      @@DriftingSquirrel I’m just going into college now, the DB9 is my childhood icon, It will be my next car. Currently saving up and I think with my portfolio earnings I’ll be able to get one in the next year or two. I currently drive a Alfa Giulia TI, not sure if I’m going to trade it in or not because I love it so much. I’m gonna go for the coupe, but the volante is a bit cheaper. I’ve heard that the volante is a bit floppy, the convertible chassis definitely is noticeable. And I also prefer the look, the coupe looks amazing.

    Great video, just one thing to add: an Aston Martin DB9 that is 10-15 years old isn’t really depreciating in value. Certainly in the first few years it would depreciate like a mf. To be fair, in about 5 years time it will start to appreciate in value as it gains a ‘modern classic’ status. I just wish I could afford one now 😜

    • @DriftingSquirrel

    Nice review. Came across it when shopping for a DB9. Now that I own the car, like you, I've really come to love it the more I drive it. You see, after chasing and owning sports cars with bigger numbers - power, cornering grip, etc., as I close in towards 60 I appreciate a more complete package for 5-8/10ths motoring. The materials, the V12, the gorgeous body work, even the ZF autobox (everything else I own is a manual) all make getting around enjoyable. Prices are excellent right now to take the plunge, just make sure you get a cared for car, and know there isn't a large owner base or more independent parts sources...worth every penny when you take it up to 6800 rpm.

    • @DriftingSquirrel
      @DriftingSquirrel  Před 2 lety

      Enjoy your new toy. Only thing I'd probably do would be - louder exhaust. The DBS for example, has a louder exhaust and, to me, it's perfect. When you're ripping the DB9 with walls close to the car, you end up missing that sound when there are no walls.

    • @markbellissimo6887
      @markbellissimo6887 Před 2 lety

      @@DriftingSquirrel understood. Must be my advancing age; after chasing louder exhaust decibels most of my adult life I'm content with the stock growl after the secondary exhaust pipe baffle opens. I'm not even going to pull the 22 fuse which leaves it open all the time, which you can do if you like it a little more chutzpah!

    Thanks for the review! Btw, if I'm remembering this correctly, the interior door pulls are purposely made to be unergonomic to your left hand. They're trying to encourage you to use your right hand so that you look back when opening the door into traffic.

    • @DriftingSquirrel
      @DriftingSquirrel  Před 3 lety

      Thank you for the support. If that was really the case, it’s a theory that doesn’t really have practical use, since it’s a low car to get out of and older gentlemen often need to aid with pushing on the steering 😅

      That doesn't make much sense, as Aston Martin is British-where they drive on the left and drivers exit from the right hand door. So one would naturally use one's right hand anyway.
