Cardano needs to do whatever is necessary to ensure that it does not miss the opportunity to have several U.S.
States successfully implement Cardano for blockchain voting systems. Hire a team !
Agreed. That interview was filmed back in November. So I hope there has been progress since on that.
I heard a couple of states reached out to them about it. I feel knowing how slow Cardano are at everything this is never going to happen with the elections this close. I would LOVE to be proved wrong. When governance kicks in maybe the community could vote on allocating some funds to a team dedicated to implementing this.
At the very least they need to implement this on a small sample of the population (this election year) to show how it would work. It's such a HUGE deal if they could fix election voting, especially in the US. This needs to be a PRIORITY for Cardano.

So, if voting in cardano's "decentralised" governance is through DReps, then how is this different from Hedera having a Council of governors composed of 39 companies? In effect, they're both the same.
I’d have to look into Hedra governance to comment better but I can say that anyone can be a dRep. Eg you can sign up and vote yourself. Cardano is also looking for hundreds if not thousands of dReps.
When I research Hedra gov I’ll comment again.

Just listening to this interview, i feel this process is so tedious and time-consuming. Recipe for failure. Hope not. 😢
DRep most certainly will be time consuming. I hope we only need to research and vote one 1 thing at a time.
There will be issues. Things can break and they can be improved upon and changed.
That is true, the process will be slow and time consuming but that's also how it should be if you think about it. Changes should be slow but you can have multiple stuff being worked on in parallel so voting could happen more often. In general, I imagine it's not that you need to change stuff every month.
Democratic systems don't have elections every month and politicians don't write new laws every day - they do or should do a lot of research first, present the solutions and then voting occurs. What is being built here is an internet country with the whole world participating as one. The great thing is you can switch the dReps quickly which is not the case in the existing political systems.
