What a lovely place! .... Side Bar: It mystifies me that most of these cabin entryways do not provide a place to hang jackets and floor mats for muddy, wet shoes. Yes, it may slightly impact aesthetics, but the lack of functionality is so inconvenient for guests as soon as they walk through the door.

I agree... it's often been sonething I notice, and also, that a LOT of " non- cabin " homes also suffer from that same thing ...No place to hang a jacket. Etc.
Hooks! Hooks! Hooks! Always my pet peeve in hotels or motels or wee cabins. Never enough hooks. But this place is lovely. Need to look up price and how to get there. ❤
As an ambulatory wheelchair user myself it really is great to see a place suited to wheelchair access 😊 The outside colour and design was gorgeous too 💚🖤❤

Beautiful. I tell people all the time, 1000sf is perfect for small house. If it’s designed well there’s plenty of space.

Dahlonega is about 37 miles from Toccoa, Georgia.

I worked with people with disabilities and stayed at hotels that were supposed to be wheelchair accessible. This is one of the best I have seen and it looks beautiful to. Very nice job to whomever designed this.

As an aging American, glad to see the ADA option and single floor plan. I'm watching my Mom and Grandmother struggle with the stairs in the old Family Home. Guess a future of independent folks 80 and 102 weren't considered in the 1950's.

Pine 1x12s. It'll get beat up over the years since pine is softer than hardwood, but in a charming sort of way. At least we hope so!

It is Duh-lon-e-gah, but any way you pronounce it, you are still correct, it is a beautiful place. What a wonderful setting and cabin, I absolutely love it! Beautiful space and amazingly thoughtful hosts. Thank you so much for the tour of this cabin and the interesting lesson of local legend too.
As a resident of S.A. and former baseball player from the class of 93' I can say both St. Albans and Nitro are lucky to have seen such a great ballplayer and gentleman make it to the big show!

This one's so impressive in many ways & I'm pretty sure I could absolutely live in a place like this, decor & furniture included! The many thoughtful accommodations for accessibility which all fits so well in the design of the whole place. Absolutely love the reclaimed wood & flooring & tabletops milled on site, as I think local & only what's needed is best. Is there any other way to contact the owner re: building plans? I'm not on social media

This looks like a pleasant retreat for a B&B, though it lacks storage for full-time use. The accessible bathroom for one bedroom is a good idea, but the other bedroom has the trendy tub that is awkward for showering, and has a gap where one might drop the soap or shampoo. Still, it's nice to have a tub for those that prefer it over a shower.
If you're showering, the curtain (draped inside tub) would keep shampoo/soap/water from entering gap. Might have to use two shower curtains, shortened a bit at bottom. At least that worked well for me in an apartment I rented that had a claw-foot tub. I used two white (waterproof material type/not plastic) shower curtains/liners and two sets of rings.

The north ga mountains are full of native American history! The enemy warrior you speak of is Waleska. Which is actually a city located in Cherokee county. It's where the Funk Heritage Museum is. It's a free to enter Native American museum. I also know you stayed in blue ridge before which is right next to Ellijay. Which has a lot of history with Chief white path. Just some really cool history to go along with some beautiful places to stay.
If I hit the lottery, I'd build a place exactly like that. Who needs a huge manson?

If my 1299 sq ft comes in being to much money for me. I would love to have this as an alternative with out going thru an architect doing another set of plans. Nice place but I am not a fan of white walls for cabins. Maybe some wood or some darker paint colors. Also they should cover under sink with some doors, farther back, to cover pipes, but still have chair access.
Even a a nice thick enough curtain nicely and specifically made to cover piping..❤

I grew up in Gainesville, GA, just south of there. and have spent much time there. Don't feel bad, you're still saying it wrong. The way I was taught to say it is sound it out like this
"Duh Lawn Uh Guh" Sound all 4 syllables out slow a few times, then say it in one quick move. That's how you say it with a southern accent anyway. :)

It is pronounced Dah long e ga, I live about 30 miles from there my youngest daughter graduated from the University of North Georgia which is located right off the square. It's a great town
Why is the ramp not covered? Small cost, big return. If associated with a plant wind break and connected to a car port the way from vehicle to front door would be ice and snow free.

Duh (short u sound) - la (like fa-la-la) - na (like an 'ah' sound - gu (like gut without the t).

My in-laws built and owned the 'Airie' which is the cabin the sits on the hill across from the lake.

The outside is very cool and I'm not into thst sort of Architecture, but this looks nice.
The layout, however, is odd and its bad Feng Shui to have ones kitchen placed right when one walks in the door. That " Fireplace " is not really a Fireplace... you build a Cabin.. BUILD A REAL FIREPLACE.

Eh.......it's very sparse. Not as warm and inviting as it definitely could be. Has a lot of potential though. Lacking headboards, hard seating, etc...after a couple years of profits I hope they'll be able to add more❤
Can't store enough firewood to keep you warm. NP! There's plenty of room for jumping jacks. Hup! Hup!
