Is the mount tilt-adjustable? It appears to be fixed in place and might hit risers if tilted more? Thanks!
@chuckwillyduece it is indeed, almost 90° of tilt from the screen pointing straight up to almost 90° facing the rider! Me and marcos work on making sure that it doesnt hit the shaft nut and it clears the risers!
I just uploaded a short showing how much tilt you can do with the mount!

hello, do you know if this speedometer is compatible with the fardriver ND 84680 encoder version, together with the sotion motor?
Is this throttle better than what comes with the lonestar kit? And the dkd display is only for fardriver controllers? I’m super interested in vesc / was planning to order the flipsky but I think I’d prefer to have the display
Im not sure what throttle lonestar comes with tbh. I can tell you its been an awesome throttle though! And the dkd is for any one-line communication controller. Id have to do some research to see if the flipsky can work with it though. In my opinion id much rather have the vesc over the dkd display, and worst case you can buy something like the ct-22 that just runs off hall pulse spliced from a hall wire!
Hey Brandon . I have it blue line hooked up on the far driver . It turns on but doesn’t read the speedo
If its not blue then try solid brown, it will be on a 2 pin connector with a blue wire with red stripe. There are other brown wires with colored stripes so make sure you got the solid brown! Which controller do you have?
Hey man great videos, just curious. What type/gauge of wire do you use for everything but the phase wires?
For all the low voltage or high voltage low amp wires, if I even have to add wires, 20-18awg. Most of the time, throttles, displays, lights, all that stuff already has long enough wires and I'm just throwing on connectors. Unless I'm doing a fully custom harness for a 12v system of course!

Everything is wired up and the speedo isn't working. I twist the throttle and the speedo stays at zero. I didn't have a "brown" wire so I used the light blue wire for the speedo.
It will be a brown wire on a 2 pin connector with a blue with red stripe. Unless you have an encoder model?
Brandon.. do you have to buy a fardriver controller "programmed" to work with this dkd display? (Meaning this have to be setup to work together)
I have a fardriver controller and the dkd display but was told the dkd only works with votol.
I haven't tried connecting it yet but after seeing your video I'm hopeful.
The dkd works with one-line controllers so it will work with both votol and fardriver! And if you have a fardriver purchased within this year it should come with one-line functionality! Depending on your controller it will either be light blue or just recently a few controllers have been switched to solid brown and that will be connected to yellow/white on the display harness.

As long as its a newer version it should be one-line capable! Is it the 72300 s12 with the phase lug cover?

@oneman29 it's possible your controller doesn't have one-line functionality. I don't believe they started including it with all models until last year (2023) but I'm not 100% sure. If it is you'll probably use the light blue wire and if that doesn't work try the solid brown (boost) wire!

Yup! You just gotta get one thats a little over your power goals, the main difference is the sizes, if you dont have alot of space you wanna stick with the lower powered ones.

I have two questions about the display. Firstly, how much does it cost if you order it directly through fardriver? And secondly, is there a way to sometimes have the bike power turned on without the display turned on? With 2 different switches/keys?
It should only be about 40 bucks plus shipping if you go through fardriver i believe. And yeah you can definitely wire the display up to its own switch to turn it off and on whenever!

I am curious though, if the amp dial on the display only goes up to 12x10A=120A, how will it display a battery that is putting out more than that? Also, do you think that the battery drain from the display is noticeable at all? or is it too hard to tell. Thanks
@schmeglyomigy6174 yup unfortunately if you run over 120a you get nothing but maxed out guage 😆 one of the downfalls of all these one-line displays. And you wont notice to much draw, it anything you might see your volt meter drop .1 while its on.
@@EmxBrandon Oh damn that’s a bit of a let down. However, most of the time I wouldn’t be over that 120 amp line either way. That’s good that it doesn’t take too much battery. I had a question about the waterproof/water resistance of the fardriver controller and the waterproof connectors. If you have it mounted in a a razor inside the battery box, and you have the fardriver with the waterproof connectors, are you able to ride through the rain without an issue? The battery I am getting has a water resistant metal case so I’d prefer to have everything water resistant. What do you think the best way is to make sure the razor is safe to ride through the rain?

I stole mine from the red 2 pin for alarm power. It will be a pink and black wire! Theres also a brown with a white stripe and black together on a white 2 pin for reverse, you can also use that black for a ground.

@@EmxBrandon I got the 72450 I think you recommended and a few others did as well 🙏 excited to give it a try, I got the new Kelly with Field weakening but it's not working with FW-11 or the bomb moto Kelly's times just over and I have to get over it lol
@Razorcrew_Cole hell yeah the 72450 with my tune will give the b1 all it wants! The 72300 will struggle turned all the way to 100 amps so i always recommend going overboard a bit 😆
Damn thats a bummer on the new kelly controllers, they looked super promising. Ill be trying out the flipsky here soon, excited to see how it compares with the fardrivers power.

I am using a 60v battery with the DKD display.
My battery capacity on the display is not showing the same capacity as on Fardriver app and on the batteries own meter.
They are showing 80% but the DKD display is showing 6 bars.
I have set 60v in 879 menu and I would like to display a more accurate value and tried the 824 menu but value displayed is set to 72 and when I change to the 100% voltage value of my battery of 67.3 I don’t seem to be able to save this value as I tried long hold on the right button.
Can anybody direct me into how to save the value and I also thought that there would be an empty and a full value to set.
Youve done all you can do with the dkd display. They are pretty terrible as far as the battery read out, so is the fardriver app. Trying to get them to match up is a losing battle. You can probably check your bms app and it will be off from both of those too. I always run a actual volt meter and just use the dkd for speed and to display what mode im in.

Funny enough I just bought a volt gauge to mount on bike.
I found that I could tune the Fardriver app capacity to match battery by using the parameters “Full BattCeoff” and “0 BattCeoff” in the Protect section of app.
When you charge to 100% you can change the “Full BattCeoff” value to make the app capacity meter reflect your battery state and you can also use “0 BattCeoff” when battery is at zero.
@gmcdiarmid thats good info! Did it help the display at all? Back when ibused it on my mototec, it seemed the first maybe 20% of the battery life wouldnt really move the bars until you got down under 80% then it really started moving. Id have to play with it since more recently it seems the fardriver does alot more for the display now. But i had my byte option set so it would drop the bar with voltage sag, it was just very slow to react and level back out.

We are using the QS165 kit with a Surron 60v and a Time ET Moto frame.
We will upgrade to a 72v but the 60v was for us to test.
@gmcdiarmid byte option is under the display parameters in the fardriver app. It used to be labeled with what each option does but now its just labeled 1-8 or whatever. All it does is change the way the display reads certain things like amp draw and voltage. But they change things up so damn much. As far as your voltage sag what is your line amp set too? The time et is a big bike aswell so im sure that surron battery is struggling.

Its exactly that, a controller. Just a different brand, idk how to explain it but im sure a quick google search will help you out!
