- Back to Camping… FINALLY! In this video, you’ll see our first outing of the year, a late-winter’s weekend over to Petersburg Corps of Engineers Campground on Lake Thurmond. We didn’t make time to hike Bartram Trail when we camped here last summer, so doing that was the “main event” of this trip. Watch as we arrive at our lovely lakeside campsite and then take a little-bit-longer-than-expected hike through the woods around the lake...

Glad to see you guys back out camping. Enjoy!
Thanks! We've got a couple of things "on the books" for the year so far. Sure hope we can cross paths with you guys again and check out your new home!
Wow. Great job Smokey setting the Rig up on that slope! Nice Campground.
Well, to be fair, it was a joint-effort - I'm lost without my "spotter!" Thanks for watching!
💯Great video! Thanks so much for sharing! Happy Trails!
We're so glad you liked it! Thanks a bunch!
Glad y'all were able to get back to camping! That Petersburg COE is really nice! Thanks for sharing! ~ Shion and Matthew
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Glad you're able to start getting out this year 😊 looked like a beautiful place to explore!
We lucked out weather-wise that weekend, too. We just wish the trail map hadn't LIED to us about the length of that leg of the trail we took 🥵 (...and we wish Uber would've come out that far and fetched us...).
Really nice video! Thanks for sharing
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
@@LiveNLearnRV no problem! We really enjoy making outdoor content also
you get a "like" for the Van Halen reference. also, congrats on the employment!
Thanks! We'd have dropped in a clip from the "Hot for Teacher" video if we weren't worried about a copyright strike... 🙄
Glad to see Jessie is healing up. I learned a new word...janking! We still have 16 inches of snow in the yard. Glad your back.
Well, if you look in the dictionary, you'll see the proper spelling is "JANKING," but that's neither here nor there. 😉 Thanks, Scott! (Y'all can keep that white stuff, by the way...)
Great video!!! Can't wait. Still a little cold in Indiana!!
Let's all say it together - "C'mon, Spring!!" Thanks for watching!
My husband and I are recovering from sumac. We had beautiful weather and decided to get rid of a Bush next to our driveway and it had sumac growing in it. Had all the protection it failed. May we are going to military camp ground in VA beach two weeks. Then we are going to lake Hartwell in June for two weeks. Enjoyed your video hope the adventures will keep coming.
Whew! We're glad you're recovering, too! You'll like Lake Hartwell - no poisonous ivy/oak/sumac there that we can recall. Thanks for watching!
Found you on the FB group and we just love hiking. This looked like a nice hike.. watched in full, liked & subscribed.. Chasing RV Sunshine Joel, Deb & Maya
Hey, thanks!! Glad you liked it! Bartram Trail has enough trailheads that wimps like us or more "hardcore" hikers can make use of it.
We recently stayed at our first COE... I was so impressed I got a book called "camping with the core" Love those parks
Oh yeah! We hope to find more CoE parks, too. There's a few around here we're yet to try.
I’d love to see a map of all the campgrounds you two have been to , the Georgia state parks look so nice
If only either of us were any good at graphic design... 😞
Our summer trips are keeping it close until I get a proper tow vehicle. Springfield, Paris Mtn, Wadsadler, Calhoun Falls, Oconee Point, Dreher island are all on the calendar. You gotta get your reservations in FAST!! It looks like a lot, but I bet it’s not enough. Hope to see you out there!
Sounds like you have more on the books than we do!
I've ridden the bicycle through some of Bartram Trail, and have yet to see all 27 miles of it. It feels like it goes on forever at times! Great video!
Thanks! We had some footage of us almost getting run over by a couple of bicyclers, but didn't include it. You people are menaces! 😜
Glad to see you guys back out there. We just got back from Crooked River & Laura S. Walker State parks down in south Georgia a couple weeks ago. Can't wait to hit the road again in a few weeks. If you haven't visited Crooked River yet, we highly recommend. We had site 39. It was full hookup, huge and a nice view of the river. Looking forward to hearing what you guys think of Chester State park. It's on our list to hit this Spring.
Hey, thanks for watching, and thanks for the tip! We'll have to research Crooked River. Laura S Walker is on our radar, too.
