    School also doesn't teach you about investing and growing your money.

  • @JP-zk3yo

    I can't believe they don't teach basic psychology and sociology in school, it's like they don't want students to succeed, they want them to be the working class.

    • @chunkymonkey2285
      @chunkymonkey2285 Před 5 lety +5

      Tell me one job that relates to psychology, and sociology that isn't in the working class. And DON'T say starting a business, because knowing about psychology, and sociology is almost useless compared to many other things.

    • @JP-zk3yo
      @JP-zk3yo Před 5 lety +59

      @@chunkymonkey2285 Every single job in the world relates to psychology and sociology, because you need to interact with other people. The state of mind right now is ''I don't need to change, I am who I am, if you don't like me it's your fault, not mine''. It's not about changing your personality, it's about improving it. Everything in the world is about personality. The better your personality is, the more successful you will be.

    • @chunkymonkey2285
      @chunkymonkey2285 Před 5 lety +1

      @@JP-zk3yo I agree with you that personality is important in many different jobs, but the school system can't change your outlook on life; also many teachers do teach their students about the Growth Mindset. And besides if psychology, and sociology were actually important in getting a job (rather than the information you need to know to get a job) how come most people have a job, and how come the world functions the way it does. And as an addition, are you saying that there should be a class that teaches people to have a "better" personality, as that doesn't and never will exist, as there is no such thing as a "better" personality. Our world relies on diversity.

    • @JP-zk3yo
      @JP-zk3yo Před 5 lety +7

      @@chunkymonkey2285 Again, it's not about changing your outlook on life, it's about improving it. It has nothing to do with change. This whole mindset of ''I don't want to change who I am'' is the problem, and probably the source of all the racism problems and victim culture.

    • @chunkymonkey2285
      @chunkymonkey2285 Před 5 lety

      @@JP-zk3yo It is not really a big problem right now, what you are talking about is the fixed mindset, and you say that school systems should teach us about the growth mindset, and not only do they already teach most of us, but many people don't just walk into an engineering class, and walk right back out because they can't understand it. Many of the most successful people have terrible personalities. That's just how the world works.

    • @equation2764
      @equation2764 Před 5 lety +69

      Answer:😇😇
      I really think that school should prepare you for life. Because parents who are already in a poor state will obviously have a poor mentality which will lead them to take poor decisions and eventually they will prepare their children for the world very poorly..
      *Notice: I am not saying that every one has parents who are in a poor stage of life. In fact, most parents are well off and have a really good experience about the society as more and more people are getting educated.*
      Whereas in schools:
      Different types of people can come together and share their ideas about the world. By the way this also implies to the teachers. So, all the teachers reading this, please share your views and opinions about the different topics with the students as they need it.
      School doesn't limit to a particular mentality and will prepare their students for the world better.
      If you want to understand it further, you can watch Boyinaband's Answers to the mean comments in the video where he did a song on the same topic.💯💯
      At last: There are more than two options for becoming better. And one of the best one is CZcams itself. (and also you)
      By the way, I am a student from India, so I have to say this:
      Jai Hind Jai Bharat🇮🇳🇮🇳🙏🙏

      I think school because not all or us or in my area few of us have responsible parents to teach us the things we will need. I never learned the basic things I need to know to function in life like how to interact to people for things like going to the store. My friends tought me that not my parents. I am forced to ether teach my self or have friends teach me how to function in society because my parents and brothers could never have. Only thing I learned from them is what not to do.

    The struggle with cognitive dissonance comes from not wanting to change a habit due to a contradictory belief so people will find irrational ways of explaining away their contradicting behaviors vs beliefs. It takes a courageous person to not be a hypocrite and actually change and grow. Most people just stay in cognitive dissonance because it is easier than facing truths and having to change a belief or habit.

      Nancy Neyedly, I'm currently reading Dweck's book on Mindset. It helps with this. As a teenager and a man in his 20's I had a fixed mindset and didn't experience real peace and any meaningful growth, but in my 30's I opened up to flexibility, new ideas and adopted the growth mindset. It has made all the difference in my life. I experience growth and a love of learning on a daily basis due to my growth mindset. If you haven't you should read the book. It's a great read.

    TL;DR
    It's your life. You start it.
    I don't get why others blame school for not teaching them these kinds of information. It's your life... taking a step towards a goal is dependent you not on anyone. If you really want something, you must do whatever it takes. Simple as that.
    The people who complain that their school doesn't provide enough information are nowhere different to those that complain that schools make students, robots.
    Note:
    I agree that some schools do lack the teaching of basic necessary skills such as evaluation and communication or encouragement. But these skills can usually be observed and picked up on from others in an online platform or in the public.
    Interesting Paradox:
    If the education system makes you a robot then does the fact that you can't direct yourself for a better learning experience makes you, yourself, a robot? Or have the effects already settled in?

      aimthemoon quaytalig, all you have to do is do your research on whatever you are considering for purchase. Then find the normal or average price for it and don't buy it at any higher price, especially if you can wait. The businesses/salesmen try to get you to buy immediately so you won't go elsewhere. The idea is to know the item well and not rely on their salesmen for the information and then pay the regular or lower price for it and nothing more. Obviously stick to your guns. I have a degree in Psychology and a Master's in business and leadership. You can even try and reverse it on them to get a lower price. Learn about the object you want to buy and then point out its flaws to the salesmen to bid the price down. You'd be surprised at how often it works.

    Huh, surprised at how much of this I learned while completing my business degree, as I only had one class that strictly included psychology. Neat things to know in every day life tho!

    I went to my towns school who taught basics and if you struggled on a subject you're stuck with it for 4 years. 4th grade I couldn't grasp basic algebra so me and the class to our IQ test, Loudmouth Smart kid and 2 girls were pretty high, mine was a bit higher (8th grade learning level).
    After failing Algebra they though the genius of the class would eventually catch on....... Nope! I was a A+ Speller, Reader, Science, Socioeconomics, Native History.
    But my math was pathetic, I downloaded apps to learn and since I can add, subtract, and multiplication, I use multiply to divide, besides that I can't do denominators at all percentages is so and so, fractions not very well.
    I might use my Left hemisphere of my brain more because I play the piano by ear, write and improvise stories or poems with out a hitch. I know it's the Dominant Part of the brain. As a Seeker of Wisdom and Knowledge, I study so much on why it's near impossible for me to Learn Math and if I do start to understand I forget. Opposite Effect occurs when Writing.
    Also I ignore the Rules of grammar so if any Grammar Nazis start a Tirade, just know I purposely prefer to write this way.
