I wanted to say thank you for the video. This was my first year making Thanksgiving dinner for my husband, in laws and, his siblings. They were amazed by its rich flavor and moistness. Looks so delicious. I’m 69 years old. I use to help my mom make dressing back when I was real young. I never really cared for it. But now I love to fix and to eat it. My kids are always saying mom you make the dressing. It blesses me. I’ve enjoyed watching your program. I learned a few things to use next week. Thanks for the caring and sharing. Happy Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Holy Crap, I never thought about adding broth to my cornbread stuff before it is cooked. Ms. Chris is a true Southern cook.. Will you marry me, Ms. Chris??
LOL, thought I was the only one to use jiffy, I do 1/2 box and it does wake up the flavor. Funny thing is, if u don't tell anyone, they rave and ask ur secret and if u tell, their psyche takes over then they judge...I never tell and some cooks don't realize a little sugar wakes up the flavor of food as well as cheese does in some of my secret dishes... Thanks Chris

When I first moved to Atlanta, my sweet southern neighbor made the best dressing I have ever had. I’ve tried to make this several times but it’s never been anywhere close to hers. Im excited to see you make this. She stirred her chicken pieces into it and served it like a casserole. Thank you for bringing her back to my mind these 40 years later. I may give the is another try. Thank you again.
I have used so many of your recipes and my cooking skills are on a different level now. I love that you explain why and what you are doing. My family knows when I say “It’s a Chris recipe”, they are about to eat good!
Thank You Mrs. Chris For Sharing Your Recipe. I Cooked This Last Year For Thanksgiving & Babyyy My Husband Said It Was Better Than His Grandma’s🥰 Sooo I Will Be Using This Recipe Again This Year🤣🤣🤣
🦃 Although we cook dressing a little differently , the MAIN thing I look at is her cookware and bowls that she used!! They are ON POINT just like my mom's and I'm the exact same way!!!! 🦃 Happy Thanksgiving everyone! 🦃
I like how you added the Stove Top stuffing and the Jiffy corn muffin mix to your corn bread stuffing. Those are family favorites to give a little more flavor. I liked how you said too much sage makes it a green color and the poultry seasoning makes it more brown color. It looks so good!
I found you from auntie fred's videos may she rest in peace. I love your cooking techniques. I am aspiring to have my own cooking school one day. You are a true inspiration! I am making your sweet potato pies right now! Thank you and many blessings!
I come back every year to watch this video as a refresher, for thanksgiving. I just add red and green bell peppers, cream of chicken and use mostly jiffy mix (I love sweet dressing) ... have the family going crazy over it. 😝
I absolutely love your videos!! I made this recipe this year and it is the most flavorful best dressing I have ever made!! You cant go wrong with any of your recipes. And I love your step by step directions! They are fail proof. Thank you!!!
Thank you! Thank you! I muddle through making my dressing each year. Sometimes it works, most times it's dry. I plan to follow your recipe and maybe I will have a winner that my family will love. You are the best at describing how to make these recipes. Bless you!
I love it. Thank you so much Chris. I just started following and watching a lot of different pages and I like yours because you not only show us the ingredients, you are quick with instructions and you also show us how the food is supposed to look at the end. I'm 54 years old and I was never able to learn how to cook with my grandparents or my mom. But I've been the cook in the family because I watched my mom cook from afar off, standing i the hallway.🤣 Don't get me wrong, I DO know how to cook but a lot I was self taught or used recipes. It's such a joy to watch your page because there are things that I was never able to learn and I feel like I'm in my Grandma's Kitchen learning how to cook even better than I do already! Thank you Jesus for Y.O.U.
I'm super picky when it comes to dressing and the way you just dud it is exactly how I'm used to it looking when its done( moist and not green in color from too much sage). The only thing is, I do use bell peppers cut up really small with the celery and onions. I've never had it with carnation milk.. I'm willing to try it though