We love COE campgrounds. This one looks really nice. We will add it to our list. Thanks for sharing. Subscribed and looking forward to following your adventures.
Well, well! We're glad you liked it! Thanks for finding us and checking us out!
Thanks for the video! I love Chester State Park. They have a great hike (Not the 35 miles you guys hiked on this one LOL). We are camping at Dreher Island in March...hoping for cooler weather than we've had this week in SC!!!
We're looking forward to seeing Chester, if for no other reason than to see some camping country outside our home-base area for a change! Thanks for checking in on us!
Hello from Chesnee SC!!
LOVE your videos!!
Happy you're back on the road and VERY happy you got another job.
My wife says you, Smokey, are my twin brother from another mother in your mannerisms, personality and speech!!
Saw the Spartanburg video and saw you going through Hearon Circle and gasped when we saw where you were going for lodging. On behalf of the rest of the Upstate, we apologize.....
Oh, Dear Lord, but am I soooooo sorry that there's more than one of me out there, and that you have to put up with him/me!! 😞 Thanks so much for watching!
@@LiveNLearnRV At least we have a little bit of distance between us so "the streams don't cross".... like in Ghostbusters.
Glad y’all are back at it. I will be taking my first camping trip for 2021 March 19th to George L Smith State Park in Twin City Ga.
Ooo! We've researched George L Smith SP before and have it on our "to-do" list. Hopefully you'll give it a great review for us!
It looks like you guys had a fun weekend. Congrats on starting to get back to normal. Also, I just subscribed. Peace and Safe Travels.
We did! Thanks for finding us. We're glad to have you on board with us!
I have just retired.(Law Enforcement). have a trip at COE Cotton Hill on Lake Eufaula. in June.. Since I have discovered your videos I have enjoyed watching you guys.. If you are ever in South Ga look me up.. I live only 15 miles from Seminole State Park (GA)..
Hey, we're glad you found us! We had an overnight at Seminole booked for last April, while we were planning to be on the way Tampa/St. Pete, but COVID killed that trip, darn it. Thanks for watching!
Just booked some time here based on your recommendations....keep them coming! Thanks
We're always glad to be of service! You'll dig it there. Thanks for watching!!
@@LiveNLearnRV we will be at Chester State Pk a few weeks after y'all. If you haven't been, it's a nice quiet little park 👍
@@kimepperson6415 We're looking forward to seeing Chester. It'll be nice to visit somewhere outside our home-base neck of the woods.
Just be careful of site 1. We have stayed there with a prior camper and was ok but our Rockwood did not like the un-levelness. And broke a jack! Looking forward to Petersburg!
Good to you both out and about. Glad you are doing better Jessie after surgery and the hike helped I mean long hike. Glad you are employed once again. Liking forward to next video and hoke to see you soon! Stay safe.
Thanks for watching! It was great to get out, even if it was just a short hop away from home. We do hope to get back in the habit again!
@@LiveNLearnRV Ok rest! I’ll watching your video.
Can't wait to see your new rv in person.
Amen to that! We're looking forward to seeing YOU in person!
Nice to see you out here again. Definitely has been a strange 2020. We are leaving in March for one if our big adventures. We will travel to Texas, stopping several campgrounds along the way. Returning mid April. Hope to see you out there.
Ah, Texas... That sounds great! We dream about making it out that far west (and beyond) someday!
@@LiveNLearnRV you guys will make it one day.
I loved hearing the frogs! I didn't remember that from when I watched this a year ago. I hope y'all have some interesting trips planned coming up soon. Are you doing a "big" trip the end of the year like y'all have done in the past?
Table Rock SP for Thanksgiving will be the last outing for 2022. We have a weekend next Feb. scheduled, but that's all we have on the books so far.
@@LiveNLearnRV Get busy scheduling!
Uber drivers don't come out to the bonnies, huh? Who'd have guessed...? 🤣
Well, we probably SHOULD'VE guessed. We survived, and that's all that matters!
We are planning a trip to A.H. Stephens State Park for spring break. Question about this trip: Where did y’all get dinner?
We had a hankerin' for Cracker Barrel, so we ran down to Evans, GA and pigged out. After that monster-hike, we needed the calories!
Happy for y'all! I've missed your adventures. Looking forward to many more this year.
Us too! We hope you liked this one!
