How do I find work in energy policy? What kind of skills are needed for our net zero transition? What’s it like working in Northern and remote communities? Our conversation with Heather Semotiuk on April 19th will answer these questions and more.
Heather is currently a manager in the Government of Yukon’s Energy Branch, leading a team focused on two priorities: to establish the legislative, regulatory and policy frameworks to reduce sector-specific greenhouse gas emissions and increase clean energy options across Yukon; and to undertake research studies and pilot projects that might identity new emissions reductions opportunities. Prior to joining the Government of Yukon, Heather worked at Natural Resources Canada and Smart Prosperity Institute. Heather holds a BSc in Environmental Science from Dalhousie University and an MSc in Environmental Governance from the University of Oxford.
Speaker: Heather Semotiuk, Manager of the Low Carbon Transition Unit, Government of Yukon’s Energy Branch
Host: Kirstin Pulles, Community Engagement Manager, Efficiency Canada
