That's not what happened to my dad, he's been hanging for 4 days now
is he dead??
@@RageX669bro do you not get it💀
Crazy bro 👨🏻🚀👨🏻🚀👨🏻🚀☢️☢️☢️
@@RageX669 I think he's just doing a neck workout, because he s been using a rope instead of a bar
@@Cegorach-The-Clown he's too good for this world
5 minutes is a long time but I do usually hang after an upper body workout for 30 seconds and it definitely helps
It doesn't matter how long, the 5 minutes in the video is collective 5 minutes spread throughout the day (like the greasing-the-groove method)
I recommend making it slightly difficult each day, like going just 3-5 seconds more than what your longer hold in a single hang can be (if it's too long to incorporate in your routine, ignore this all)
Jesus loves you all!
Remember that He died and rose up again for you to be in heaven with Him! Believe on His name and repent of your sins and be saved!
Have an amazing day ❤️😊😊
@Gg Grow up! Jesus clearly don't love Ukrainians
@@Gg-ij7li amen 🙏
Yeah no same, I always do 30 seconds
Another great benefit is improving your mental strength, while hanging your mind will give out way before your body does, but if you really push yourself you'll be surprised how much longer you can last.
Good point
Definitely fixes posture , back pain and you don’t shrink as you get older.
❤❤❤
This new type of videos are very interesting.
Keep up the hard work!
Great, this is exactly what I needed. I feel my shoulders some times after workouts and if this actually works I will test it out, thanks guys!
Hanging fixed my bad shoulders. When I first started I couldn't do a 1 arm hang at all, now I could 1 arm hang 1 min +. That allowed me to dominate my local hang challenge for almost 3 years. I don't hang as much anymore like when I trained for the 2 min hang challenge since it is painful to hang for long periods of time & I'm working on my next goal to get the 1 arm pullup if my tendons get better.
*When my tendon get better*
@@simexGG I was a dumb a$$ & injured the tendons on both arms over extending @ the bottom of a muscle up. That was 3 years ago, the left arm is healed now but right arm still isn't 100% pain free. That's why I did allot of dead hanging since the tendons in both arms were so bad & I couldn't work out for about 2 years. :(
Interesting- as it completely wrecked my already bad shoulders
@T Smoke you have to start out slowly & keep increasing your time hanging after a good warm up & stretching prior to hanging. I had bad problems with both shoulders & it hurt to raise marks above my head & my shoulders would make crackling noise. My right shoulder was badly dislocated during a basketball game years ago. I couldn't sleep on my right side for about 6 months because it wanted to pop out of place. I guess everyone heals differently.I wish my tennis & golfers elbow would heal because it has been bad for years & I don't play either sport.
@@targeted1948 sounds very similar to my story.
I think you’re right though. I was probably too quick to try beat hanging times.
I’ve got some physio booked to look at an old injury, hopefully that’ll help
Hanging and climbing saved me. Badly impinged shoulder, ortho wanted surgery. Pain was excruciating. Couldn’t sleep. It was a mess.
Now I do 1 minute one arm hangs and a decent amount of regular pull-ups.
Thanks for reacting to my video 🙂
Hanging is definitely underrated and deserves more recognition.
I just checked your channel. It does have some nice videos

Same here!!!! Every day hanging 5 min no shpulder pain, and i have a big problem with this!
Im 40 yr old and recomanded highly!!!
Hanging from a chin up bar for 3 x 20 seconds with 1 minute break between each exercise ( in the beginning ) helped me heal faster from shoulder impingement.
I also massaged my front and back shoulder with a tennis ball and used ice pack 2 x 20 minutes daily.
My friend with the same diagnose ( almost the same time we experienced it ) who didn’t do anything other than take painkillers and hope his doctor would fix it is still dealing with a stiff arm and pain every day.
I told him how the technique I was using really worked , but he couldn’t be bothered to do anything himself, leaves it to the doc, so as the saying goes; don’t throw pearls for swine. 🤷🏻♀️
For anyone with shoulder impingement or frozen shoulder please know that hanging from a chin up bar is causing some pain in the beginning, there are 2 questions you have to remember
1. Is my body okay with this
2. Is my body okay with this tomorrow
- In the beginning you might not be able to hang freely, so if it makes you feel safer just bend your knees, as you start to heal you can feel when you can let go of the feet completely.
I also really recommend buying a magic gel shoulder ice pack. I got mine from German Amazon. Magic gel ice packs also comes for thigh/hip/ back/neck and arm. And they’re durable.
Hanging like this every day ( or every other day if you have a damaged shoulder ) have helped some people so much that surgery wasn’t necessary, how about that 🙂👍🏻
Fixed my bursitis in my shoulder. Way less tighter lats and chest. Better overhead mobility.
I just do 2 min pronates grip and 2 min supinated
Congrats on another banging video
*hanging

Anecdotally it worked for me. After weeks of physical therapy 2 times a day I stopped and just tried hanging it it had the best results for helping my injured shoulder along with other stretches and strengthening exercise

I will do from everyday from now on. And while hanging you can also do other exercises!

