible! Can't wait to give it a go!
I recommend!
Man i was saying Larian should have added this type of game mode from the beginning!!
This looks cool, does it work/balanced in Co-op?
Thanks Wolf!
Creating directories on the desktop?, how does it look after a year Wolf?
Shortcuts only my friend, that way you won't delete anything important when you clean up.
I have not tested either of those but according the mod FAQ it should work.
BG3 Mod manager it's independent and recommended instead of vortex. The mod manager option you have there for dld is for vortex users :) some manage to make some mods work with it but the majority of mods don't and mod creators don't usually recommend and don't support it fully, at least not yet :)
Thanks! Makes sense
Last week, I decided to play honor mode like a roguelite (random character, go as far as I can and see if I can get a little farther each time). While the intro is great, seeing it three times in a few hours is a bit repetitive lol (shortest run was 30 minutes, sigh). This is exactly what I was looking for.
Dang I finally make myself take a break from bg3 and this drops the following week 😂
lol
so nice with the install guide. I have tried with the nexus vortex manager and I could not get it to work. Thanks
i saw HUGE baldurs gate 3 DLC in the title and i almost shat myself.
Lol! Man I wish
Nice CZcams pic. Can't wait for KCD 2
one of the best mod
I like the way he says "Mahd" for mod and "Kahmbeht" for combat
Lol
@@WolfheartFPS I do mean it sincerely and not sarcastically! I'm from Scotland and love hearing other people's accents
Time to RETURN?! nEver left!!!!
If the enemies are randomly generated, this mod sounds like an absolute blast to play and it will increase the longevity of the game 3x times at least
Still wishing we can get full on new units and zones in the vein of free dlc, but this seems definitely cool
I want this to work in multiplayer so bad
When it says mod manager download it isn't referring to the bg3mm it is referring to vortex which is nexus mods mod manager. It works for most games but I could never get it to work with bg3 so thanks for the video. But that is why you clicking download with mod manager is not working.
thanks makes sense
I'm still kinda surprised that I hear so many people being shocked over LR costing 80 supplies... I have only played tactitian and honor mode since day one and didn't know, until several months in, that resting in other difficulty modes cost less 😂
btw the reason the mod manager download doesn't work is because it requires you to have vortex downloaded, then it starts the download in the vortex mod manger.
Makes sense thanks
Interesting mod I really hope it will work with officiall mod support and nvida gfn
Its kinda shocking to me that we havnt gotten any Rouge-Like Game in the D&D setting, like a group of Adventures that delve deeper and deeper in a dungeon (closest game that would come to mind is the Hades games, that Formula would almost fit 1:1 in a D&D setting.)
I desperately wanna try this but I had Nexus mods installed during the beta and after the game released I downloaded the released version and my game wouldn't load and I had delete everything and start from scratch. I played a while without mods and decided to add mods again. However when I did, the same thing happened. Game would get stuck on the loading screen and show an error, so yet again I had to completely erase everything including my save files to get it to work again, so I am TERRIFIED to try mods again as I'm in part 3 of the story now and don't wanna start over! 😭
So great that the mod community is picking up the slack for the regrettable decision by the devs to not make any DLCs for this amazing game. Looks fantastic. Thanks for uploading.
Intresting Video. Look forward to you streaming this so we can all tease you when you die... I mean you never die we will just keep you company... =O)
Hahah thanks Dragon!!
Does the difficulty setting even do anything? Playing on balanced, at level 3 I ran into an imp of mammon, a fighter and paladin with 65 hps or so each, and then throw in 3-4 kobolds. The kicker is it was a shadowlands map, so even if you down someone, they come back with half hps the next turn. That imp has 75 hps and stings you for 35 poison damage that can encase you in gold for 2 turns, like it matters though as even a 16 con laezel doesn't have 35 hps at level 3 :p
This is one of the best mods ever made, almost feels like it should be in the game proper. I just get bored of RPG's now, mods are keeping my love for just going out and killing things that need to be killed, alive.
Christ bless you, thisbis awesome
Considering how it's constructed, it likely won't be an officially supported mod.
as someone who loathes turn based combat, mainly because everything takes AGES, even on easy, and there is Xcom and co for endless turn based combat, i sure wait for mods that go in different directions than just doing more fights.
But it's great that mods make the game more flexible. Without (cheaty) mods that massively sped up the fights i would never have played BG3 (or DOS1&2 or Atom RPG or Encased).
And missed otherwise (story, world, quests and stuff) very good games.
OMG the arena battle mod looks amazing. This is like the old time when blizzard warcraft was free for fans and players with dev knowledge and it is how MOBA was created. Larian could have easily charged for this as DLC and tank more money, but they go with last mod sup patch and have fun guys.
