I find it therapeutic to paint faux looking distressed wood. Does hot glue not hold the plastic together well or why did you use zip ties & hot glue? I have actually never used the plastic fence from DT even though I have seen a bunch of super cute DIYs with them.

I know, me too! I did that with a lot of my wood signs. The plastic doesn’t sit quite flush on the foam board and I would hate for it to fall off so I just reinforced it with the zip ties. Thank you!

Great job on the faux wood, it looks great!! You can paint the zip ties and then they wouldn't show probably at all.

I love this DIY. I actually, thought that You were going to only cut off the end piece of Your fence Border piece and put it on by folding it where the faux hinges were already. I also could not really see your zip ties when You finished. There are also black zip ties at Walmart depending on the size You need; they run from &.98-$1.98. They are inexpensive and you could dab some of Your paint on them to disguise them also. I always love the ideas that You come up with and want to try them A.S.A.P.

Thank you! No, that is an actual window I purchased from a second hand store. You can always take 6 big frames from dollar tree and make tour own though!

Aww man! Try using E6000 glue AND hot glue on stuff like that. The E6000 first and then the hot glue second so it doesn't harden fast. This will give you a quick bond and once the E6000 dries, it will have a stronger hold! I believe it was black, white, wedding day gold and gray on the colors.
I was wondering if you could use cardboard and Gorilla Glue if that would work I just paint the cardboard whatever color you would want it

Love it! Would E6000 not hold it together. Couldn't you use black zip ties and dab them with the paint you used on the fence. I'm just wondering.

Thank you! I wanted something to match my precious wall decor and I love lanterns and sconces so I figured this was a really inexpensive way to make them.
Great minds think alike! I did a similar DIY in a glam version on my channel and bent the fence piece like you had mentioned.
