This song has been stuck in my head since elementary, which is the last time I heard it. I’ve been singing it randomly throughout my life. Didn’t know all the words to the hook. Today, I told my wife about the music teacher that would have us singing this song in school. She was pleasantly surprised, shocked actually. Then she suggested I look it up. Why I never thought to do that, IDK.
I looked it up and my search led me here. When Amy started singing, my eyes immediately filled with tears. I haven’t heard this song in 37 years and as a child I had no clue what it meant. As an adult, I’m overjoyed at the magnificence of God’s power and love. And just as the song says, He’s the same God today as He was back then when this song first escaped my lips. Hallelujah.

Amy, This is THE song that brought me to accept Jesus as my savior. I was going through a very rough time and had no idea what life was all about. These lyrics say what our mission in life should be, to praise Him till we die. This is, in my opinion, one of the prettiest songs ever written. I love this remix by the way. I have a feeling that might be Vince playing on the guitar in the middle. Very well done, Thanks.

I just can't get past the fact that Amy divorced her God ordained only husband. The song is beautiful but may deceive if it leads one to accept the idea that Jesus Christ is down with divorce. He said "What God has joined together let no man put asunder"

I was born with sickle cell disease. When I was 7 years old, I had a stroke and was put into a foster home. This and two other songs, specifically, I remember my daddy put on a mixed tape he made for me, that I loved listening to when I had my pain episodes ❤😢

As a young man serving in conflicts around the world never named as wars, I found this song and names for a God I needed to talk desperately with while recovering to serve again . We were young and saw, and did many great things, and many things we wished to forget. El-Shaddai and Adonai became names I could connect with. I never prayed to Allah, Elohim, Brahma or YHWH directly, but the children of every God were always in my prayers, because I knew I was in theirs.

I was only singing along, and I realized what I said to the people in tough places, "You turned the sea into dry land." It was JUST SO EXCITING to get a postcard from my nephew in Southern California where there is an extensive desalination plant. To my right is a picture of "Your customized home water," reverse osmosis I think. What we're charged with is using a crude filter in California including charcoal. Outside there are walkside gardens with different size gravel. I know from taking neuroleptic medication that the microbes start to work as soon as it's combined with everything else. And I thought the government was going to shut down some of the institutions; such that, WE WOULD HAVE APPLE JUICE, CANTELOUPE, AND YOGURT for breakfast.
