Girl just like you I researched what to pack for my hospital bag. As a first time mom and a person that tends to overpack I wanted to avoid bringing a lot of things I don’t need. Even after watching like 30 different “what’s in my hospital bag” videos and reading a lot of blogs, not only did I overpack but I didn’t even use half the stuff I brought 😂 honestly, it’s all about bringing what you think you will need to be comfortable. As a first time mom you can never overpack but I guarantee any babies after Ella you’ll pack differently.

Bring everything & anything lol I had so many people tell me not to and I’m like nope I will bring it. It was my first time and I just wanted to make sure plus I felt good bringing what I wanted ❤

I won’t tell you to take anything out, I did the same… better to have and not need or use than want and not have. Snacks are what you’ll be happiest to have for sure. just an fyi- baby will stay in a diaper and swaddle while in the hospital because they are checked constantly too by nurses. You definitely don’t need teethers at this point, she can’t really see them. Good luck w/L&D!

Omg I'm so excited for you!! I can't wait for you to go into labor. And I think it's great that you packed everything that you did. Better to have it all than to wish you would've brought something that you didn't. Personally I downsized my bag with each kid and I have 3. Barely used the things I brought but you never know how you will be feeling or what you may want until you're there. Eeekkkk can't wait to see baby Gabriella. ❤

I loved watching this video, even though I am no where near being a mom yet. (I’m 28, but currently a full-time caregiver for my grandparents, so that doesn’t leave a lot of time for dating lol..) But I am saving this video, because I want to come back to it in a few years when I will need it. I love that you packed all of the just in case items. I am the same way, and you thought of everything! I love it. It’s so much better to have all of things you might need and have your anxiety alleviated. Who cares if you don’t need it or just bring it home - You’re pushing a baby out, the last thing you need to be worried about is forgotten items. Those comfort items will make all of the difference. I’m praying for a smooth and easy delivery for you and Ella. Good luck, Kayla!!! ❤

I remember my little guy went home in a little turtle outfit. I had a whole outfit with the hat and hand mitts and blanket. He was so cute, and I kept the little tiny outfit.

I definitely went and got that cream outfit you showed that you wanted to wear home. Thought I would just say that the pants are on sale rn if you wanted more. I love your video and I’m a 4th time mom and you packed some great things. ❤

Definitely bring whatever makes you feel comfortable! All hospitals are different in what they prefer you and baby to wear, what kind of food they offer, etc. so in my opinion it's better to have too much than not enough. The only thing I would suggest is really doing a lot of research and talking to your pediatrician and even the OB nurses about the pacifier. We were told that using a paci while the baby sleeps greatly reduces the risk of SIDS, though I know there is some debate about what pacifiers work best for breast fed babies (I didn't breastfeed so that wasn't something I had to consider). Regardless, I'm sure you'll make informed decisions and do what's best for your baby and your family! Good luck, mama! 💕

I think you really packed a good amount of stuff l, even if you don’t use some stuff it just feels good to bring them. I hope you have a fast delivery and recovery, soak it all in take all the pictures because the new born stage once it’s over it feels like it was all a dream ❤

You are super prepared. My kids are older but I think some of these ideas are great one like the music, fan and the snacks. True story with my first I was in the hospital longer than I expected so I pretty much was never fed. I'm not sure why but I think it was just one day so that snack bag is a great idea. I do think the amount of cloths and blanks you have are excessive you usually only need a nice outfit for pictures and maybe a like two sleepers if you want too and a nice warm blanket. When I was in the hospital they said I could take home everything but not the blankets they were really adamant about that I guess people really like to take those ugly blankets they give you. 😂 Remember to do what’s comfortable for you. Just keep in mind you have to wash and check that when you get home hospital aren’t as clean as you think, or maybe that’s just me being over dramatic. But over all you are so prepared, you got this

I love the name Ella! It’s such a sweet name. You literally can’t have a bad kid if her name is Ella. 😉 Lol! I’m a boy momma, but I’ve always loved that name before we found out we were having boys. You did great with your hospital bag. You definitely overpacked, but I’m not knocking you. It’s your first baby so go pack all the things and enjoy it! 💗 I always packed loose dresses for my going home outfit because I didn’t want anything in the least bit restrictive around my belly right after. But I’ve also heard some moms pack leggings so I guess everyone is different. And I think you’re fine with the beige outfit. I’ve had 3 babies, and I’ve never gotten blood on my going home outfit. Yes, you will be bleeding a lot down there. But those Always discreet adult diapers really are great. I loved them so much that I even wear them to bed on my heavy period days now instead of actual overnight pads. They work better and are more comfortable imo. The portable sound machine you packed is also a must because the nurses don’t leave you alone. Lol. They’re constantly coming in to check on you or baby. My only suggestion to add is flip flops for the shower, a nursing pillow, and the Frida Mom upside down peri bottle for your hooha. Yes, I know the hospital gives you a regular one. At first I thought the Frida one was a bit bougie and unnecessary. But it’s honestly so much better than the hospital one and makes it so much easier to rinse yourself. I use mine now for period days too. And if you take none of my advice…take this one: TAKE THE STOOL SOFTENER EVERY DAY UNTIL THAT FIRST 💩 AFTER BIRTH! I have a nightmare story from my first birth that I will spare you the details. But I wish someone would have told me to take stool softeners after giving birth. I almost called 911 after what happened going home. 😫😰 This comment is now much longer than I intended. Anyhoo, best of luck for a smooth delivery, recovery, and healthy, beautiful baby girl Ella! 🙏🏼💕🎉

You should pack whatever makes you feel comfortable. In so far as pacifiers go you might need to try her with a few different ones as it truly is trial and error.

This is a great list ! I am about to have my 4th baby and I would totally recommend packing maybe one more bra/underwear ! Just because you never know what your breasts/ body are going to react and they could very easily become soiled. Other than that I think you nailed it ! My first baby I had nothing prepared like this I went without anything 😅 I had no idea I was even in active labor yet.

Kind of, but it is only for 15 or 30 minutes, not intended to be an overnight sound machine, but more to sooth an upset baby

Girl! You are ready...but i have to be honest, you probably packed alot more than you will need. For the amount of time you are in the hospital, the nurses will take care of baby. In my experience with two natural births, breast feeding will be your most important thing to learn and adapt to!

Congrats on being a first time mom that didn't pack a million extra things! That's coming from a mom of four! However, I wouldn't take teethers or anything like that. She definitely won't be playing with anything at all 😅
