Was fortunate to see joe pizullo sing this live in a mall here in the philippines back in the 2000s. When he got to that very high note, people just erupted in huge applause and screams, i thought the roof will fall off

Can we talk about those guys in rhythm section? Behind a great song were great musicians. The groove master Jeff Porcaro on drums. The drummer we hear on many 80s songs but few only knows. Those fills added the emotion and tension of the song. Nathan East on bass. It's a TOTO feels.

It's Joe Pizzulo singing, not Sergio Mendes himself. Even in the song "Never Gonna Let You Go" - it's Joe. All good credits go to Sergio Mendes, though. I find it quite "unfair". Just my two cents. .... 😊

It was also played on my other childhood radio stations 90.7 Love Radio, 96.3 WRock, and Mellow Touch 94.7, whose competition at that time was on the Easy Listening genre when Campus Radio 97.1 WLS FM entered the picture in October 1995. Campus Radio 97.1 WLS FM was the #1 Easy Listening Radio Station in Metro Manila way back in 1996, the year MariMar scored an upset win in the Primetime Ratings
