LOL! So many blind Filipinos here defending Mori as the Filipino pride singer. Don't get me wrong, I like Morisette's singing too. I admit she has a very great quality as a singer, but So Hyang nailed it in this comparison. Look at all these comments. Most comments saying Mori is better are only from Filipinos. Mori depends so much on her falsetto and whistle voice to reach that high note. So Hyang belt it full power. In sports car comparison, Mori is like the type of car who would win in a straight line, while So Hyang is like the car who would win the race track that requires not only speed, but precision and maneuver.

Between Morisette and Sohyang: Morisette's version are combination of God's gift voice (acuracy/on point), mastered talent and exact emotions with thickness of voice - beautiful. While sohyang's version(s)- are Combination God's gift (mostly because she has already given high notes even on talking, - 'her speaking voice'), and also of her high skill levels too, although she has thinner voice. Of course it's also a wonderful talent. Merry Christmas to all..Peace between God, and us..
Again for me, no need for Sohyang for making technique while singing. It just happens that she was given a high note even when she's just only speaking. Mori has the more what you call "technique" because she's not having a natural high notes at speaking..and Mori do not have crisp voice as Sohyang's but, Mori's voice is thicker even on high notes unlike Sohyang's thin voice at all note! My final opinion is, singers don't need to be in the same sound, otherwise, it will be boring for the world! But, technically, emotionally, and with excellent wide range from low to high - she is an exceptionally all-around beautiful singer! Hope we got it all. Merry Christmas, Peace on earth, Godly peace.

It's not just about being able to belt out and sustain high notes. Morissette's upper and lower register sounds less forced, got more warmth and color to it. Sohyang's voice except in falsetto/head voice is thinner, it sounds a little bit screechy and nasal to me. Also her tone is not as beautiful as Morissette in my opinion. I don't mean by this that Sohyang isn't a world class singer. She is amazing and her performance "bridge over troubled water" gave me chills. But if I have to compare them from my own preference, i would pick Morissette's rendition.
