i am enjoying warden more now. I like the utilities in the yellow to add to my red line. I've been easily soloing and now up to 98 without dying a lot (it has only been 11 times that I have died). It is pretty awesome. I go into the small fellowship quests and dungeons. When I get a bit bigger I do the fellowship ones. Its been fun.

Love your vidoes, I think you produce the best LOTRO content on youtube. Is there any chance you could do a video on power lvling alts? I Im working my main class up to the lvl cap but I'd like to keep my alts as close behind as possible but I can't find any good guides on where the best place to farm xp is or tips on what classes should go to which zones etc.

Hi Louey, great vid as always. Quick question, came back to the game after 4 years when I've heard about the warden rework. What do you think about the state of the current red warden for soloing instances ? It doesn't feel viable to me atm
I got a question. With the Loremaster, how is it your Gust of Wind doesnt Glitch out. I havent seen that Animation in a decade now.....

Good ... cause while some traits are a matter of choice/taste - single target DOTs vs general damage boost - some other traits are trickier to choose w/o deeper knowledge of stats and mechanics .. and as with many ppl nowadays - plauing LOTRO on and off - I just dont remember the details anymore.
How do you guys deal with the lag waves when you play an induction based class? It's been keeping me from enjoying them.

Comprehensive and to the point, though I had a little bit of trouble processing all the info due to the (pretty impressive) constant stream of it. Well articulated and informative but sadly a bit easy to zone out during listening. I really was trying to pay attention, sorry about that. I might suggest taking some pauses between subjects to give a little room to digest the info more effectively, but maybe I'm just a bad listener. Thank you for the video, it's helped me understand the classes a lot better than I did.
You're a bad listener who somehow forgot you're watching a video that you can pause at any time to give yourself room to digest info.

The class's whole shtick when released was the duality between heal and harm, and now that's gone.. :/

i gotta say, im usually not a fan of melee classes in mmos as i love the more "fancy" or "magical" classes cause i find them more interesting. but recently i tried the brawler and i kind of love the look and feel of just .... straight up punching and kicking mobs lmao. its fun!
Since the last update, the red line captain can solo level reasonably quickly.
How do I toggle my camera thing, when I tab onto something the camera focuses and I walk in a different direction, I'd like to set it up like wow, I really like wow tab targeting

Usually support LM, healer, and tank... Maybe more specifically, LM, Captain, and Minstrel. But, it really depends on the type of instance, even the tier, and likely the server you are on!

I just started playing this game, and I really think Lotro could be my new MMO-love - if I can sort out two things:
1. Is there a way to make combat feel less sluggish? There seems to be a disconnect between when I press a button and when the ability happens. Another example is when I suddenly stop moving with my ranger and then press a ranged ability (after releasing the move-button) I get an error message saying I can´t use that ability while moving. So I have to wait for a bit of time after stopping moving before I press an ability - that feels terrible to me and is the reason I can´t play one of the ranged characters (which I want to). I have a great connection and I remember having the same problem back in the day when I last played Lotro.
2. I just bought a Legion Pro i7 with a RTX 4080-card, but if I go any higher than "High Quality" graphics (and actually High as well) I get choppy gameplay when in more open areas. I feel like I should be able to play this game from 2007 on highest graphics - especially because I can do that in f.x. New World, GW2, ESO, WoW and many other games with no problem. Is there an option I should uncheck or something like that?
1.) LOTRO plays on a ability que. So its not like other MMOs where the ability goes off right away with a GCD. Its a little weird at first, but you get use to it and the higher level you get, the less slugish it feels. That being said, sometimes there is lag, where it almost "Pauses" your character.
2.) Not sure, I dont get that. However, I am sure there are videos that talk about settings. This youtuber Louey7 has a new player guide which has settings on it.
I will say, LOTRO is more of a relaxed RPG than a competitive MMO. Unlike WoW/FF14 when you reach endgame, there isnt mythics/hardcare raids/PvP. Now there are raids and dungeons. but they are just more chill. Enjoy your journey, dont rush it, and enjoy the ride. The main story and quests and community is what makes this game a gem. Its a stress-free game to relax in.

Hi, I'm new in the game and created a champion, I'm level 15 and don't put points in any of the 3 colors...where I have to put the points to leveling? And I can change it later or have more than 1 build save to change?
You can always change your spec. And you have 2 specs you can put points in. They are independent, so yes, you can have 2 builds to level with.

@@sygfriedelbekia429 Personally, I like red the best. But honestly, it doesnt matter too much. Its 100% up to how you like to play. Some specs are more tanky but less damage, and some are more damage (red).
And remember, you can always respec.. so it cost nothing to try each spec. Then just play what you find most fun. LOTRO is a journey and it will take a long time to reach max level, so its important to play what you find fun.

Anyone able to tell me if the game is comfortably playable from Australia these days? And how is button bloat? how many key binds do most classes require? Thanks in advance.
Not sure about Australia but while I was in the country of Qatar I was playing comfortably on US and EU servers. I’m sure you can find a server or two with decent ping. Button bloat can be bad for certain classes but most of the time you will find yourself only needing to use 5-10 skills at most, the rest you can click as needed. (tho I imagine end game is a different story, never gotten there) Hope you enjoy the game!
maybe update 37 or 38 will fix the lag...
a question about the warden, is it necessary to use spears or can you use another type of one-handed weapon? i like the general idea of the class but i don't really like spears.

Hunters are way better than they used to be. You can almost feel the punch that they do (at high levels) and they can have some great self heals. LM's at end game are good too,
...something tells me you didn't play Hunter's during Beta Days.
high burst aoe, dots, and tanky pets... so a lore master is a WoW warlock the tankiest caster...
I haven't played this game too much yet but one thing I find annoying is "you're expected to do this end game", even if that class has dps your'e expected to heal, tank etc. That probably turns a lot of people away from this game, I get it but at the same time if someone wants to be a dps Beorning for example they should just play what they want. Everywhere you look whether online in a forum or a video its the same though, you're expected to play this role. Kind of a turn off for the game imo.
This issue probably stems at least in part from each class having one specific role way back in the day, so when they added the trait trees, most/all classes got new roles (but the new ones tended to be less fleshed out).
I wish it weren't the case!

Yellow hunter isn't used much because people don't know how to use it in group content effectively enough.
There you go again, forgetting to mention that some things are your opinion, some people really enjoy Red LM.
I'd say less Louey's opinion and more the general opinion of the community. An off-meta spec can be great, but it's a more uphill battle to convince people to bring you when there is an inherently better, more meta choice who also runs the content. I think telling new players, especially people interested in doing high level content at max, the default meta answer is important because of the extreme lengths of time it takes to reach max in this game. This isn't WoW where you can easily change classes without a major time or monetary investment.

I think what they mean is more recent moments such as how with Update 35.1 where the Race of Men Avatar Updates saw X amount of folks banned on the Old LOTRO Forums, how the SSG LOTRO Team really weren't & still aren't taking any real discussion about such and so on.
It's not "horrible" or anything, they just have chosen to go a certain direction for how Players "can" make their Race of Men Characters, nobody has to "USE" the Changes they've made. The SSG LOTRO Team have been more proactive and not letting Threads on the New Official LOTRO Forums run too long before they either tell Posters off for Fighting, etc or if things just are too hectic & off topic, they are Locking Threads sooner.
