After removing the two torx screws and I pull out the lever there is hardly any play in it and it comes out half of what yours did. Is there a simpler way to get more slack so I can have enough room to get the cable out of the broken piece..
I just applied my emergency brake and i heard a click and my handle popped out of the dash. It not going in anymore and the emergency brake won’t hold no more. Any possibilities ?
Hi. I was stupid enough to press my P-brake during -15°C and something happened since the wire on the release handle jumped out and the handle itself. Now the P-brake wont engage on +7°C (i only did the 3 clicks with the hand) i mounted back the wire in to the release handle and it just stays pulled out. There is slight resistance on the wire so i guess it did not detach or jump off where it sits. What could have happened? Should i tried pressing the p-brake harder with my leg?
Sourced part from my local Mercedes dealer. £14. Replacing part is exactly as the video details. Putting screws back In can be a little tricky so a second set of hands is handy. Great video, super helpful. Thanks 🙏
people don't use the park brake? so what, they let the entire weight of the car rest on the gearbox while it is in P ?? that can't be good for the gearbox.
Unfortunately most people aren’t mechanically sympathetic as they aren’t aware. These people use phrases such as “turning my car on,” or “my car won’t work” or cannot differentiate wheels and tyres.
Excellent, no messing about video. Thanks
Right!
Thank god you posted this !
Thank you very much!! It's been so helpful to me.
The hardest part is getting the screws back in while holding the lever out while trying not to pop the mechanism out
Legitimately almost smashed the car up when I’ve been doing it in the rain just now 😂

Can you link the video that you mentioned towards the end, regarding the E Brake and why they fail.

Hi, do you know which size torx screwdriver you needed? I used t10 and t15 but they were too small.
T20

Judging by other parking brake videos it;s a sticking spring/wire that needs WD40/grease _ i'll add a link

hi my issue is the handle is loose now. is the cable supposed to be behind the hook inside the dash?
Yes!
How do you get to the cable if it went in?
Above foot pedals, pull down the plastic trim which is held on with 3 torx screws. Then you should be able to find the cable.
