Kennedy Steve sounds like he's having a rougher than usual day in this one 🤨
He was in one of those moods tonight. Makes for great listening
Love these clips of Kennedy Steve. It seems he's in a constant war with ramp control. KS is the best!
Ironically he's a ramp controller at JFK now following his retirement from ATC.
@Jamie Slaney Delta airlines, oddly enough.
@@CiaranMaxwell Does that mean he still gets to mess with Delta Tug 2?
@@luvondarox Presumably!
@@EditGuy6610 He's on the dark side now
I can't help but sort of feel sorry for the foreign pilots who have no idea how to respond to KS's humor, like Qatari
totally agree with that!!
it turned out fine because it gave him extra clarification.
Amusing as hell. I do feel pity for them tho. Just a lil!
Slicer Vorzakh I assume their English is mostly limited to basic understanding of ATC commands, which is indeed a pity because they can’t appreciate or understand any English humor.
@@yammmit Actually Qatar is one of these companies where they communicate in English because their crews are from countries all over the world.
Guess KS had something going on o-o fully expected him to eagerly claim credit for making the Jetblue 1183 pilot laugh
KS: Is he battling with the ramp as usual?
CAR94: Err...it appears so
😂😂😂😂😂😂 KS being KS
I do that at work but over the air for police/fire/ and ems.
Deputy: Advd 1431 to turn around, they passed the enterance.
Me: splended 1203/ems channel 1431 my deputy advd you blew passed. Currently is putting on a light show for you at the enterance.

Thank God for my dispatchers, I don't know what I'd do without em.
Wow...first time I ever heard Steve having a bad day!!
3:08 KS missed a sterling opportunity to razz the poor LAN tug driver for thinking he was a TAM super tug.
laaan super tug haha, i love how he always changes his speaking in some way when theres a tug in the picture. i have a feeling he hates them a bit
Steve sounds exhausted from dealing with these knuckle heads all day.
+Ranger Ambient Alot better then having to talk to the Chinees or Rusian pilots.. Damm that needs calm nerves
Oh god, those two in particular I find dreadful as well when they appear. I let out an audible groan whenever they show up. Aeroflot's just way too slow for me.
When you have to deal with the same issues over and over it no doubt takes its toll!
Anyone else notice the consistently awesome way he pronounces "papa"?
Kennedy Steve for a fresh start to your week! :) Thank you for watching!
It's still the same week here in Sweden but thanks a lot! :)
It's still the same week here in Sweden but thanks a lot! :)
+81tibr Weeks in the US start on Sunday
+H89SA I'm currently binge-watching the Kennedy Steve playlist. Man he is funny! Thanks for all the uploads, they are very appreciated! :)
+Sidney Just But... why?
How uncharacteristic of Steve not calling the MD88 “angry puppy “
Isn't that MD-80?
@@darkiee69 Yes, but an MD-88 is a subset and specifically the last variant of the MD-80 that was made. Just like how there are 747-400's and 747-800's. It's different models or versions of the same type of aircraft.
@@AmyAnnLand originally known as the DC-9-80. For the historians, New York Air was one of the early deliveries in June 1983. Made quite a bit of it on our ads and collateral as it beat our tired hand me down DC-9-30s and also had 147 seats in NYA's all coach configuration...and with 35-36" seat pitch.
I’ve had these types of conversations in my thirty-six years as an air traffic controller (ZAB/ZDV)... lots of fun..!
"Battling with the ramp as usual?" That just sounds bad...
Nope that's toutine
love KS hes a such a nice, confident professional guy.
After watching several of your videos, I finally decided to subscribe to your channel. From these videos, I visualize the layout of Kennedy and try to figure things out. Keep up the awesome work!! I'm in Chicago and I'm not finding alot of ORD ATC.
+Greg N Oh c'mon, ORD is great to listen to, especially in winter. And thank you very much for subscribing. :)
+H89SA No, I meant hardly any KORD ATC here on CZcams.
+Greg N My mistake. I'm too tired lately. I think I have some old cuts from KORD (I'm not 100% sure), if I find anything, I'll post it in one of the compilation videos. :)
+H89SA No prob. Don't go to any trouble to create anything. You do a SUPERB job in what you do. I do see some cockpit views of landing at ORD, those are interesting.
@@greg11311 Aren't KORD and ORD the same thing? Isn't K just what you put in front of all American airports?
