Floor was pregnant with her 2nd daughter, and recently had surgery for breast cancer, and she's still slaying it in her 40's. I'll be eager to see what Nightwish releases this year.
In a rare insight Tuomas recently described his song writing process as starting with a story, envisioning it as a movie and then writing the movie score for it. Which nicely fits your observation.
Great raction Rachel. Those drone-takes were from Kitee, Finland, last summer. That's hometown of Nightwish. That concert was EPIC. I was there with 10000 other Nightwish-fans. Floor was quite a pregnant then but what a show she gave us.

Floor was quite "heavy" there, but still they delivered a full two hours show. ⛄👍

This song has always rocked, but watching Floor so fully pregnant absolutely rocking out while performing, just makes it even better. I also love watching Jukka (bass player) headbanging while playing too.
Seeing Jukka get more comfortable performing with the band was great, he was quite reserved when playing at Dusseldorf in December '22 and seeing him headbang and being more to the front at Gelsenkichen in June '23 there was a big difference. Floor of course was rockin it out and full of energy at Gelsenkirchen even while 6months pregnant as she said.

This is one of the best nightwish videos. Those of us who love the band and don't stick with the songs and Tarja Anette or Floor's band at the beginning recognize it. Floor had cancer, she was pregnant, everything happened to her and she never canceled a concert. I love nightwish and CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU

I almost prefer the tour edits instead of selecting one and staying at one performance. Wonder if Lucy was rocking along with her mother on stage? Good reaction, looking forward to their new album.
This is well done for sure, but I prefer watching them live and not a bunch of synched up clips to some version - just my personal preference. I am curious which way the NW Army leans?
Great reaction, new subscriber here! The nice venue near by the lake in the video is in Kitee, Finland where they had their second last gig so far last June. I was there in the front row witnessing how wonderfully she performed even though she was heavily pregnant. Greetings from Finland!

Polyrhythms, very heavy intervals and soft melodic sequences, ...... its not easy to make these work together in one track. But...they did it well.

I was at the third to last concert in Gelsenkirchen (Germany) that Nighwish gave. There were then two more in Finland. There should have been another one, but Floor collapsed after the second Finnish show and couldn't do it anymore.
For the show in Gelsenkirchen, which was somehow magical, I can only say: How someone can do such a singing and such a performance at this point in their pregnancy is incomprehensible to me...
It was a great and magical evening there, the background of the amphitheatre and the canal behind it with the ships passing as the music played.
My wife who is not a Nightwish fan had got the tickets for my 67th birthday which was a few days after the concert, as we left she asked when we could go again, she is still not a fan but she does love their live concerts :)
Was a hot night both literally and musically, and a few German beers were consumed by this Scots lad :)

You are quite right to note that Nightwish songs always sound thematically: In fact, Tuomas has often said in various interviews that although many bands create songs jamming around different musical ideas, he, on the contrary, never starts writing a song if he doesn't know what it will be about.

Floor is a beast. She had beaten, cancer, got way pregnant and was out there singing like only she can and headbanging/windmilling, like, this is nothing. Most pregnant women in their 7 and 8th months, don't like even getting dressed and going to the store, she was out there doing 1.5 to 2 hour shows.

Nice vid, as always - now i'm here to repeat my suggestion to take a look at Skunk Anansie - Skin is, at least for me, the best female rock voice or at least hasn't got much competition. Songs would be "Selling Jesus", "Weak", "Charlie Big Potatoe" or, for sheer yippie kay yay " The Skank Heads", although it's voicewise pretty simple and doesn't let her put out the full potential
