    That register will reduce your airflow. Great for aesthetics but I'm not so sure from HVAC perspective

    Hi, if using these Aria vents (metal ones instead of plastic) do you know if, down the road, I need to clean the HVAC system by way of the vents themselves, can a vacuum hose be put down into the frame for the vent that is in the subfloor or are the louvers in the way of doing so? I assume the louvers do not come out from the frame? Thank you, great video! Best regards.

    I saw some posts online talking about how the ARIA Vents do not push enough air out of the vent! How do you find they work with the air coming out of them?

    Easier to trace the vent flange and score the drywall, peeling back the drywall paper layer, rather than having to buildup 3 layers of mud, and feathering it out.

    How do you close it though?

    There is damping and there is “dampening”. One means to reduce or eliminate vibration or more generally, energy. The device in a chimney flue is called a “damper”, not a “dampener”.

    There is airflow but I just feel like there is no way it’s as much as a traditional vent and would prob raise heating costs

    • @fredericdudley6184
      @fredericdudley6184 Před rokem

      Most systems have more than enough air flow and need to be balanced for the best performance. A properly installed system should have dampers in line for regulating the air flow.

    What about airflow? This seems to block most of the air flow …..please explain how this can give the same air flow. Also what about cleaning? How can this be cleaned…..? This looks great, of course, but I will be using these in rentals. Cleaning the vents of mildew is an annual event in Florida.

      You do know heat rises and cool falls right? If you restrict air during the summer it will cause condensation wich turns into mold and yellow stains on your ceiling around the vent.

  • @DanShirley
    @DanShirley Před rokem +1

    you need 4 of these vents for every one standard vent to get adequate air flow

    • @MODERNMILT

      These have great airflow and actually provide a better stream of air from what I have experienced

    • @justinnovy8452
      @justinnovy8452 Před 28 dny

      Correct. From an engineering perspective, anyone that says there is more airflow doesn't have a clue what they are talking about. To achieve the same CFM output of a standard grilles requires 4 times the face velocity which is impossible on a residential HVAC system with a coil face velocity between 500-700FPM. The new Fittes company (formerly Aria) has even admitted this and produced engineering documentation stating the same. The entire HVAC duct system has to be resized and redesigned to use these.

    What if I had one of those old 10in by 12in floor vents?

    Are these metal or plastic? They sell them on the Lowes website but reviewers say they are just over priced plastic? But they sound like metal on the video.

    • @goldscottx
      @goldscottx Před rokem +1

      There are two versions - one is a combo of metal & plastic, and the other (more expensive) is all metal.

    Do not install these registers in your home as they dramatically reduce the airflow out of the register, which can damage your comfort equipment. It is advisable to consult with a professional HVAC technician to understand the impact of reduced airflow and increased static pressure on your comfort system.

    Looks great but has absolutely terrible air flow and no way to direct the airflow to prevent hot spots developing in the house. Have fun dealing with all that extra wear and tear on your air handler due to these extremely restrictive vents. Total waste of money but hey, they make for good pictures and videos on TikTok and Instagram...

  • @number1pappy
    @number1pappy Před rokem +1

    Meh....I mean it really doesn't look that much better . Now if you could have done this without the black frame showing, now that would definitely look better. This just looks like just another vent. The before vent looked really nice.

      @richarddeleo6671 Před rokem +1

      They have that product as well it’s called their flush mount pro but you have to install that before your flooring goes down and the installer needs to finish it neatly. Most floors are not cut to super straight lines because most vents have frame overlap. This particular model he is showing is for retro fit which you want the extra overlap for.
