I bought the Scetchnote book/tablet yesterday on Prime Day, having never heard of it before. I struggle greatly with typical learning methods, yet this really caught my eye, as I have a book bursting to get out of me! Alas, I cannot draw which is one reason I find your videos not only welcoming, but also highly engaging. Thank you.

Great tips. I've decided (at the age of nearly 46) to completely change the way that I'm learning. It seems I've been doing it all wrong all my life. Since my usual way of notetaking and trying to pound it into my head doesn't work at all, I will now try to learn holistically via Scott Young's programs. So far It's working a lot better and I just got started! It's kinda idiotic I haven't tried to do something like this before since I'm a creative and imaginative person. Your tips on how to sketchnote will drastically improve my learning. Thank you.

Awesome video! Thank you for posting it. What really helped me when I started was having a sketchnote kit that traveled with me everywhere. It included most of the tools you mention in the video, but they were all ones I was comfortable with and that I didn't have to think about when making a sketchnote (i.e., allowed my focus to be talk/lecture and not on the tool).

Nicely presented and narrated. Might I suggest, about the index cards: when you're about to toss a used one in the recycle bin, instead just cross out the old handwritten idea(s) with a simple diagonal line, then flip the card over to the blank side, and use it a second time.

this is really cool I had a general idea of this that I have been using with my home school children, we have index cards, illustrations, timelines, and essays. This helped me to see that we can take this even further and really build our notebooks! thank you!

    Hello :D
I was wondering, if you are someone who is using Onenote, is there anyway to continue doing sketch noting if you don't like drawing on a screen (i'm great at sketch-noting and drawing in real life but not on a digital surface XD)? Or any tips/tricks? Thanks!

Hi Doug, I'm watching videos to prepare for studying a couple of topics. I thought there was a video of suggested/sample imagery to use, but I can't find it. Also, I'm studying a programming language. Need to create imagery for a given function.
For example, input/processing/output related to a function. Also, the rules/constraints of using a function. Any existing videos for that or any suggestions?

After researching your videos, did find one on icons. Did provide some ideas, but still looking for a good structure to use while studying programming and taking notes while reading a book.
