I'll just say this: the final shot/image of "Lamb" will forever be tattooed on my brain. Like....I can't even describe how I felt seeing it.
Is it up there with Enemy? Or even the Witch shook me
@@davidmckesey7119 Both of those are good comparisons to the final shot of Lamb
Damn! I'm going to miss my last opportunity to see its limited theatrical run where I live since it conflicts with the date and time of my next viewing of Dune (with my wife, no less).
Are you on about the wife or the last time you see Ada? Cuz when it cut to black it pissed me off it’s just one of those endings that’s just like “you’ve seen what you’ve seen, now fuck off” lol
@@davidmckesey7119 the witch is my favorite A24 movie. But the final scene in this will be tattooed in my brain forever I agree with him
Iceland is, from every picture I've ever seen of it, visually awesome...
As someone from the country in which this movie takes place...this was our reaction seeing the trailer in theaters: WHAT...THE...FUCK ARE WE WATCHING?
I was told that this movie is a dark modern fairytale and I went into the movie with that expectation. I enjoyed this movie with that in mind, felt refreshing to branch out of my comfort zone.
Good way to look at it!
@@AustinBurke OMG, love your content!
Seems like A24 covers grief a lot. I haven’t thought about it much, but I have seen Midsommer and now this is clearly about grief as well
Just for info this is not actually an A24 movie. Its just distributed by them in the US
@@generalarctrooper A24 dosnt film their own movies it’s a distribution company for indie artists to reach the big screen
@@fullm3taljack3t55 yea but there are films where they are the main distributors, but in this case it’s only in the US. Where I’m from in germany A24 had nothing to do with this at all
One thing we can always rely on A24 for is the cinematography.
Absolutely
Don't steal from the devil yaw, even the lamb kid was like, Jesus, my dad scary :D
I loved the movie. I also felt like Goat daddy wanted to make Maria feel so bad,
that she left her with nothing, in the end, that's why he was just lurking around, waiting for the opportunity,
and that is like the human side of him, an animal would have just attacked.
Rite on. Thx for comment
Me: Austin, that new movie 'Lamb'. You know what I'm talking about?
Austin: MAAAAAAn, do I!
🤣
Everytime you called it a Lambchop had me laughing out loud 🤣🤣 can’t wait to check this film out!
Finally! I’ve been waiting for your review of Lamb. Lamb is one of my favorite film of this year and I loved the editing and is very simple than other A24 films. A24 has done it again! I wouldn’t doubt it if it’s nominated at the oscars for best visual effects.
Would love to see it
Dune will take visual effects for sure
@@shaumikp1 either dune or the suicide squad.
@@shaumikp1 oh yeah for sure it’s going to win but what about the other nominees? I mean Lamb had great visual effects but I never said it’s going to win.
@@prathapkutty7407 oh yeah The Suicide Squad had really great visual effects. I was really impressed but Dune was in another level like Blade Runner 2049
I respectfully disagree. (spoilers ahead) I was engaged from beginning to end but that’s because I had a feeling this movie would be a slow burn. This movie isn’t about what your seeing but about what the characters are feeling. What the sheep who got her baby taken away was feeling, about the grief the couple was feeling, about the false sense of security their mythical creature brought them. I was never bored. You also forgot to mention the themes of people’s excess vs nature. This movie made it clear that they weren’t supposed to have any children. There were three crosses. They took someone’s child away. All hell breaks lose.
This movie also poses the next question: How powerful would we be over other creatures if they could also pick up a weapon? Basically throwing our arrogance in our faces. I think this movie is pretty deep.
That thing terrified me at the end, also I did feel pretty bad for the mommy sheep that just wanted her baby back and she was just ruthlessly killed. Also what did the three crosses and the dad running and falling in the marsh lands mean? Were they flashbacks? Was Ada the name of their biological baby they had lost? I enjoyed the movie overall but I just wish they would stop with the dancing around ideas and just show what they are trying to say instead of leaving it open for the sake of “artistic expression”.
@@gagalover2k10, the three crosses were for three children they had lost. Basically justifying them kidnapping the lamb/child as their own. That’s why I said it was clear life didn’t want this couple to have children and they suffered for trying to challenge that.
I totally agree. You expressed your feelings so eloquently. I adored this movie and can’t get it out of my mind.