The grip strength is correlated with life span likely due to being able to perform ADLs. Slipping and falling is likely the biggest risk but you can imagine if someone can’t wipe their own ass that their condition would deteriorate much faster than it would otherwise.
Do hanging increase height
Can you guys talk about hand rips, hand care, etc. When I do too much hanging, my hands rip. Prevention ideas?
it’s okay if they rip they show how much hard work you’ve been doing and i personally find it attractive otherwise just use gloves
if u dont hang or grips bars regularly (grip bars as in hold em for example in a barbell curl or deadlift or bench press or chinups) u probably dont have calluses.... go slow (day one hang for 0.5min, day two a lil more day three even more according to ur pace) and build ur calluses. and if u stop hanging for long ur calluses WILL go away so keep that in mind.
I tried to prgress real quick to build my calluses and ended up riping parts of my soft-not-used-to-hanging, skin on my palm that stopped me from hanging until they healed/ you can learn from my mistakes :)
mind ya once u get the calluses ur hands wont be ripping lol (unless u work out so much that u need to trim ur calluses)
The biggest reason why (I think) not more do this is that everyone can do pushups and situps at home. But far from everyone got a pullup bar in their home.
My friend has a pr of hanging for 5 hours straight. Without hands tho
.
rip

What about standing on a chair or using long bands to help you if you're too heavy for your current muscle power?
What happens if you tense your arms for most of the time like you guys do? Is there any benifit to that or is it for other reasons?
i just got a hangboard for rock climbing training, cant wait to set it up and start hanging every day.
I legitimately just watched this video yesterday

I have buyed pull up bars for home and its crazy how much my back have grown since. I do it every evening. :)
Hanging has helped me a lot with my escolioses of 20 degrees
When I started doing exercises while hanging is when I went from looking strong to being strong. That increase in grip strength is no joke!
About 3.5 years ago I got some pretty bad brain damage is a car accident. It caused my neck to twist and flex uncontrollably and my spinal structure collapsed. It’s taken a lot of work but now that I can train under the bar again it seems to be the very best thing I can do for my body
Hang in there man, hope you recover soon. Best wishes
@@rmbc1971 thanks for the warm words! Im on a mission to prove what’s known about my condition to be wrong and it’s going awesome 👏 😉
I laughed so hard,i get hang as they hand themselves, and when i heard "You can add it to your morning routine, just get out of bed, stretch a bit, then hang" sounded so funny and despressing💀💀
I remember the grip info from the show Brain Games. They said that people with poor grip strength were more prone to injury which in some cases led to loss of life.
I gotta tell ya i had shoulder impingement so bad i quit working out any lifting caused my shoulder to burn so bad it was affecting my job- starting hanging literally about 10 secs was all i could stand 3 days later no shoulder pain! Im up to a minute plus now still zero shoulder pain once i get up to a couple minutes im going start doing one arm hangs.
I try it today, could do max 10 seconds (only 200 pounds but obviously no grip strength, haha).
Same! Can't get anywhere near a minute let alone 5!
so... where is the part in which you cover, what a good form of hanging really is? I mean; do you just let go of al tension in the body, or do you have to engage your scapula muscles? And what about your spine and pelvis position? Is there anything that could possibly damage instead of strengthen/heal the shoulders or body in general?
I would love to hear :)
A hang when I'm rock climbing is the opposite of a hang when I'm at the gym. I'd be curious as well.
first of all,get a stool
Step 2: get some ropes
Step 3: hang
@@sunset1394 I really hope you are doing alright ❤️
good form of hanging is letting every tension of your body go beside you grip, and grip as hard as you can so you dont swing and do not let yourself hang on the fingers your knuckles should always be pointed upwards. also importent is do not jumb down after the hang, go slowly back to the ground because after the decompression of your spine you can hurt youself when you jumb down
grip strength can help with "daily" activities
The swapping of T-Shirt colors got me XD

Hanging definitely helps my back and shoulders recover from all the time I spent at a desk.
Also the grip strength gains are pretty nuts.
Do hanging increase height
Working at a desk is horrible for your shoulders because they are forward all the time. When I use to work at a desk all day on the computer it got to where I could hardly put my dress shirt on in the morning because the nerves in my shoulders were being pinched when I tried to lift my arms up. Even today I don't do allot of bench press because I don't want my shoulders pulled forward & have shoulder pain again.

why were ur tshirt colors swaped at 3:35
Do you have to hang for five minutes in a row like non stop or can you take breaks between minutes
for beginners, I recommend starting with 15 seconds per set and as many sets till failure. as you progress and get stronger, gradually increase time spent hanging (15, 20, 25, 30 etc) I started hanging everyday for 6 months now and i can now hang one handed for 18 seconds.
@@mr.brightside7496 It took you 6 damn months to hang one handed for 18 seconds while i could do more then twice that amount of time as a beginner

What if you do not have a high surface to hang from? I do not think a door or the door frame is a good idea.

What if I want to only do it in my room so, no one sees me? Are there alternative pull-up methods without equipment or a different exercise that works the same muscle groups?
