  • Just me again going through the basic rundown on what everything does under the battery settings icon. I really need to start scripting these, going on the fly is a little crazy at times and I know I always miss a few things... None the less, here we are and it gives you most of what you need to understand just how things are and what all they do.
    Check you next time for more settings and as always, please let me know if there are any videos you would like to see in detail.
    Cheers for now.

    I thought the activate check box is for waking up a very low battery that will trickle charge?

    How do you set up for batteries connected in parallel. I have 2 off Sunsynk 5kWh batteries connected to my Sunsynk 5kW inverter. What do you set the DC charging and discharging currents. I am using the BMS connected to each battery. As they connected in parallel do I double the individual recommended values. E.g. 50A x 2 so set to 100A DC.

    Is there a way I increase the discharge of the battery as I am finding my house demand is quite high at some points and can see the inverter pinching power from the grid when I do not want it to

    My battery isn't communicating with the inverter so is just set up by parameters, unfortunatley the inverter cuts off the battery at 30 percent charge, is there a way to lower the discharge voltage cut off and if so can I do it from the menu or do I need an engineer? Also why stop a lithium charging or discharging at a % of charge? The battery is designed and controlled by an on board computer to be charged and discharged to a level.

    I've added a Pylontech US3000C to my existing battery of same type. Do I double the charge/discharge settings, or is the setting for one adequate for both batteries?

    • @backboneenergy614
      @backboneenergy614  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Kiren. Please accept my apologies for this very late reply to your message, I am still new to this whole platform and need to get into the swing of things properly now.
      You can double up on your discharge current for the batteries but remember that the Sunsynk systems have maximum DC discharge currents, 185Ah for an 8kW machine and 115Ah for the 5kW , so you will not be able to exceed that anyway. As for the charge current, with Pylontech US3000C batteries I do not recommend going more than 70Ah on two or more batteries, just as a safety precaution.
      Thank you for watching our videos and please do not hesitate to ask more questions, now that I'm getting the hang of this. 😅
      Regards
      C.

    How do I find the Absorption and Float voltages for my battery?
    The data sheet says the cut off voltage is 57.4v is that the absorption voltage? What would be the float?
    My battery has a BMS that is communicating with the inverter so are these settings required?

    Hi
    Is it possible to prioritize battery charge from PV array only. My elec bill has doubled assuming this is due to grid being used to charge batteries.

    • @AlbertCloete
      @AlbertCloete Před rokem

      Yes, you can set it to charge only from solar. Check in system settings in the first tab. There are checkboxes to select on which times of day it should use solar and/or grid to charge. So you can set it to only charge off grid during the day, but allow it to use grid energy at night if the battery dips below a certain percentage.
      This should also allow your battery to power your essential and non-essential loads at night, up to a point. You can save a lot of electricity costs this way.

    Help please as just had a Sunsynk system installed.
    Should the system automatically export to the grid any surplus once batteries are at 100%.
    Mine seems to show on app that no solar is being produced when batteries are full until a load is put on the house using the battery.Solar production then shows again with none having been exported during the time when batteries were full.
    I am a confused newbie so please help.

  • @rbee3936
    @rbee3936 Před 10 měsíci

    You may be able to set 'shutdown' to 20%, but I tried setting mine to 0%, but it still shuts down at 10% - this seems to be the minimum, so the batteries don't have a depth of discharge being 100% after all (as advertised on the spec sheet), but just 90%, wasting 10% of the battery's charge.

  • @rbee3936
    @rbee3936 Před 10 měsíci

    Why doesn't 'shutdown' work at 0%. It keeps shutting down at 10%, so I basically only have an 18KWh battery not 20KWh as I can't access the last 2KWh...

  • @arccon82
    @arccon82 Před rokem

    Every time my battery drops down to 20% I would like to charge it up to 60% from the grid. . How do I do that?

    • @backboneenergy614
      @backboneenergy614  Před rokem +1

      Hi Karol G.
      If you use the timer function you can set the battery to charge to the set SOC during whatever time as long as you have grid ticked.
      So in system mode, select "use timer" set the SOC to 60% at say 1 to 5am and select grid and that will then do as you want. I know this is a rather common request in the UK with the different tariff times.

    • @arccon82
      @arccon82 Před rokem

      @@backboneenergy614 thats the problem. I do not want to use timer. I do not want to top up the battery in advance, in the Night, as when the day is shiny I want to use solars to top up the battery, so topping up battery from the grid at 5am makes no sense. But on a rainy winter day when solar is not enough and I use more than I charge I would like to be able to top up the battery when it drops to 20%. So basically at any time during the day when battery drops to 20% use the grid to top up. But only when it drops to 20% if its more it should run as normal.
