Money does matter as long as it can sustain your life, everything more has diminishing benefits. For example, if you were a billionaire and were about to make another billion, you wouldn't be truly happy. True happiness is achieved only by love, and love cannot be bought. Listen to Jim Carrey and how he says that he never was happy, despite all the glory, fame and money. Unfortunately, you have to get to the top and experience it yourself, it's hard to convince you from the bottom of the hill. That being said, you better start focusing on truly important things, because you will waste your life by chasing money, as Pitbull nicely said. Overall, he is right when he says that he's not happier now than he was before the music success. He maybe struggles less, but as long as you have a decent job to pay off your bills and debts, you are on the same plane as anyone rich.

It's VERY EASY to say "Don't do it for the money" when you have millions yourself. When alot of people struggle to afford the basics with the little money they do have. Your advice is only for the Rich. It doesn't apply at all to those who do anything they can to make the money to provide for their Families.
UNSC INFINITY I think it’s easy to invalidate someone because the situation we see pit bull is in right now. But we didn’t see all of the Hardwork he put in. Happiness is rather subjective. Someone can work hard as they do now but still can be happy. It’s a mind set. Because at the end of the day money is only a currency accepted in our current society. But what are we when it’s just all gone? Probably nothing.

This speaks to the human psychology that we have had since we were kids. Money is just an extension of it. You get the car of your dreams...a few years later that car of your dreams is just a car. Now your jaded. The next time you buy a car, your not only not as happy as you were when you brought the first car of your dreams, but now the satisfaction of that car is shorter lived. The cycle continues until the finer things in life is normal and no longer exciting or rare. This is the wall a lot of rich individuals hit. So pitbull is saying love what you do, not how much you make and base your happiness on whats important in life, which are the things money can't buy.

Make a list of some of the things that make you happy, and if many of those things cost money, then money does indeed make you happy. As for myself, I'm happy when I have food to eat, water to drink, and a comfortable and safe place to live and sleep. But the last time I checked, none of those things were free.
