- This is a linear mechanism with 2 point locking rod, designed to adapt to any type of door such as rise and fall door, one-way door, vertical bi-parting door etc. Ιt can work placed at 90 degrees or 180 without problem, depending on the applications.
I would like to make it entirely out of Stainless Steel 316, but this is a prototype.
Ιt has smaller dimensions than my previous model ( • Garage Lock With Secre... ) and is very hard to be broken by thieves.

Very cool. I love how the unique key unlocks the detents
nicely done!
This looks so good 🙂🙂
This is genius, I need some thing like that ! Patent the latch and sell it ! I need 3 for my front metal door !
Bloody great lock
And bloody great work! This could be easily about 20 hours, but if took less, even more kudos to the author.
I don't know if the author didn't want us to know, but he's just another talented Italian. There are a couple of cues in the videos, one is the steel ruler, the same that I have. Bravo!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏Congrats! Thanks a lot!

My thought exactly before clicing on this video.
👍👍👍 👌
You have used Nylock nuts as locknuts on the connecting rods, they are on the wrong way around, also unnecessary as regular nuts will do for locknuts (also known as "Jam-nuts" by Americans).
The thing is, he has to first put them onto the threaded rod, which means he has to orient them that way because the nylon ring itself isn’t threaded and those nuts won’t start onto the rod if flipped the other way.
Once they are on, he then is actually backing them off to get things to be tight.

I'd love this but for a standard size door only I don't have the stuff or equipment nessary I can possibly try with wood 😂
The wooden lock is interesting alternative way!!! I think ebony would be an awesome wood for this application...
This looks to be smoother operating than your rack and pinion one.
Yes, it works more smoothly than the other one! In the one with the rack and pinion, I did not pay the necessary attention to the tolerances and finishes on the metal. I did a lousy job. I also didn't use brass on the slide parts, which would have improved smooth operation.
@@DrP1289 both are extremely well done. Obviously one had a lot more time and effort put into it. I really like the idea, and might wind up doing it for a shed lock on a property we own that isn't close by. I think this is better than an external padlock.
Hello I want to buy this lock
What do you mean by "back of camera"? Do you mean you did it off camera? Love your work by the way.
I mean I prepare the parts without videotaping them. As I understand it, I used wrong expression.
@@DrP1289 ahh OK in English that is called doing it off camera (something you are currently doing), or did it off camera (something you already did), or prepared it off camera (also past tense).