Hi Ms. Chris i found your channel about 2 years ago. My mom use to make the best cornbread dressing and i still follow her recipe. This year i made one recupera change and all I can say is Ms. Chris you done changed my life. In your recipe you baked chicken thighs sesioned, them, covered with aluminum foil (no water added) i added chicken broth and 1 stick of butter and baked them in the oven on low heat until done. I poured all my chicken jueces and droppings in a sealed glass container and kept it in the fridge for 3 days. When i added all that chicken drippings to my cornbread and baked my dressing in the oven. I tasted a little and all i can say is HOT DAM!! This is the best dressing I have ever eaten. Ms. Chris i had planned to freeze half of for my Christmas dinner we unfinished it all. Breakfast and lunch we ate dressing. I will be making it again for Christmas 2021. You are the best. Nobody can touch you. your Banana pudding recipe has changed the game. You are so right using half and half gives the pudding a richer tate. I frost my banna pudding with homemade whipping cream. Thank you for taking the time to creaste such great recipe. I love your down home personality. Glen
me too Ed, I also use a can of either cream of celery soup or cream of mushroom. So the cream of chicken and the cream of celery or mushroom really makes it moist and wonderfully savory. I haven't seen too many on fb even mention that. Seems like we came from similar Great cooking mamas! lol
Chris, I just wanted to let you know how much I love your channel. You cook just like my mama did so it brings back wonderful memories of being in the kitchen with her as I was growing up and learning to cook. I was born and raised in the South so most all of the good times took place around the big table in the kitchen. I always loved the food at family night dinners, decoration day and homecoming at church. Now you know why most Southern preachers are chubby. LOL
I had made this for my Thanksgiving dinner and it was DELICIOUS 😋. Everyone really enjoyed it, I will be making another pan for Christmas 🎄🥰. Guys, you must try this recipe it’s the best I have ever made. Ms. Chris you’re the BEST old school cook EVER!!!! I have said this with the upmost respect to you. 🥰🥰😋😋🥰🥰
Chris, I get so excited watching you cook! I've told you before, you cook just like my mother cooked! You are not just a wonderful cook, but you teach people how to cook, and I love it! It's one thing to tell someone how to cook a recipe but to show they is another thing.
This is basically how I make my dressing, but I do not add Stove Top. I like to add some sauteed red and green peppers, with the onion and celery at Christmas time, it has the look of Christmas!
I'm New to your channel, I'm loving this!! You are so thorough, My husband is a Pastor and when we have friends and family over I have (secretly) heard that my dressing is not up to par, I am going to try yours, PRAY FOR ME😇
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video. It was in my recommendations so I took it as a sign to make it this way. I also downloaded it to watch it later. Looks delicious! Edited to add: this was the most delicious and moist dressing I’ve had. Will be making it like this for now on. Thank you again! 😋
This look DELICIOUS! I love how you took it step by step. I make mine the exact same way except I use regular cornbread, cream of chicken soup and chopped up chicken. I never thought to add milk and season the cornbread. Thanks for the tip. Great video.
Ms Chris have you ever used fresh turkey tails to make your broth for your dressing? I boil the tails with onion & garlic powder, onion soup mix, Tony Cachere Cajun seasoning, sage and poultry seasoning, chunks of the following green peppers, celery and onion for flavor. The turkey tails release enough flavorful fat that will eliminate having to add cooking oil to your dressing. I also use my mini chopper to finely chop my peppers, onions and celery which sort of purees them and I add that and additional seasoning to my cornbread mix BEFORE baking. After baking the cornbread I strain the veggies off the turkey tail broth and mix the broth into the cornbread to make my dressing. I don't use any additional bread or toast nor the Stove Top stuffing bc I have hypertension and it contains much too much sodium for me.
Ms. Chris, Ms. Chris, I love your videos! You feel like family..... I made this recipe last Thanksgiving and it was amazing! I had someone ask me the difference between dressing and stuffing. So I researched and found out dressing is a slave tradition brought from Africa. Imagine my amazement!!! When you told me to save the old cornbread I almost cried. I felt so honored last Thanksgiving as I carried on my heritage. You brought me full circle. I felt like I was cooking in the kitchen with my auntie and she was passing down a family tradition......I can't thank you enough.
What cornmeal mix did you use? I have the jiffy but I don’t know what hat the other thing is. I have the aunt jemima yellow corn meal too but I’m not sure if that’s it

