    quick tip when making ramps, especially kickers/launch ramps its recommended to make a triangular stopper so the the ramp does not ip over

    Nice work! I built a bunch of these when I was younger, it's what got me into woodworking!
    Keep an eye on dumpsters jobsites, they always throw out small pieces of plywood (like window cutouts) that are perfect for these.

    What a great build!!! I use to race when I was a young guy and for practice me and a bunch of buddies built a small track in the woods with jumps, giant berms we even built a pit jump with a 6 foot into 3 foot hole. This build brings back awesome memories. Thanks for sharing have fun

      It doesn't matter you could so that the front tire of his bike was dropping before his back tire got off the ramp. If he made the ramp less steep he would have been able to get way more are and it would have been more usable.

    Do everything you just did but use 4x8 3/4 sheets of plywood taller ramp & you can make it wider . When I was a kid we use 4x8 3/4 plywood for are sides & 6 foot long 2x4s for the braces in the ramp to make it 6 foot wide & 4 foot tall ... We made a 8foot tall sub box ramp , a tabletop ramp that had a 15 foot long top, a 5 foot tall spine ramp , a 5 foot tall wedge & I had a 40 foot wide by 60 foot long by 10 high half pipe with 2 foot of vert with 3 foot Chanel & coping in my backyard that me , my dad, his friends & my friends help make . It took use 3 weekends to build . I,d only let my friends ride it no one else so there were no scooters no skateboards a no rollerblades that set foot on it just pure bikes . Covered the tops of all are ramps with this stuff that was like Masonite but you could leave it out in the weather & the ramps would be just fine .. Me and my friends tore it down when my daughter was 2 I was 26 at the time

    Maybe next time you can try to make the transition of the ramp a little more gentle. With the ramp being so small a steeper transition will make the jump less enjoyable to ride.

    nice build. I'm sure the next ones you build will be even better. yeah that launch is a little much on the dramatic steep. a couple 2 x 4s screwed from the top on the launch to the bottom on the landing. would help with the stability of this one. ya know just temp boards, so you can pull that proper pop. good job man

  • @McGuire2778
    @McGuire2778 Před 3 lety

    Nice setup. You may consider extending the base of your kicker (so when you look at it from the side it looks like a pyramid with one side longer than the other) about 6-12 inches so that the ramp doesn’t want to “flip” forward as you reach the top. This will help it not to slide forward so much too.
