I commend the Israelis in general and the Mossad, in particular, for getting a hold of this piece of human shit. Personally, I would have preferred him to be executed upon arrival in Israel. As far as I am concerned, the court procedures only allowed this weasel to plead his actions based on distortions and lies. As the brilliant Hannah Arendt so succinctly stated: "He exemplified the banality of evil."

Today, people Judge based on sentiment. Using his scale, a liberal judge today would allow Eichmann to go free on parole. Others, who deceive themselves, hide behind mindless platitudes like: I can't judge Eichmann because the Bible says, "Judge not that ye be not judged." Of course, that is not what the Bible means. These religious sentimentalists would free Eichmann and cast his victims to the emotional crematoriums of the world. Learn this: no monster appears to be a monster. Outwardly, they are cultured, polite, well-educated and likeable. Like you. Most serial killers are not the kind of people who are serial killers. Yet they are serial killers. Such was the case with Eichmann. Therefore it is written in the Scriptures: "Judge with Righteous Judgement." This is what the court did. Whether Eichmann was antisemitic or not is irrelevant. Whether he wrote the orders or obeyed orders is irrelevant. The fact is that he committed heinously evil acts and facilitated heinously evil acts. And for that, he was hanged. Now, he awaits the Judgement of God and an Eternity in Hell. Only then, Divine Justice will be served. Afterward it will be your turn. How will you fare before God? You don't have to be condemned (as you are now). You can be saved from an Eternity in Hell. Read The Gospel of John, Chapter 3 (especially verse 16).

I've found the movie rather weak. Politics aside. Duvall, who is an excellent actor, plays Eichmann as such a mild man, a viewer is almost sympathetic with him. I am trying to be objective here, writing strictly about a movie, not Eichmann nor a Jewish dilemma. I think the problem is with the script not emphasizing his role in a war enough. He looks just like what he became -- a simple civil man without a past, who was simply doing what he was told. The ignorant viewer who didn't read about the WWII might just believe him.
The Mossad captor's behavior, raging from interrogation to nightly hysterics was also not very convincing, or rather badly acted.
I just didn't like the film overall, again, strictly my opinion about the film and only about it. Watch for another movie on the similar topic,"Mr. Kaplan" (from Uruguay), clever, well made and absolutely delightful!

I have very serious issues against the Israeli government of present but because i am a historian of this period I cannot ever state that Israel has no right to exist!
The systematic and inhumanity exhibited against the Jews and other victims of the Nazis is this planets darkest moment! These people who captured this man showed what real courage is- to face the so called ‘banality of evil’ and manage not seek personal revenge is amazing!
Eichmann deserved his fate 100x over but his trial laid before the world the outcome of allowing an ‘otherness’ to be created within society! We all must guard against a slide towards it again!
A lesson that Israel must be a beacon against suffering and for strength not what it has become- a land of illegal occupations, otherness and the demonising of innocents and Jews who wish to hold the higher the beacon that those in the past spilled blood to create higher!!!
Courage is not always action, its sometimes the ability to withhold action for the greater good! This man is such an example of decency, humanity and courage!

Eichmann should have been shot on sight. I know a trial had to held for this heartless animal. My German relatives who got out of Germany in 1900's eventually made their way to Oregon the rest Monterey ca. were still singled out because they were German due to awful people like Eichmann and Hess and of course Hitler. In 1943 my grandmother in passing was speaking German in Monterey to a friend in San Fan. on the phone, someone overheard her and thought she was in alliance with the Nazi's and turned her in! She was actually questioned by authorities. This man talking was great thanks for posting good interview.

Which nation do you currently live in ? Still Poland ? Your cousins were killed during the German invasion of that nation ? I always felt the deepest sympathy for those murdered in Poland, and at the same time, the deepest anger toward the murderers who acted with unutterable savagery in the occupation of Poland.
Poland was a nation treated with callousness by both the Germans and the Russians at that time. Timothy Snyder's works make this clear and are worth reading.

Nuremberg was post-war and main trial was held by US, UK, France and USSR militaries. Later Nuremberg trials including the Nazi doctor trials were conducted by US because Nuremberg was in the US occupation zone and were from 1945-1948.