Let me start by saying thank you for teaching me how to make homemade dressing. After the elders in my family started getting old and transitioning, most of them took their recipes with them. You're the reason my family's face lights up at the dinner table. God bless you always . Happy holidays to you and yours. Christmas 2023.
Thank you so much!! I made this for thanksgiving and had to make another pan because my husband loved it lol can’t wait for my family to try this tomorrow
Wow thank you, I normally add all the dry ingredients after the cornbread is done, never thought to add it in the cornbread before baking. I also never heard of adding evaporated milk. I'm definitely going to try this. Thank you and Happy holidays!
I just made the BEST dressing I've ever tasted, thanks to you, Chris! I added one bell pepper and 3 spoonfuls of giblets and giblet stock (in addition to the chicken stock made per your instructions + store-bought). I also added hard boiled eggs in addition to your 2 raw eggs. I am grateful for the "what this should look like" part of your video. That made all the difference. I can't wait to serve it tomorrow on Thanksgiving! Thank you!!!!
Thanks again and again Chris for this flavorful and unforgettable dressing. I confess I made just the seasoned cornbread alone for a gathering and was asked to please bring it every time and that was just the cornbread alone I was so proud and I did give you props Ms. Chris..
Fantastic! Right on point. I’m glad you’re making your own seasonings. Lipton should have offered you a deal long ago. Now since they didn’t they got some hot competition on their hands. I know I’ll buy Chris onion soup mix from now on. Can’t wait till it comes on the market. 😊

This is how my grandmother and my mother and I assume my great-grandmother made their stuffing. The only difference is it wasn't cornbread stuffing but I adore cornbread stuffing dressing whatever you want to call it. It's just Good eats to me! :-)
Hi Chris, I have to tell you that I took your advice and added all of my dressing seasoning to my cornbread prior to baking it. I used about a 1.5 Tablespoons of each of my seasonings. You were so right the cornbread came out awesome as did the dressing. I added just a dash more seasoning to the dressing and it was perfect. I also added one package of the Stove Top stuffing for turkey to my dressing and it made all the difference in the world. I added my boiled eggs as it has been a tradition in my family for as long as I remember. Sometimes you gotta stick with the way Momma did it.Tha nk you so much for making my 2021 dressing a success.

