I like going for brick and wood first because that ensures I can block others and claim areas first.

I hadn't see the dots on any versions I've played, but I actually would draw them on my version if I had one. I don't see any reason why this information would not be public to even out the playing field if there is someone much more experienced playing. It just takes less time then to figure out the best odds for city placement.

Aren't you supposed to not know where the numbers are ? Turn them around then place your first stuff.
Am I crazy or are these NOT THE RULES ?
You are not supposed to now where the numbers are.

Not sure what you mean... Firstly you place all the tokens then you flip them around so you see all the numbers. At this point you make your placements.

@@BoardGameHangover no you make your placements before you flip the numbers. What good does it do knowing where they are before you place you're structures. The whole point is that you DONT know so you DONT KNOW where to place your buildings.
Seriously do you use different rules or have you never looked at the rules ?
Anyone can win of you know where to place your buildings.
Your not supposed to now where the numbers are.
Like serieus that is in the rules at least in the one we play

@@BoardGameHangover if you flip them before placing stuff. WHY do you put them upside down ? If you flip them before ANYTHING. You put them upside down because you don't flip them before hand.

@@BoardGameHangover I'm actually curious wether my game has different rules or you just play wrong and teach everyone wrong.
Cause if you are not wrong according to your rules your rules are wrong. It just doesn't make any sence

@@slade-joseph-wilson1822 we use the official rules. Which can be found here - bit.ly/3Fb474y Maybe you are playing a localized version and they have changed some things. Either way, you can play whatever way is more fun for you. Enjoy the game and thanks for commenting.
