@Sneethe It's a question of looking at the evidence wherever it leads. The Bible was good enough, as far as it went, when written (borrowing heavily from the other extant religions and that which it inherited from its forebears). Sadly, the Bible is not explanatory, but just asserts a story that is increasingly untenable. I am not bad-mouthing this ancient document at all, but to believe it as the ultimate truth is turn off one's mind to all that has been learned from the actual data. Trust me, science is far more interesting, albiet it requires giving up one's security blanket.

The development of a child in the womb typically follow a form from egg to fish to reptile to mammals. This doesn't mean EVOLVE. The form doesn't matter is the the specific DNA that make someone human!

No, a human fish or human monkey can not exist in or out of a woman's womb (although we humans are indeed classified as one of the five living species of great apes). Your understanding of embryology is pitifully inadequate for the point you would like to make.
Yes, the embryologic development of humans recapitulate the evolutionary stages through which they evolved. They do not go through embryonic development stages of creatures through which they did not evolve.
Yes, humans share a great deal of DNA snippets, genes, with all other living creatures. We process sugars, for instance, in the same way that trees process sugars, because that gene existed before humans separated from trees (It was in algae. Green algae evolved into plants, red algae evolved into animals.) A human will, however, never grow a leaf, nor will it have a leaf in the embryological development, because leaves evolved after the split.

This egg fertilises it become fish like in the womb. Is it a fish?
Then later during its gestation period it has tail and limbs like a lizard then look like four legged animal a monkey . You would erroneous believe it has evolved into a lizard or monkey!
Later the tail disappears and take the appearance of human. At birth he crawl like am animal and learn to walk as a human. Doesn't mean when a child crawl he was an animal?

Darwin's theory is indeed an absolute truth, it's beyond reasonable doubt. Only the mechanics of how it works are theoretical, the reality that all life has evolved from earlier forms is a fact not theory.
A remarkable breakthrough by Darwin. He answered a question humans had likely puzzled over since they first developed language. Where did we come from.
The origin of life on the other hand rather than the origin of species is a whole different question. And that's a question Darwin wasn't even trying to answer which these creationists often fail to grasp.
Indeed, that's a lot of knowledge to internalize.

His theory is useful, and it is no fact (except that which is tautological), but a explanation of relationships between facts: a tool. It speaks of how things got here, not why, and not where to proceed. There are many more interesting questions asked about and by humans than the mechanism of our arriving here. I say this as a researcher of evolutionary genomics who uses the products of his theory often.
Based on what we know as, "survival of the fittest", we know that the concept makes a lot of sense. The most important thing that a creature can do is breed... However, we, personally have put ourselves out of that game due to our development of culture and technology. We can look back at animal populations that were effected by us and study them, but we usually find that they cannot adapt... We have seen a few moth species who had light and dark coloration in areas where there was a lot of soot, so only the dark species survived... Anyway you look at it the theory is unprovable, It makes sense, but for it to become a scientific law, experiments would have to be made by multiple people who saw the same results within the same circumstances, therefore it will remain a theory. We do still rely on selective breeding of animals and grains and flowering plants and trees for our survival, there is no difference between selective genetics and evolution, outside of the intent to serve us rather than the intent to serve them.
By saying that we cannot "prove" it as law, I meant that any secluded test would be deemed unethical, probably, for good reasons, so we can only work with ideas and situations that have many variables, that aren't controlled.

As a geologist, I can easily imagine a much simpler model, an environment where both geothermal and solar energy were abundantly present. An early-stage divergent tectonic plate boundary, where a new shallow crustal rift is flooded with seawater, would provide the necessary conditions. This is not to completely rule out the far sexier asteroid hypothesis, but just an application of Ockham’s razor.
Flipping Ockham, dude is always going around slashing with his razor all those sexy convoluted theories. I can admire a plain-faced solution but every now and then everybody wants a little bit of excitement and some complexity, basically no one wants to be a basic b**** LMAO

Highly recommend The Vital Question, a book by evolutionary biogeochemist Nick Lane. Lane makes a compelling case that a specific type of hydrothermal vent, alkaline/serpentinizing hydrothermal vents, provided the best conditions for life’s chemical precursors to become concentrated and then kickstarted.
Thanks. I've heard the theory but forgot the author. What interests me as much as the possibility of life starting at thermal vents (i.e., sans photosynthesis or another mechanism requiring energy from a star) is that this mechanism includes exoplanets, even rogue planets, and thus expands the Drake Equation factor for the likelihood of life developing elsewhere. I imagine that Jeff Goldblum will be remembered as much as anything as the actor whose character said "life finds a way".

