Installing speed feed head on a RedMax 260T. Don't waste time with a old school weed eater head that can be a pain in the butt.Change it out for about $40.
Instructions unclear. Stuck pecker on hole and started trimmer. 2 heads installed. Seriously, though, thanks for the heads up on the blind plug. I've got to put a brush blade on this one, being the free trimmer that came with the mower, it's gonna be my metal blade trimmer for edging and clearing brush, even if it takes 30 seconds to spool up.
Is the spacer that came with the Speed Feed head necessary to put on? I installed a speed feed head on the exact trimmer you have and found that the black spacer created too much vibrations. So, I removed the black spacer and just put the head on the black spacer that came with the Redmax trimmer. It seems to work much better with way less vibrations. Not sure if it's ok to leave it like this?
I would imagine that was the spacer that was a fight to keep centered. Better to use something that stays centered on the shaft because it's the right size, not held in place under tension and possibly being off center enough to be a vibrator.
Great video thanks brother