He seemed a little out of sorts in this one, maybe tired or had a bad shift............ lacking a little bit of bounciness in his voice............... but always good to here him.
why am i addicted to these all of a sudden
It still boggles my mind that ground movement does not directly communicate with the ramp controllers but rely on passing information via the aircrews. It seems highly inefficient and prone to error and confusion....oh, wait...
ramp doesn't like to talk to ground. cause it wastes precious time.
Didn't see that
But surely, just having a couple buttons where they can talk to ramp if they need to would be more efficient than relaying messages through air crews.
Hi there! ORD Ramp controller here. A lot of times we have pilots that give the wrong information over to ground of what we want them to do. We monitor ground in our ramp tower to make sure its valid information, that is being given(for example: gate availability, entry points, exit points and double backs using the ramp area). If we hear the wrong transmission being told to ground we give the main tower a phone call and very briefly and quickly explain what is supposed to be done. In the end the ground controller makes it happen. The ramp of itself is extremely busy as well. Especially when there were a lot of gate holds and those gates start to open up. Communication is very mush so key and doing it quickly is a great benefiting factor.
@@MD88Pilot Chicago>>> Now MayBe Atlanta???
Thanks for posting!! it is very fascinating what goes on. I do not know how they manage!
Splendid
Do the LAN and TAM SUPER TUGS have like a code share agreement or something? *lol* Wasn't the first time I heard a tug driver correct his callsign from LAN to TAM or the other way around...
Thanks for uploading this! Good start to the week with Kennedy Steve :)
+Canadian Plane Spotter Thank you very much! :)
As always, thank you, Steve rocks ;)
+David Finney Thank you! :)
What makes Ramp so difficult to work with?
+flinx My guess.. to much planes to few gates ?
+flinx It's just... different goals. ATC wants their taxiways clear and often don't understand why an aircraft has to wait on a taxiway if there are ten gates open. But Ramp has to ensure flow of both aircrafts and passengers in the terminal - you can't just accept a plane into any gate, because that would pose a number of logistical challenges, not the least of which would be to get all passengers of the outbound flight to this new gate...
cool. steve really does not sound very happy.
This guy is awesome!
Btwn the ramp and the tugs, not sure who's worse lol.
Splendid video once again!
+DFW Aviation Thank you! :)
What's it mean when 'with information X Y or Z'?? Great video as always
+Karl McCallum ATIS information (automatic terminal information service), "information X" provides information about visibility, temperature, pressure, active runways etc. for the current hour. ATIS works as a recording to reduce congestion on the frequency.
+H89SA ah, thought it would of been something like ATIS but was never 100%
I can’t believe people that don’t know what ‘information alpha’ is would listen to these great clips!
Steve Rosengren ehh, I didn't know anything on the subject at first, and look at me now, I knew the answer before I opened replies😂 it's just addictive for whatever reason
Steve and the ramp. Do they sit close to one another in the tower?
+Owen Cockburn Nope. Each terminal has it's own ramp control, located at the terminal. Coincidentally at JFK the T4 ramp control is located on a different floor in the control tower, albeit 200' below the cab. The ramp controls are operated by the terminal/airline, not the FAA like the ATC.
+fastmovingblip ah, I see. Thanks for that 😊
You're very welcome. Next time you're at a major airport you can generally identify the ramp control as there's a mini control tower stuck on the roof or side of the building facing airside.
Is it bad luck when a black cat runs in front of you while taxiing
Roxann Douglas it is for the cat
I love your channel!!! Subscribed!
+Percy Jackson Thank you very much! :)
03:50 Way to go interjet hahaha
how does ramp communicate when theres multiples airlines together?
Why do I love this |§£¥|| ?
Kennedy Steve is so funny
+debarthepilot Yep. Nice channel you got there. :)
Thank you!
Lot of Jetblue traffic at Kennedy.
It's their major hub....
Thanks.
and there will be lots of it in Boston too.
Who is “the company”??
the company means the same airliner
@@MIGBMWLOVER Same airliner as the pilot he’s saying that to?
@@The_Original_forresttrump yes he is telling him to follow the same the plane that has the same company logo as the pilot he is currently talking to.
@@MIGBMWLOVER Thx, I didn’t think the CIA used civilian airports. Kennedy Steve said this a lot too.
