I am the only person who loves his Christmas album. It raises a wry smile
I wouldn't say I love it, but I like it, particularly "Must Be Santa."
@@zachmorgenstern3243 I love Dylan, along with David Bowie, he is the singular most interesting musician - singer- songwriter of the 20th Century
@@zachmorgenstern3243I love it as well
That was a good upload, really enjoyed the breakdown of the career although I’d perhaps move a few of those albums phases around it seemed pretty accurate.
But the ranking… all over the place haha! Appreciate you giving honest thoughts rather than just the cliche ranking though. You really think Knocked Out Loaded is better than Street Legal! Under The Red Sky above Time Out Of Mind and Infidels! Why did you choose not to include Shadow Kingdom, and where would you rate it?
Shadow Kingdom came out the day I edited the video! I look forward to listening to it.
Part of the reason my rankings may be unconventional is that I really focus on how it felt to listen to the album start to finish. I liked every song on side B of Oh Mercy, for instance, but they all felt like variants of the same thing, and when listened together became too melancholy.
@@zachmorgenstern3243 That’s fair, I also try to review/rank albums in the same when when talking about all music. I’d highly recommend spending some time with Shadow Kingdom, I’ve seen some mixed reviews but I think it’s brilliant.
Very much like your cutting up of his career into periods.
Agree with number one