Dylan, no it is not definitive proof of anything like that. It tells that life on earth is more hardy and strange than we have imagined and gives us hope that that there may be some life elsewhere. But is not proof, definitive or otherwise, of anything about life elsewhere in the universe.

Can, in this context, means a possibility or probability. If he had said "could" instead, that would make the concept more in line with colluquial English, but "can" is the proper term. Not to seem like a language jerk, I just saw this discussion as something that didn't need to be had, because we all understood the meaning of the comment.... The fact that life exists, on Earth, away from sunlight; means that there is the possibility of bacterial life existing within moons that we think have subsurface water oceans and are being heated by tidal forces. That concept is a lot more interesting to discuss than semantics in this case.
@@buddystanley2532 "Can exist" means that there definitely exists the conditions necessary for life, and we know this to be true. Doesn't mean life DOES exist, but that the potential for life DOES. We know it even in our own solar system!
@@buddystanley2532 : I disagree. The fact that these conditions exist on Earth are incontrovertible proof that they, and the life that is contingent on it, CAN exist on planets other than Earth.
Have you ever read Nick Lane's "the vital question" .. an absolute stellar book on the origin of life ... Lane puts forward that abiogenesis took place in a different sort of hydrothermal vent .. not the black smokers .. but "white smokers" (see the wiki on hydrothermal vents). He makes a really really convincing argument ... And he makes really convincing arguments against the "warm pond" hypothesis, as you say yourselves, earth's surface was just too violent and unstable for something as tenuous as early life.
Give the book a read. Its one of the most profoundly brilliant things I've ever read.

Sadly I don't think that would be a good thing. 1: They'd have to keep to a tight schedule, likely affecting the quality.
2: They'd have to shorten or pad out videos to fit a TV time slot, opposed to making them as long or short as they feel they need to be.

The remote cameras did NOT discover the hydrothermal vent life except for some scattered clams and mussels, and they did not see the black smokers. The remote film cameras were towed by the ship for 12 hours while they were searching for hydrothermal vents. The remote cameras did see clam and mussel shells, and a temperature spike was measured. At the location of the temperature spike, Jack Corliss and others went to investigate the hydrothermal vents in the Alvin submersible, where they discovered the life around the black smokers. Human eyes looking through Alvin's portholes made the first discovery of the vent life. Aboard the Alvin, they also took some samples and some pictures. Some of those samples of hydrothermal vent life are currently preserved at the Smithsonian Museum.

Very often I find myself considering the fact that I am, so far, the end result of species progression. As in, billions of years of organism evolution have culminated in my existence. Not to say I am the epitome of existence, per sé, but rather to encourage myself by acknowledging that all of my ancestors found a way to succeed in a dangerous, harsh, and unforgiving world. They passed on their genetics and each step of the way, every change that came along, led to me. If they can survive, so can I. No matter what.
I've gotten through many bouts of depression thinking about that. I don't want the end result of all my ancestors hard work to be undone by my unwillingness to get help and work on bettering my life and the lives of others. Because now it isn't as important for me to merely pass on my genetics to succeed in life. Now the goal has to be to better this world for the generations to come, whether they are my children or those born on the other side of the world. We are all one, and we are all the product of successful growth, adaption, and evolution.
I'm pretty tipsy, so I apologize if I don't make sense.

Kudos, One thing skipped over in the explanation of hydrothermal vents, the black smokers, is the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide. Nick Lane's recent work shows in these conditions , a ph gradient between hydrogen in an alkaline environment bubble up into an acidic ocean containing carbonic acid where it can spontaneously form some of the kreb cycle intermediates which are both part of metabolism and forming organics molecules necessary for life. Matter begats life probably from an interface.
Giant Galopagos Tortoises, not turtles. Turtles are generally aquatic, while tortoises tend to live in dryer arid conditions in hotter climates.
The use of turtle and tortoise is not uniform across the English speaking world.

If you look casually as Darwin did and other of his descendants you will draw a false conclusion of evolution from a correct observation.
Human has eggs but it is not same as a chicken eggs or lizard's.
This egg fertilises it become fish like in the womb. Is it a fish?
Then later during its gestation period it has tail and limbs like a lizard then look like four legged animal a monkey . You would erroneous believe it has evolved into a lizard or monkey!
Later the tail disappears and take the appearance of human. At birth he crawl like am animal and learn to walk as a human. Does it mean when a child crawl he was an animal?
This was the mistake of Darwin -False conclusion from correct observations.
All life may start as an egg form (cell)but what drives life is the specific DNA not the appearance.
An hen egg cannot EVOLVE into human egg.
A 'human fish' or 'human lizard or monkey' can exist in woman womb so to speak, it is the Dna that make it human not the form.
