30 HOUR DETAIL - McLaren 570s - Paint Correction

In this video, I show some of the steps that I took to fully restore the McLarens paint. This is 30+ hours worth of work compressed into a short video. After striping any residual waxes or sealants, I preformed a clay bar paint decontamination on the car. I followed this with compounding the paint which removed any deep scratches. The paint was then polished to bring it to a perfect shine. Once this was complete, the car was waxed and the finishing touches were applied!

Any reason why you are using the long wand for rinsing the wheels? I feel like it would be easier to use just the gun.

Two reasons.
1. I don't like to go through the hassle of messing with the fittings.
2. If I use the long wand, I can stand out of the way of any water splashing back. Primarily when I spray over the lugs.

With a ceramic coating, you are not able to polish the car if there ever are any scratches in the paint. While ceramic coatings are scratch resistant, they are not scratch proof. So I decided that if I only wax the car, I can easily strip the wax off and polish the car when needed.

I have polished many cars with coatings and have reapplied.... it’s not really that hard to removed it like people make it out to be.
I wondered the same thing. Why out in all they work and not coat it. If it’s maintained then it’s sort of different but I have don’t do full corrections on customers cars and only apply a sealant unless it’s a quick AIO.
