Weston Shore, Southampton

Weston is a part of Southampton, and borders Southampton Water where there is a shingle beach and park and cafe, and a number of 1930’s beach shelters. From Weston Shore you can view across the water Hythe and its pier, and Marchwood and Fawley, and Southampton docks. This short video shows the walks and various views, in addition a family of swans. The potential that Southampton City Council fails to recognise is all around us, this is another example of what could have been a huge attraction with the right care and maintenance. Yes it a busy waterway, that in itself is an attraction to some, but an opportunity to make this into a much nicer leisure area has never been considered. On the other hand, I guess we are lucky its not been developed into more hotels, restaurants and student flats.

I agree with you, it's a wasted opportunity. It's still a nice place for a walk (on a sunny day!), but could be so much nicer! 👍🙂
