This is a complete rerecording of the song which was my first upload back in 2018. This arguably the most popular song from the Silent Hill series and I felt I can do it better justice now, so here it is. I hope y'all like it!
Firstly, this is awesome! You breathed new life into the song while keeping its old spirit. Secondly, now we have two versions to listen to depending on our mood: a metal-ish version and a more game accurate version. Speaking of game accurate, love how you added the outro from the trailer. It was a pleasant surprise.
i like this song better than promise
is it me or does this sound in a different key or like half step note, it's just after listening to the original earlier and listening to this there's this slight difference i think. but it's very good though captures that haunting in pain kind of feel.

I started tuning my guitar down a half step back when I first started, after learning how many of my favorite guitarists did the same: Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jerry Cantrell, Slash, Zakk Wylde and many others-I figured if they were all doing it, there must be a good reason for it. I enjoy the darker tone, with the fringe benefit of fewer snapped strings when I go on a bending spree. That's why this and all my songs are a half step down.

First of all, let me just say that this cover blew me away. From the moment I clicked on the video, I was hooked. The musician behind it has some serious talent. Their mastery of the guitar and piano is evident from the very first note. I was instantly captivated by the haunting melody and how flawlessly it was executed , good cover bro

As a Big Silent Hill Fan I must say its a big improvement from your original upload. Although I really enjoyed your 2018 release I must say this one captures Akira Yamaokas spirit better. It almost sounds like it could be used in a New trailer for the upcoming remake. Good Job! Akira Yamaoka would be really proud that He inspired talented content creators like you! What I also really loved was the transition from "Theme of Laura" to "Theme of Laura Reprise". It really reminded me of your "Promise" Cover, which I personally think is your best work ever. Maybe its because I am a HUGE Sucker for Promise. Its my Favorite Videogame Soundtrack of All time and I would be REALLY happy to See a new release made by you!
Thanks for the all the kind words, danixtendo! I have occasionally wondered what Akira would think of my covers, but there are so many awesome covers of these songs by so many different folks that he surely doesn't have time to listen to them all.
Since I put Promise's Reprise on the end of that one, I thought I'd do the same here. The Reprise versions of these songs are too simple structure-wise to do standalone covers, so putting them in with the primary songs is a way of squeezing in two covers for the price of one.

With all the Silent Hill songs you did now and before, I am super curious what your cover of "Forest" would sound like!
I've spent a lot of time dwelling on how to tackle this one. It's one of the more popular ambient SH tracks, but that's why I've wrestled with it so much: it's more of an ambient track than a song. I'd need to figure out some way to "song-ify" it while keeping its essence intact, which is my number one priority with all my SH covers.

I don't mean to give input to your creativity since I love what you do. But as an idea to add to your brainstorm, do you think an ambient guitar pedal effect replicating the main melody of the song + a synth keyboard to replicate the ambient background would work out?
I wonder if that might be able to replicate the emotions and slightly haunting yet 'full' feeling of that track, if not the entire song done on a keyboard.
I really feel like you captured the ambient sound with the beginning melody of Tifa's Theme in the style of Silent Hill, so that's the kind of sound I am imagining for the main melody of Forest.

I feel like I need another SH3 song, and it's a good candidate. It's always tricky to make an instrumental out of vocal songs without them sounding boring, but Mary's vocal is so dynamic in that song that I think it would translate well to a guitar melody.

Thanks Kaladia! I do have a Spotify artist profile, but I'm not currently using it. You have to use a third party distributor like Distrokid OR CDBaby to upload, which I found not to be worth the hassle (or money) at the time. I truly appreciate the sentiment though, and if I ever decide to start uploading to Spotify or other streaming services once again, I'll be sure to post the links here on my channel page.
