Catching Deoxys in Pokémon Emerald!

- A video of me catching Deoxys at Birth Island. To get to that island, Mistery Ticket is needed, and it is only obteinable trough Nintendo Events or Gameshark/Action Replay codes. I moved the gray rock until it got red. Then Deoxys appeared. Sorry anything with the English... I'm portuguese.
Even after all these years I still get goosebumps when Deoxys appears, does its cry and the bell rings.
It's appearance in oras at the end was the most epic moment in any pokemon game
the fact that this island has no music makes it creepy. and the fact that this video is 10 years old is even creepier.

If you think about it, this event is really random. You have to go to this random island that is only accessible via an event, do this random puzzle that has literally nothing to do with Deoxys, and then you finally get to fight him at level 30.

Back in the day the developers did not know what they actually wanted with this game to be honest. Look it up if you don't believe me. Torchic for example got developed because Blaziken existed first. They wanted to expirement with Pokémon in this game prior to other Pokémon games. Deoxys is one of those experiments apparently.
@@Barrosy Emerald was made long after RS and this island didn't exist in them - sure Deoxys didn't have a solid lore in-game but they tried to explain what it is in other material.

2015: You ride a fucking dragon megaEvolved, go outside the Earth, destroy an asteroid, save the Earth... but WAIT! This alien/viral extraterrestrial Pokèmon comes out at lvl 80 to fight you. In space.

Far and away the coolest entrance of a legendary in the whole series. The thunder cracking, the triangle shattering into pieces, those HAUNTING bells, with the choir droning… still gives me chills

i love the contrast of how cute and innocent the puzzle seems but as soon as you solve it the music makes you realize that you just unleashed a world-ending threat. Wish they had something like that in newer games but not as an event but just a random innocent side quest or even without mentioning it at all and just letting the player randomly stumble upon it.
I remember watching this as a kid, but I could never get Deoxys on my Leafgreen because the event was long gone and I was pretty sad. It was my favorite Pokemon for a good 5 or 6 years. When I saw the fucking triangle pop out of the asteroid in the delta episode I flipped my shit.

I love just how quiet Birth Island is. It’s what made the encounter with Deoxys all the more memorable. Imagine, you’re a kid in the early 2000s, you just got a mysterious promotional gift from your local game store and you get taken to this triangular island with a strange triangular object. It’s completely silent. You try to grab it, but it moves away, you follow it a few times, getting the puzzle wrong maybe once or twice, but eventually *BOOM!* Deoxys bursts out of the triangle and fights you! I wasn’t around for this event, but god it must’ve been so cool!

My thing is person managed to catch Rayquaza w/o the ball and knew to record so they obviously knew the event they were heading towards. Person could’ve shown something even more awesome but loafed😂😂

Hi everyone, to be honest. I got the rayquaza from a gamesave I picked somewhere on the web. I loved that savegame because it wasn't all cheated, the only cheat it had, was the cheat to get the Mistery Ticket. So I made this video so people could see the way of catching deoxys. Altough, I included the steps we have to walk to the stone of Deoxys get red and then Deoxys appears. I hope you enjoy =D

These days if you have Emerald and a DS Lite with a flash cart, there's a DS rom you can use to enable events while Emerald is in Slot 2.

I'd say this is a perfect example of a really cool video game event that is sadly locked behind a programming requirement that officially happened once in a lifetime that you can never experience nor interact again unless you use a cheat code.

As much as I don't care about Deoxys, this is probably the best buildup to any non-plot relevant legendary.
It's so simple, subtle, but so effective.
You arrive on the silence and interact with the triangle that makes weird digital sounds. After a couple of times you start to get it right and... It's getting.. Red?
And then, the music explodes, along with those digital bits in the background. Deoxys appears while the bell rings, cries, the battle starts, it cries again while the music is building up faster and faster, then you throw your pokémon, with its cry syncing with the actual song, and now you're ready to battle.
It's done better in ORAS, but there is plot there, so I don't think it counts.

Nope. Deoxys was destroying everything to find it's lost brother, and Ratquaza tried stopping Deoxys without knowing that Deoxys was just on a search. Rayquaza was being tossed around. If Rayquaza lost and Deoxys kept searching without Ash to be there, the city would be destroyed, and Deoxys may have not actaully had the power to revert Deoxys 2 to it's normal form cause Deoxys to rampage more. Rayquaza was trying to help but failed terribly, so the job was just left to Ash to help Deoxys 2. That's all I remember up to when Rayquaza just got jumped by both Deoxys.

Why did deoxys change to speed form in the dex entry?
The event was rolled out in 3 games (Emerald, Fire Red, and Leaf Green) all games will encounter normal form deoxys but each will have its different form. Attack Form on Fire Red, Defense Form on Leaf Green, and Speed Form on Emerald. While deoxys isn’t obtainable in Ruby or Sapphire, getting one by trade will alter them to normal form.
I remember a big toy store chain had made an event and gave away the mystery gift to trigger this event.

I wasted my master ball on Kyogre in AS. But fortunately, I caught him in a Timer Ball.

@TheAllahonegod ACTUALLY.you can get rayquaza in emerald during the main story but in Ruby and Sapphire you have to get it after the main story.so it isnt only catchable with hacks

Man, I really don't understand why Deoxys is so damn weak, at this point of the game, you must have pokemon at lv. 50-60, while it's at fucking lv. 30, you can literally kill that thing with a regular 15 PP move, it's THAT weak, and it's supposed to be catchable AFTER beating the E4.