I couldn’t agree with you more, I saw a couple who chose to take it upon themselves to steal a baby, regardless where it came from, animals know, more than humans.
@@Niko12657 I can’t get the mommy sheep out of my mind for some reason, my heart literally ached when the woman screamed at her then shot her dead, it was so cold. But then on the other hand Ada was half human and I don’t think she would’ve survived living in a shed, plus it would’ve been pretty inhumane to do that to her. So it’s a bit of a moral conundrum. Maybe if they had been kind to the mommy sheep the daddy would’ve seen they were happy and left them alone 😅
In every video.... Intro is unique and always killing.
Haha thank you!
The clean look is back for the intro! Yay!! 😊
I love this film.. from the opening scene to the final scene.. Lamb, Titane, and Dune are my favorite this year.
I so want to see this. My Regal near me is lame because they never play anything like this.
I was so shocked my Regal here in the South played it. We rarely get foreign language films. We got “Parasite” and we get the occasional Bollywood movies. I just have never really been interested in them. I was excited when we got “Parasitic” since it was actually before the Oscar nominations. I had planned on traveling to see “Lamb” if I had to. I adored the movie and was so glad I got to see it on the big screen. It’s a gorgeously shot movie.
Not a lot of payoff for the time invested watching this but I enjoyed it as well. A lot of suspense and no jump scares which is great. I just wish the B roll footage was replaced by something with more meaning to the story. A lot of fat could’ve been trimmed from this.
Yas! 100k soon... Let's go 🙌🏻
Just finished myself, and really enjoyed a lot! Very different and kept me very interested the entire time!! I’ve seen 2 different types of babies this week, a part lamb baby and part titanium baby…pretty cool!!
Another great review! Superb
great review.
great review!
I need this to be streaming now!!!!!!!
I think they (a24) are offering it tomorrow night to stream for $20.
@@TaitsTake Good looking out my friend!! I’m all over that!!
At first my mind went to a darker place, don’t know why ,but here it is,when the lamb child was revealed I thought because they were so isolated and not happy, I got the sense there was little or no intimacy between the couple, then I thought maybe the husband had sex with one of the sheep.Bestiality is a thing even though it’s not scientifically possible ,I thought this might be an abomination from God,some of the scenes with him looked to me like he was feeling ashamed.Boy was I wrong, obviously the ending changed everything I thought, I’m glad Ada had a real dad. Ha ha
Well i think this movie really workss.... , My theory is, ingvar and maria once lost their child. We didn't know the child was dead or just lost. But if. If the child was just "lost". Well maybe somehow their child grew up in wilderness and having some intercourse with "lamb" and then giving birth to what we saw at the end of the movie, the real father of ada. So it does make sense tho. Why there are lamb - human hybrid.
To me it's how they took the baby away from its real mom. I'm happy actually for once it didn't have a good ending because they really didn't deserve it.
This is one of those movies that if you don't like pretentious a holes say you just didn't get the movie lol.
I've been WAITING
Me too! You should watch Zach Pope’s review of Lamb. He’s quite good.
Without spoilers, I also feel there was some commentary on animal cruelty
Best opener ever
Nice review! Any other movies you want to Catch up on?
Definitely a couple before my monthly tier list!!
I can tell from your review that there is no way I would like this. I don't like to think when I watch movies! Lol. Plus what's with the one word animal movie names this year? Lamb. Pig. Is Turkey next? Or perhaps Squirrel?
Hahaha give me squirrel
Almost spit out my drink when you said lamb chop.
One of the most disturbing movie of 2021
I have no words after seeing it
Thank you
Lamb chop lol😭😭❤❤❤❤
Please review The Medium!
I’m still going to watch this but a lot of A24 films are pretty much a miss for me. Also I’m so tired of the “exploring grief in the weirdest way possible” trope. But I’ll give it a watch out of curiosity, if nothing else.
Literally just finished watching it and it was definitely good, but the ending was so abrupt it pissed me off, I thought we’d get one last shot of Ada; *SPOILER* is she now happy with her biological father? Are there more of these creatures hidden in the wilderness? Does Ada try to run away and go back to her human mom? So many choices but they choose to just show a confusing shot of the mom looking distraught before cutting to black...what a waste. But overall I enjoyed a lot more than I thought considering it’s an A24 movie. 3/5

It's like if the Witch ended 10 mins early and just cut to black as she walked into the barn.
