This remarkable musician just walks upon the stage, plays this incredibly difficult piece of Bach as though anyone, anyone could do it, and then leaves the stage as if nothing had happened. The sign of a very great artist.
She does it at the end of most performances and I love watching it. It's very mesmerising, and while some might interpret it as arrogance or something, one only has to take a look at her smile to know otherwise. The way she can so powerfully yet to delicately and controlled pull it off the instrument and flick it backward with her wrist is amazing.
I'm sure this take years and years to master but she made it look so easy as if I could just grab a violin and do it. But in reality I would probably just ugly cry.
There is magic afoot in this short masterpiece. I love the flourish with the bow at the end of the piece. It says to me "This is the most beautiful music. I, Hilary Hahn, love 'Gigue' with all my heart!" So do I, Hilary! So do I! Hilary played this as an encore to Beethoven with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Before playing it, Hilary spoke the magical incantation, "Gigue, by Bach!" I do so wish I had been there and will never forget that performance ... and that flourish with the bow. Hahn's signature!
Her Beethoven was beyond belief. The best ever....and the response of the audience was awesome. She deserved every hoot and holler. It was pure magic ..... a special moment captured in time for all us mortals.
It’s hard to determine (between violin virtuosos) who is the best because they’re all very very skilled I think what you mean is that you prefer Hilary’s playing than the others.
Hilary is a rare phenomenon. Let us also acknowledge that note for note, J.S. Bach is the greatest composer of music that has ever lived. I'm saying that as someone who is a big fan of any music genre in any period under the sun.
It looks as though it took as much effort to play this enormously difficult piece as it would me, had I sang the first few lines of a lullaby to a kiddie going to sleep. In other words she plays in such an effortless way it is astounding. What an artist. Dear Frankfurt orchestra, please invite her back !! By the way you are a wonderful, wonderful German orchestra!
In Thomas Lehrs Buch regiert "der dumpfe Missklang der Griesgrämigkeit, der schlechten Laune und des Lebensekels", meint Martin Krumbholz. Rezension 2013
She fits her performance to suit the orchestra. She typically only gets two rehersals with any given orchestra for a piece. The orchestra would need to be on her level and have more practice time to not affect her so.
I like the Performance and for everyone takes the venture to performing in a stage is honoring and respect. Bach - si clear-minded to be so perfect and pure .
This appears to be the encore from that breathtaking Bruch Concerto performance. It would be nice if we could see this this encore at the end of the Bruch as it originally appeared. It would put this fabulous concert in better context. As you might guess I'm in total awe of Hilary's performances and music. If only I could have shared these performances with my Dad. He would have been super impressed as well. Hilary, you are a treasure !
She just came on, blew everyone's mind, then walked off, like a boss.
She is a boss
@@sportstalk6027 Boss of music 🎶
Need to cleanse my ears after listening to "violin performances" on americas got talent
Performances should have the quotation marks too.
lmao
Hello guys !I would like to share my piano account for all of you if you like music🎵
Dude, you roasted so hard!
Sacrilegious
All the grade 7 violin abrsm students are crying right now
definitely not me🙄
Oh, I feel that so hard
Even the grade 8s
Zhuoyan Fu even the diploma LTCL's
and grades 8, 9 and 10

That bow raise at the end is such a boss move! Like "this is fabulous and yo all agree that" hahaha

she's such an amazing artist. She gets better than her bach recordings in her twenties though they were already at the level of masterpiece.
Her solo Bach recording was from her *teens* not her twenties. ;-)
She had just turned 17 when the first part of that recording was made.
@kesofat well time is relative anyway according to Einstein and as such tempo is as well :-)
@@pvandck And it´s still "the shit"...quite amazing really.
She was 17
The way her fingers move is mesmerizing
Her beauty alone is mesmerizing. I could watch her for hours on end and never tire.
I can imagine Brett right now having the "SENPAI" face xD
lmaooo 💀

