- Today we are walking around Belfast city centre, the video was taken on June 19, 2022 after 3:00 p.m. Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland, where the British transatlantic steamer Titanic was launched, collided with an iceberg and sank in 1912. You can get acquainted with its history at the reconstructed shipyards of the Titanic quarter, which houses the Titanic Belfast museum, lined with aluminum sheets, resembling the hull of a ship, the drawing rooms of the Harland & Wolfe shipbuilding company and the Titanic slipways, where open-air concerts are held.

I was in Belfast 2017. I love this city. It's amazing how such a place was transformed from war zone between nationalist and religious groups to such beautiful, and peaceful place. As an Arab, I hope people from Middle East can learn from Belfast.

My life was all about Beechmount Avenue as my parents were placed in Beechmount Bungalows 1943
Attended Saint Catherine’s Primary school Falls Road . My brothers went to Saint Paul’s boys school
I sat in school besides Ann McConnell , her Father was the Head Master of Saint Paul’s Elementary Boys school
Oh my Dearest memories are of my walks to the Falls Park.
And visiting The Milltown -Cemetery Also going on the train to Portrush and Bangor
Later in life I did live on The Old Belfast Road Bangor Co. Down. And the night before
my husband an my 5 children were leaving to go to Canada , all our Neighbors and friends , family
Came together outside our lovely home and give us all hugs and good wishes for our Future.
I could write a book on my life in Northern Ireland up to the age of 39yrs when I left for Canada with my family
I now view the video : George Walker, oh so many changes , i do remember when Primark was first opened
At Fountain Lane though my favourite store was always C & A …👏

Maybe in this vid. I was there last year and the amount of rubbish, rats and the general run down nature of the place was a huge contrast to when I was there in 2017.
@@klawlor3659 I think it is UK's lack of funding to make the city cleaner. I wish the UK is a prosperous, clean and more developed country than it is today. 6th largest economy and look at our streets.
@@bruh-ng1ik I personally think we're on a downward spiral. More tax, for less services. 5 hour waits for an ambulance. Infrastructure decaying. I hope things get better but we are a bankrupt nation (officially).

Belfast City Centre has really gone downhill over the last decade, it's not as busy, lots of vacant shop units and the place just looks dirty and lacking investment.
Visit any city centre up and down the U.K., you will find they are the same, a sign of the times, unfortunately.

All you can see is To Let Signs and boarded up Stores. The City Hall needs a really good clean. Looks like it is quite early morning or perhaps a Sunday - hence why you don't see the 'Street People' - drunks, addicts, zombies, Police Cars all over the place! And where's the 'famous Busker, Belfast's Elvis'? Jelvis - is he not up out of bed yet? Lazy Hound Dog!
I am from Sligo Ireland I was born February 1970 in Belfast. We moved to Sligo Ireland during the late 1970s . I haven't been to Belfast since the 1990s the city has definitely grown since then. I also remember visiting Belfast during the 1980s I remember the sign on the city hall back then Ulster says no. I also remember Leisure world toy store. Also remember record stores like Caroline music and making tracks! I think thats what it was called. So memories.

Both Dublin and Belfast built by Irish royalists and Brits
They provided the money but ordinary Irish men and women would have provided the labour to build both of these cities
I don't think you'll find too many Irish royalists in either city. The Irish in general are fans of royalty.