I know that this video is a few years old but I never get tired of learning and perfecting my dishes! Please tell me how I can get your seasonings and your cookbooks! You are a blessing to us all. May GOD continue to keep you and your family in his LOVING ARMS!
I’m so glad you posted this cornbread dressing because I’m tired of seeing people claim they are making Home made with cream of all these soups... which has a large amount of sodium. I love your channel. Thanks for sharing with us🙏🏾😊
I wanted to say thank you for the video. This was my first year making Thanksgiving dinner for my husband, in laws and, his siblings.
They were amazed by its rich flavor and moistness.
Not to mention I assembled it a day in advance to help relieve stress off of me for having a baby a week ago.
You are incredible and a life saver. God bless
Destiny Balderas Wow, that’s amazing in itself after just having a baby. Glad I could help. Hope y’all are all doing good.😃
I love this! You are so amazing! You're like the Mom I never had. I wish I had someone to teach me these things growing up, but I have been teaching myself how to do everything since I started living on my own at 15. I've done pretty ok, but my food as been a lot better since I started watching you. Thank you, Ma'am!
It might be more work to make your own dressing but the taste is 100% better than anything a person could purchase. Thank you for sharing your recipes with all of us and all the little extra hints that make your recipes exceptional.
OMG, I did your Seasoned cornbread for my dressing and my family loved it. Thank you for sharing your secrets.
Chris??
ARBear Arkansas Awwwww, so sweet.
The best dressing recipe on the internet hands done
LOL, thought I was the only one to use jiffy, I do 1/2 box and it does wake up the flavor. Funny thing is, if u don't tell anyone, they rave and ask ur secret and if u tell, their psyche takes over then they judge...I never tell and some cooks don't realize a little sugar wakes up the flavor of food as well as cheese does in some of my secret dishes... Thanks Chris
Chris has the right attitude. She isn't selfish with her secrets to good cooking. Someone shared their recipe and secrets with you. Now aren't you ashamed of yourself? yourself
Mrs. Chris...my family loves this recipe. I started making this 2 years ago. I have shared it with friends, clients, and family and they are making it and loving it too. Anyone in need I send them your way!! Thank you for sharing this with us. I am eternally grateful for you.
I made this last year for my family.
Best dressing and full of flavor. My husband and kids say it's the best ever❗️👍🏽 I will definitely be making it again this year❗️
Thank you so much for sharing‼️
And also thank you for being so detailed.
I love your channel ❤️
Ms. Chris, you are my shero! I lost my grandma many years ago and alot of your dishes are made like she made them. Unfortunately, I didn't have any of her recipes on hand...then came you. I have made so many of your dishes and I can't thank you enough because people think I'm a great cook but they don't know my truth...You! Keep making videos and I'll keep cooking Ms. Chris style! Thanks again from my heart.
Here I am, back on Ms. Chris's channel to guide me on my dressing. You're the best Ms. Chris! I appreciate all of your wisdom that you share with us!❤❤
Instead of can milk, I use cream of chicken. But the rest of the ingredients is what I use already. You are an amazing cook!
Mrs.Chris I want to let you know you are APPRECIATED .You take time out your LIFE to share cooking ideas with the world.I THANK YOU.I am fifty years old and I feel I am a good cook but I have learned a lot from watching you.Don't get upset when people say nasty and mean things because they are unhappy with themselves they try to bring others down..YOU ARE GOD SENT ...KEEP MAKING YOUR VIDEOS...TRUST YOU ARE HELPING MANY MANY PEOPLE And the devil is bond to show up young ppl today call them haters....The old folk (like me) call them what they are the DEVIL.STAY BLESS MS.CHRIS NO WEAPON FORM AGAINST YOU SHALL PROSPER....

Love the way you explain the step by step process. Stay Blessed and keep cookin!
I pull white yuggy stuff on my my eggs before adding to bread, cakes,Mac cheese can't stand
This makes me feel like I'm in the kitchen with my mom!! Appreciate you so much❤
I like how you added the Stove Top stuffing and the Jiffy corn muffin mix to your corn bread stuffing. Those are family favorites to give a little more flavor. I liked how you said too much sage makes it a green color and the poultry seasoning makes it more brown color. It looks so good!
All in favor of going to Mrs. Chris house for Thanksgiving say I 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

When is it going to start
I come back every year to watch this video as a refresher, for thanksgiving. I just add red and green bell peppers, cream of chicken and use mostly jiffy mix (I love sweet dressing) ... have the family going crazy over it. 😝
Mrs. Chris, you are an AMAZING cook! Your instructions are very thorough and they remind me of my days in the classroom ! Thank you so very much!
Bless you!
i have never heard of using Carnation in my dressing before, but I can't wait to try it! Thank you for the video's you post. Love your style!
Glen
I also add a can of cream of chicken soup to make it moist.
me too Ed, I also use a can of either cream of celery soup or cream of mushroom. So the cream of chicken and the cream of celery or mushroom really makes it moist and wonderfully savory. I haven't seen too many on fb even mention that. Seems like we came from similar Great cooking mamas! lol
Edna Chambers so do I!
This is FANTASTIC
I also use cream of celery or cream of chicken for moisture instead of the milk it makes a big different

Ms Jaglady so the milk didn’t make it too sweet ?
Chris, I get so excited watching you cook! I've told you before, you cook just like my mother cooked! You are not just a wonderful cook, but you teach people how to cook, and I love it! It's one thing to tell someone how to cook a recipe but to show they is another thing.
This is basically how I make my dressing, but I do not add Stove Top. I like to add some sauteed red and green peppers, with the onion and celery at Christmas time, it has the look of Christmas!
I dunno bout yall , i swear once she was saute them onions celery i could smell it thru my phone. This looks amazing 😉
Wutsinyourcup 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I swear I smelled the same😂
LOL !!!
Thank you, very much for passing down some heritage. So we can do it too!

