- For this drum cover I played along to a drumless track of the original studio version but I like the energetic Alchemy Live version better. So this is my tribute to Terry Williams, the great Dire Straits drummer throughout the 80s, I'm a fan! However, I did not cover his Live drum part note for note but I played in the style of Terry Williams.

If you are over 50 and you are sitting there watching and enjoying Sina's music you are truly lucky and fortunate. But, I highly recommend you get into a comfortable position close your eyes and let the music flow over you. Try it you will soon be taken back to your youth when the music was new. Memories long forgotten will come flowing back into your concious, that old girlfriend, old boyfriend old friends you hung out with places long forgotten. Her music is a trip down memory lane. We have a lot to thank Sina for namely making us feel young again. THANK YOU SINA

As a guitar player, this song has been one of my favorites for over 40 years. But I’ve got to be honest-I’ve never really even NOTICED the drum part before. This video makes me wonder why I haven’t-it’s pretty awesome!
I think the track is designed to showcase Knoflers guitar parts and the drums are only supposed to back it and not be noticed. She said here shes doing a different composition here with more drumming than the of and also played as loud or louder than the guitar part.

In the 80th and beginning 90th Knopflers Music and his Guitar skills were rated in several MUSIC MAGAZINES. Always POSITIV and AMAZING. But "Comparing with the TOP TEN" ( Eddie van Halen, Jeff Beck, Barry Godreau, Joe Satriani, Brian May, Eric Clapton, and so on ) the journalists with no idea of Guitar playin - always voted Knopfler down. -

It just reflects the fraction of individuals with serious psychiatric personality disorders (3-4 % in this case). Probably combos of narcissists and psychopaths + perhaps a few other problems.

I can't either, I found her site a few months ago, I play drums in a Christian band, I could only hope to 1/10th that good. Although one time playing at a rodeo bible camp, many young people were coming forward, we were playing Our God is Greater and I was pulling off runs I couldn't do.

Wow! That was amazing. How on earth can a human being do something like that is beyond me? When learnt to drive (in the UK) I had to learn how to steer, accelerate, use the clutch , change gears etc etc. I thought I'd never do it but I did and it now comes naturally. I suppose learning to play the drums is a similar process. The alchemy performance of Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits was unbelievable. What a performance!

Mark Knopfler is widely re regarded for being able to "make a guitar cry or sing", but Pick Withers is given nowhere near the recognition he deserves for this masterpiece. Technically challenging, yes, but more importantly, he just nails it musically. The two of them just work in synergy. I don't know what the drumming equivalent of "making it cry or sing" is, but this is it. And all without any hint of pretentiousness or showing off. A rare gem of a track.

As a 64 year old beginner guitar player that played drums in High School marching band i am practicing the guitar part. This gives me the extra boost to keep practicing and not give up. You are an awesome drummer & so cool to watch play any song. I will keep trying to learn guitar while watching & playing along with you....AWESOME SINA...!!!

Another year has passed so I thought I would provide some of Sina's amazing numbers. Sultans remains the most viewed drum cover ever on CZcams with 53M views(10M more than #2), 11.9M came in 2021. Early in the year Sina made a decision to cut her posts in half because she had become overwhelmed with school and other obligations. Still, she ended the year with 10M more views than #2 (Drumeo), this was down from 70.3M in 2020. Sina has 11 videos with 10M or more views, only two others even have 7. She also has 75 videos with more than a million view, only Casey Cooper has more (6 more years on CZcams). Not too bad for a part time worker. Congratulations Sina.

You have truly chosen to be a fan to such a degree as to tout her worth, value and talent in a crediting form and manner of which I wholeheartedly agree she is more that deserving. Sina is a drumming force to be reckoned with and it can be especially noticed if you have heard her drum for her own band originals which I'm certain you have. With all that said I can end with an additional fact I have seen develop through the years watching and listening. Sina is drop dead gorgeous.

you do not need to make any apologies to anyone regarding your playing / interpretation of this track. This is as good an interpretation as I have ever heard and I am a bit of a Dire Straits geek. In my opinion if you are doing any cover it should not be note for note but close enough to have the right feel in the right places while putting your own take on it - well done. I have followed you from the start and I am very impressed by your musical talents.