I mean she kind of deserved to be suffering since they decided to shoot the real mom. I mean I feel like both humans got what they deserved since I took the baby away from the actual mom I don't care if you're grieving or not why make other people miserable like just because they were
I read up on it I didn't actually watch it because I would just get pissed off at the humans personally I like how it showed the ending was because I feel like they both got what they deserved because they literally killed her real mom I mean they're shitty people and they kind of got what they deserved in the movie.
@@JessicaS-bb8wz it's not like they could have left the baby with it's real mom. It was basically a human child with a lamb head. It couldn't live outside with an actual sheep which is what its mother was. Also it's a farm animal which are slaughtered all the time.
@@briangriffith4574 I still think the humans were sick individuals. And idc if they kill them all the time. They were twisted.
@@JessicaS-bb8wz you didnt even watch the movie
What? No spoilers? Is there some kind of a “Lamb” embargo (Lambargo?) compelling you to keep all the plot points vague? I want to know why you thought it was so unique.
Not many people have seen it yet! And anything beyond what I hit in is spoilerific… plus, not much else happens 😂
It's just a small embargo. That would make it a Lambargini... 😉
Her name is Ada, seriously get it together. I loved the movie and the endin blew me away.but the lamb didn't destroy anything.
The woman was grieving there was 3 crosses one for Ada 1 for husband and 1 for brother maybe they died going fishing and she created an alternate life
I thought it was amazing! 👍🏼
This movie is filled with biblical and astrological references.
A24 = 24 Greek letters => AlphaOmega ;)
Please review Sardar Udham on prime videos
Waiting for ur eternals review Austin very ❤️
Austin that was a baaaaaaaaaa d lion head
It was real
Actual lions
A slow burn movie with a few intense moments but overall, I was not a fan of this movie...
I liked it too!
you should watch indian film Sardar Udham on amazon prime. It is amazing. Mindblowing.
So its like Sweet Tooth
his girlfriend😁
😍😍
Loved the cinematography, loved the slow pace, hated the overall product.
Thought it was somewhere between pretentious BS and student film.
Lamb
So, what you're saying is... They lose a kid, and pretend a lamb is their child? Yeah... That sounds stupid.
A24 never do wrong
I totally hated that I wasted 2 hours on nothing watching this movie. Nothing really happens. And it isn't scary at all. And in the end some walking ram takes the lamb away after shooting the husband. Then the wife finds him dead and says everything will be ok. Then she just looks up and it just ends. Omg horrible ending and the whole movie is boring AF. I'm sorry but acting was not that great either. I don't understand why people praise foreign films so much. Most of them are boring. It's rare you see a good foreign film. There's only very few good ones. Don't waste your time on this movie. Plus showtime repeats this movie so many times. Why? These cable premium channels are really not doing good anymore.
Lamb chop 😂
the shots were awesome
the movie was silly and stupid
Don't ruin Lambchops poor widdle name. I grew up with her. lol
I live in iceland as tge son of the president and i don't like the landscape bit everyone abroad tells ne it is beutifull🤣
This is an overrated movie where people choose style over substance
This movie was hot garbage. I’m tired of people trying to be “artsy” and giving approval to lame movies
🤣😆😆😆
This movie was pretty awful.
I thought it was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time...
First
I know you were trying to be funny Austin but why not call the lamb child by her name Ada. I personally adored the movie. I was like you in the sense that the more I thought about it the more I appreciated it. It’s definitely a movie that sticks with you especially the haunting last images. I only wish A24 had marketed as a eerie folk tale or fairy tale rather than claiming in commercials that it’s horror. I’ve read where a lot of people were mad because they felt misled and hated the movie because it wasn’t what they expected. I’m glad I watched a review before seeing it so I knew going in what kind of movie to expect and that it wasn’t horror. It’s definitely a movie that’s seeped in dread and foreboding. I was often very tense dreading what might happen next. I thought this was a beautifully shot and acted movie. It tackled a lot of hefty themes in an artistic way. I hope it develops a cult following someday.
A24 just sucks
A 24 makes the best films unlike most of the marvel crap
Why'd you ruin the movie right when you started reviewing it. You couldn't have talked about the movie without spoiling it at the very beginning of your review.
