I’m a quiet fellow coffee in hand follower, but I had to chime in today to say congratulations and thank you so much for all your posts!

Aw thank youuuu for chiming in today Sara! It's so nice to imagine others enjoying these videos coffee in hand. I really should have mentioned in the video that I truly appreciate the quiet viewers as much as those who comment regularly. Thanks so much for your support 🌻🎈

Yes please. I would love a daily vlog of how you study. Showing your routines. Because it sure does work.

I've just finished watching your mini documentary from 2014 'Home'. You sir a brilliant man. You have inspired me to continue on with my language journey. For a 56 year old man I am new to this language journey, but people like you and Steve Kauffman, you move me forward.
You should repost that video. I think many people would draw inspiration from its viewing.
good luck in your journey of discovery and much success to you fellow Brit.
One final note. I think you may be missing your true calling of film maker or documentary film maker. You can see your passion in the film.
Look forward to your future posts and hope that you will do a short video, or long, on a day in the life of a studying polyglot.
    Bonne chance pour la suite.

Thanks so much for this comment, Billy! And for taking the time to watch my mini documentary from 2014. It's honestly so unbelievably encouraging to read that my videos are making an impact and so to read that my content is moving you forward along your language learning journey is just absolutely smashing.
It's also really nice that you were able to see my passion for film making. I still have the same love for doing it and it was indeed quite sad that for a number of years I wasn't able to pursue it to the fullest. But I really feel that now is finally the time to embrace that passion fully again and combine it with my love for these language videos.
There are definitely plans for more short documentary pieces in the near future. Can't wait!

You generate a lot of contagious enthusiasm, a pandemic level. And I don't want to invent a cure for it. I think I'm addicted to your VIDEOS. If you speak in high level of energy [maybe coffee is guilty or your enthusiasm] I can barely keep up with what you are saying but I like it. You help me not to give up when I get sick of learning and lose sight of my goal. Thanks to you I am becoming a better version of myself. Thank you !

Hi Robin. I share with you: the French novel, working in almost-empty coffee shops, and doing another German A2 book from another series before going to B1. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

Thank you for inspiring me to get back into language learning. Honestly, this past month of video watching has been massively helpful - both for my language learning motivation in general, but also to get me through my exam season. Thank you!! Would definitely love to see another month of doing either this or journalling at some point, but I'm also super excited for the regular upload schedule that's to come.
It's also been super nice to see your subscriber count grow! You deserve it! :)

Congrats on your 30 days! For the community project, maybe something like the '30 day record yourself speaking' challenge but instead it's 'record yourself learning'? So each day has a different topic - talk about something you struggle with in your target language, record yourself shadowing, etc etc. They could all be added to one playlist so everyone could support each other :)

Thx so much for all your videos, tipps and tricks... your thoughts and experience. You just opened my eyes and mind. It's all about joy and enjoying the process, the language, the content. It makes my language studying much more relaxed and seeing it differently. Thank you so much 💛 Best greetings from Vienna 🇦🇹

Okay now there are two Romans here ;-)
Thank you Robin for all these highly entertaining and motivating videos :-)
I am so glad you could finish it, that you weren't forced to stop right in the middle of it like so often before.
As you are planning to continue in a similar way, I have a question: Do you apply parts of the methodology you developped for learning natural languages in the field of computer languages or do you see these two topics as completely separate?
And a short one: Are you planning to continue your Korean from Scratch series any time soon? (--> edit: This was already answered yesterday, sorry)
    Thank you!!!!

  • @strensmsproductions4873

I really like your videos!! 😄 So inspiring and well made. I am reading a book called The Culture Map. Where they explain that American retorics is very clear explicit. Tell everyone what you are going to say, then say it and then tell them what you just said.
Although I really enjoy the videos! From a perspective of a non American they seem repetitive. Just wonder if that is something you ever noticed or thought about?
    Best wishes ♥️

    • @jamesdavis-ford6882
      @jamesdavis-ford6882 Před 4 lety

Clearly I'm not Robin but I would posit that any repetition that you might sense is because this series is meant to be conversational and fairly off-the-cuff, rather than scripted. Conversations drift here and there and flow back and forth between the same points developing and progressing as they go. Just a thought and a theory. Cheers!

Robin: what is your regional English accent? In videos rorm 2017 you sound English. Now you sound American. Great videos, by the way!
