- We're starting the day with a banger! It's time for a bit of Orc tryhard, and we're meeting "bigcat", the 3rd best Chinese Undead player! This is going to be a tough one, but my Shadow Hunter Pitlord strat could do the trick!

What makes Grubby so entertaining to watch, is that his playstyle is so free/loose. He doesn't just 'play the meta' over and over and over again. Never the same plan and always willing to adapt.
Meta in games is so fucking boring dude. I hate it, ruined q lot of good games, like Yu-Gi-Oh or any strategy game. Even MMORPGs are full of meta builds, só boring....
People just hate having fun :D

@@fodedordegatas1081 Not sure if Yugi-Oh is a good example. The decks were always made to be pretty unfair if you collected all the cards you needed for them, and they were intentionally made to be that way.
You might remember having good times with your mates all using starter decks and some random booster cards but that's not how it plays if you managed to make a proper deck. One player usually just smashes the other with no counterplay because they drew the cards that makes their deck work faster, and that's how it's always been since it's conception.
Generally agree though. I like theory crafting, and it's boring when theory crafting boils down to just the best thing and it's counters.
@@DoNotFearTheReapa something i started doing with my friends is some random shuffle draft. i piled a huge amount of garbage cards when i was a kid, so we looked through them, filtered out cards that are too dependant on other cards to the point you cannot play them and then picking 3 from the big pile, choose 1 toss the other until you have a deck. Had a pretty fun time and sometimes there is just 1700 Atk guy sitting on the field and you dont have something for it immedeatly and can barely contest. Fun thing

Im starting to get addicted to this game thanks to you. I don't even remember the last time i felt like playing this game. I don't think ive touched this game in over 10 years. I found your channel 2 years ago and have been enjoying all the shenanigans(i loved your rambo series, they were intense & suspenseful), but only recently you have inspired me to play again.

You can tell when Grubby is really taking the game seriously when his APM at the start is insane. Spamming the control groups and micro-managing the peons. Sadly he doesn't commentate as much on these kinds of games but it's good to see the high level play also~

Shadow Hunter + Pit Lord has been a semi-meta strategy that he has talked about and occasionally done in the past.

that pitlord using enemys blight for his own advantage was interesting.
pitlord is pretty cool against UD in general. Not only does he regenerate on the enemy blight, he is also immune to (enemy) death coil.
I started watching your videos from the one hero challenges which I thought were impressive, but they're nothing compared to when you're taking it serious! That micro management is insane!
Whoa, that were some clean games. Very well executed! Not sure how much ping issues he had, but I find he was pretty sloppy with his small number engages, loosing him his lich countless times and losing his count (DK) eventually as well ;) Also I really loved the Far Seer acolyte drive-by. Pretty low cost big impact maneuver.

would work even better with a team of five peasant-militia scooting out there and team building a town hall.
Great games Grubby! Also I have a question: is it ever worthwhile to get 1 batrider even though you don’t need anti air just for the bonus vision at night? Batriders allegedly have basically night elf vision at night and can help spot for you and out maneuver your opponent (at least i think it may.)

Hey Grubby, would it be viable to play a full anti-magic composition vs. Undead, so you can't get nuked? Something like Mass Dryads with Pit Lord and Dark Ranger for heroes so no one can get Death Coiled.

It is a pretty silly idea, but hear me out. Could a Shadow HUnter 1st with hex harass work? He could try to autoattack a lot, try to steal, and deny xp hexing the opponent hero whenever he last hits.
Sounds pretty silly. You will end up with lvl 1 sh vs lvl 2-3 dk and only keep falling further behind. Ud is fine without creeping and keeping it level 1 vs 1 if need be. That benefits ud more. That's why ud has harassed orc if they could. But against far seer it's normally too slow to harass depending on the map. By the time you get there the green or orange creep is already killed unless you did some altar first harass build with UD. But no one does that vs orc, maybe if they going Ted fiends but that seems to be out of style these days.

This game is strange. Sometimes strategies seem fine, but until tested you don't know. Years back I couldn't get my head around it.
