- This run is roughly equivalent to a 7:40 on old route, so further progress from here will be difficult as it's nearing the level of optimization it was at before. Only major mistakes here were messing up core grab and bad boosting back to the fire.

You could do this run three times without having the sun blow up on you.
Well, not really, since they did wait out a long time at the campfire, but that time isn't included in the final time, because waiting at the campfire runs the game at the fastest speed your computer can handle. It would be unfair if the time was determined by how good the device you're playing on is.
I love seeing all the small optimisations since I last checked in on you and this speedrun. The initial movement in the village without having to wait for the second geyser (and are you double jumping, how does that work??!). Then there's passing the angler fish without needing to coast at all, "observing" through the floorboards, and I'm pretty sure your marshmallow was more optimally roasted this time too! Love how much you love this amazing game.
That optimization at the start is nuts. Shaves what, 20 seconds off? And I still get anxious every time PT Feldspar's in DB. Fantastic run as always!

Just doing the new tech on a clean run, he's hitting the point where extra savings require perfect execution. He's gonna do new records but will take longer and probably won't get more than a few seconds off

why is the timer paused while sleeping?
This is because sleeping runs the game simulation as fast as your hardware allows (up to ten times speed I believe). To keep it fair between different runners with different hardware, the timer is paused so PC quality isn't a factor in the final time.
Are you standing just outside the ship when the statue activates because there just isn't enough time to get into the ship, or is there a technical reason that you can't be inside the ship?
I'm pretty sure cancelling mask cutscene storage in the ship causes some things to break
When you go directly in, you're stuck cause the violet Gravity is inverted and stuck you up !
The scene triggers when he touches the ground after entering the scene's hitbox. Notice how he stays hovering right before entering the nomai statue's vicinity
@@1FontaineCreaturae Yep but if that's was possible we could touch the ground and go directly in but that's not done cause to what i said before ! (I'm second on any% btw 😉)