you really get the feel of what Bach wanted the piece to sound like in every note...just brilliant
Hillary Hahn + Bach = Perfection!
She just breathes life into this partita. Her playing is so elegant and beautiful!
I just discovered this woman, and already I love her! What a talented musician!
A wonderful musician. Getting better every year. Thanks.
Like the best wines!
Now a Grade 7 exam piece being played like grade 1 difficulty
Grade 7? Always thought this was one of the easiest movements in the set
@@rayancharafeddine4982 Suuuuuuure. :D
It's not that hard to play actually
@@sergejvasiljevitsjrachmani2808 playing is one thing. Phrasing and expressing it like she does is another!!
@@elinzme exactly! I saw the sheet music and bought it was quite doable, then heard her play and now I'm gobsmacked
I’m 13 and learning this Partita. How she makes it look this easy I will never know...
Keep practicing.
This is the easiest movement in the partita. If you’re starting from the start it’s harder cause of the preludio
I'm learning gavotte en rondeau as well as the giga rn, I'm 14 and have been playing since I was 10, you can do it
I’m also learning this piece, this piece makes me dance 🕺
@@JohnDoe-sx2ij looks easy it’s actually hard
Hilary plays so graciously. So much class!
perfectly clearness......
maybe the beautiful partnership of the two
金正恩❗
She is the purest... she is art..
this is how bach should be played, with simplicity, thank you Hillary!
Am I the only one who has to study this for a music exam? Im so happy I chose music for my subject cuz now I get to enjoy studying
Me too haha
Me to bro
Abrsm!?!?!?
Same here lol
I'm here for that reason so I can listen to her recording and play hehe
Same
This lady keeps impressing me. Will there ever be a better violinist?
Merlin Mijdus She and Vengerov are the best
Sure. There are already "better" violonists right now (though "better" is to a large degree subjective and meaningless).
Try James Ehnes
It’s hard to determine (between violin virtuosos) who is the best because they’re all very very skilled I think what you mean is that you prefer Hilary’s playing than the others.
Erik G Joshua Bell and Sarah Chang
Damn what a fire-ass gigue 10/10

How can you not love her.?!
She plays Bach wonderfully.
The best violinist forever 😊
You play so good that you made my baby sister fall asleep 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

This is the greatest interpretation of this piece i have ever heard.
I got to hear the lovely Mrs. Hahn play this as an encore today at Symphony Hall! Thank Mrs. Hahn, you are an inspiration!
she´s amazing
To think that she is just now entering her "prime".
I agree with you...incredible musical intelligence.
she was in her prime when she was 15
Yep, she is definitely in her prime, alright. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Das ist absolut dämlich in diesem Zusammenhang! Kannst Du die Gigue besser spielen? Wenn ja melde Dich bei mir, sonst halte die Klappe!

The way she lets the music start flowing is just incredible.
Hilary is "the goddess of the violin..."🎻🎼🎵🎶
Such an amazing violinist.
This is so pure thanks Hilary
With much love,I must express my gratitude in you’re performance,,,thank you for bringing this price to light ,,Bravo
Beautiful !!!
BACH with beauty of MOZART. ......wow !
Estas mujeres bellas y talentosas en verdad son contadas con los dedos de Las manos en todo el mundo
That beautiful inimitable sound!
In my opinion, Hilary seems to shine even more without the orchestra.
She fits her performance to suit the orchestra. She typically only gets two rehersals with any given orchestra for a piece. The orchestra would need to be on her level and have more practice time to not affect her so.
I think the great ones do (shine more without an orchestra).
The Orchestra was missing. Ist was Boring and she needed a Bit 🤏 More emotion
Walter Kötke no she didn’t the performance was absolutely perfect
Walter Kötke A Partita is performed solo not with different instruments
And to think that this was an encore after playing Bruch Violin Concerto no. 1🤯
I like the Performance and for everyone takes the venture to performing in a stage is honoring and respect.

In my opinion, just superb playing. An artist on her own. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Por Dios qué belleza !!! la música, la interpretación y la señorita también,
