This was literally my first GameCube upload on the channel exactly 7 years (and a day) back. I completed this game many times as I didn't own many games as a kid and due to it's linear levels and casual difficulty I felt like it was a good game to kick the channel off with. Unfortunately the quality was bad which made the game come out quite unwatchable as the colour scheme of the game is pretty dark also. Anyway, this is the new version.. in the best quality you'll get out of the GameCube and in 60fps.
King Kong is one of the best movie games that I know. Back when these graphics were revolutionary, the game really pulled you in. I think the developers knew that too and Jack Black constantly going "Look at this view, it's phenomenal" almost sounds like the developers stroking their own ego on their work.
Anyway, I don't have too much to say about it. It's a good game. This version is released for the GameCube, PS2 and Xbox. There's also a shorter PSP version, an Xbox 360 version with better graphics and even a DS version. You can currently find all but the DS version up on our channel. The DS version will probably be done some day too, but I can't imagine it being as good as the others.

This game was so frightening when I was just a kid. I really felt like I was this weak human stuck in a primeval world. One time I panicked and got cornered by the V-rex and it frightened me so badly that I got up and turned off my xbox. I've never felt more terrified by a game! The next day I resolved to beat the game and that's exactly what I did. I'll never forget the feeling of triumph as I watched the end game credits roll. This game will always hold a special place in my heart.

Man I still remember the late nights with me and my brother playing this, while under the cover of darkness and in the security under my blanket and pillow fort. I normally wouldn't play this game back then cuz it was damn scary but I tried my best to cheer my brother and help him navigate where the dinosaurs/insects/crab/crabs are.
This is the RE4 FPS in a mean speaking, the horror atmosphere is magistrally well done even for today's standard.
Imagine how good a remaster would be

I remember seeing the movie in 2005 when I was only 8 years old with my mom, dad, cousin, aunt and uncle. It was sooo cool, especially for that time. After I saw the film, my mom and I went shopping at Toys R Us and got the GameCube version because GameCube is the dominant console. I beat the game back then and just beat 3 more times recently 😆. Such awesome memories of this movie and the game. It made elementary school more fun too 😂. I recommend this game to fantasy action movie lovers and GameCube fanatics. Shout out to Naomi Watts, Adrien Brody, and Jack Black for a phenomenal cast and to the all mighty Oscar and Golden Globe winning writer, producer, and director Peter Jackson for this masterpiece. I look forward to watching this movie and playing this game again in the future!

---The eerie music of this game where it's just a woman doing a haunting melody sets such an amazing atmosphere that suits how incredibly dangerous that this island is and where no humans should ever be. The overall atmosphere and look of the island is really good, everything just feels so dangerous and like you shouldn't be there.

This game needs to be remade in Unreal Engine 5, along with other forgotton gems like the Van Helsing game, Godzilla Unleashed and so many more, it wouldn't be a waste either because it isn't even funny with just how many people would play the old and new together, both versions should be released at the same time.
Here after checking out the new King Kong game..this is definitely miles above something coming out in 2023.. how disappointing.

I used to play this as a kid, the V-Rex scared the ever living shit out of me and i'd nearly start bawling, great game and I especially remember 1:22:00, that entire section scared the hell out of me
Yet despite all this, I played it over a Dozen times and had to leave my Gamecube on because I didn't have a memory card or lose all my progress

You know, I think this game would be a good candidate for a slightly touched-up re-release on Oculus Quest 2, much like the brilliant Resident Evil 4 VR.

I really wish this game was available for the steam deck.
If I remember correctly, Peter Jackson had some involvement in this and the LOTR games, which is probably why they’re so much better than most movie license games.

It shocks me that a game, based on a popular film, made by Ubisoft, released in 2005 for the Gamecube is THIS ahead of it's time with groundbreaking first-person shooting mechanics. It's sad that newer licensed games are nowadays nothing more than unfinished cash grabs.