I'm New to your channel, I'm loving this!! You are so thorough, My husband is a Pastor and when we have friends and family over I have (secretly) heard that my dressing is not up to par, I am going to try yours, PRAY FOR ME😇
Tell them to bring the dressing then surprise them with Ms. Chris dressing recipe. Lol
That dressing looks so good I would eat that all the time. I'm straight up no chaser cooking that for dinner on Sunday... GOD IS GOOD 🙏
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video.
You cook like my grandmother & Aunt who’ve both passed away. They taught me a lot but this brought back such memories!!! Thank you!!!😊
Ms Chris have you ever used fresh turkey tails to make your broth for your dressing?
Getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas 2018. Thanks Ms. Chris!
Ms.
I made it again yesterday! SO AMAZING
Omg i made this and lawwwwd have mercy.... I woke up to get ready for work and the pan was gone!!!!!
😂😂😂
What cornmeal mix did you use? I have the jiffy but I don’t know what hat the other thing is. I have the aunt jemima yellow corn meal too but I’m not sure if that’s it

I must tell you my kids love my dressing but I followed your way and it far exceeded mine. I was very anxious about the carnation milk but its was the best dressing ever. Will rewrite my recipe to leave for my kids thank you

I made your dressing last year and my family raved!!! It also reminds me of my sweet departed grandmothers dressing. Can't wait to make it in 2 weeks!!
This was theeeee far hands down the best dressing video I have seen and trust I have been watching them! They way you explained every detail and the reason as to WHY! Just fantastic. I only wish I could taste your dressing! I know it's everything. You def understand the assignment bravo! AA+++
Let me start by saying thank you for teaching me how to make homemade dressing. After the elders in my family started getting old and transitioning, most of them took their recipes with them. You explained everything so thoroughly my dressing is now the talk of the family . I've been assigned to making dressing for every holiday now.
The dressing looked just like my Mother's thanks for the recipe❤
I just made the BEST dressing I've ever tasted, thanks to you, Chris! I added one bell pepper and 3 spoonfuls of giblets and giblet stock (in addition to the chicken stock made per your instructions + store-bought). I also added hard boiled eggs in addition to your 2 raw eggs. I am grateful for the "what this should look like" part of your video. That made all the difference. I can't wait to serve it tomorrow on Thanksgiving! Thank you!!!!
I add a can of cream of chicken soup. Sautee my celery and onions add a box of stove top stuffing
Yess maam
My aunt uses cream of chicken also.
Chris when are we going to be blessed with my also favorite onion soup mix. I am ready for yours where will we get it. Can't wait. You are one special lady. Ty.

I made this today for thanksgiving tomorrow and when I tell you this has to be the best dressing I have tasted ever. I followed the direction get verbatim and it turned out good. I’m only 22 years old
You go girl. I just started following Ms Chris and I'm in my 50's and I can cook, no matter how old you are you can learn something better Chris has helped me tweak some things I didn't know needed to be tweak and I am so much better for it. Girl stay in this master class of southern cooking and and pass it on to your family. 🤗
You know your cooking when those hands get involved in the mixing. Yes, yes. This 2019 Thanksgiving this will be me.
Mrs. Chris I just want to say thank you for posting your videos and recipes, omg I just followed your recipes for dressing, peach cobbler ,chitterlings ,greens and banana pudding, when I tell you every last dish came out awesome and my family enjoyed every bit of it. This Thanksgiving your videos are one of the things I'm thankful for. I'm going to do the caramel cake recipe for Christmas. Happy holidays and God Bless you and your family.
