    Dude sweet video I have a 01 silver double cab and a 99 extra cab my 99 sits on dana 60's and is a full rock crawler but aint finished yet. I just bought the 01 double cab and so far lifted it 2.5 inches and put the BFG KM2 255/85r16 on the steel spare tire rims, All Pro's rear bumper and sliders soon to get their new apex frount bumper and the best mod so far would be doin the grey wire mod for the rear locker so it can be turned on in any gear. great vid keep them coming.

      @JoeJ-8282 Před 4 lety

      @@gsfbffxpdhhdf7043 Yeah, I agree, that would've worked even better for that truck, but fully modifying a truck's gear train is much more difficult, time consuming, AND expensive, (IF aftermarket parts are even available to mod it in the first place), so that's probably why the driver opted instead for the supercharger... However, having the supercharger on there is going to also put more strain and faster wear on all of the (probably mostly stock) driveline components, causing them to wear out faster, so the driver of that truck is gonna pay for the added performance in one way or another, whether up front costs OR down the road in increased maintenance and repairs!

      Dont worry with superchargers, since they dont hook up directly to the intake/exhaust like turbos. You should be fine

    • @cosmomotors101
      @cosmomotors101 Před 9 lety

      Icebox56 I know a supercharger creates boost from a pulley vs a turbo creating boost from the exhaust but I'm still confused as to how it's safer? Can you give some specifics?

    • @icebox567
      @icebox567 Před 9 lety +1

      With a supercharger, you just need to mount it and integrate it into the engine pulley with a longer band (forgot what its called). You could probably install a supercharger with some friends help and some research. Plus, most come with instructions. With a turbo kit, you will have to cut up your exhaust and intake to install it. I would recommend that a turbo only be installed by a professional, because it could cause some serious damage to your car if you don't do it right. Turbo kits may or may not come with instructions either.

    What size tires are those? Im getting a 3 inch lift soon and it was suggested to get bigger tires cause it would look weird. Currently running 265/70/16

    • @icebox567
      @icebox567 Před 9 lety +1

      For a 3 inch lift I would recommend you get 33X12.5XR-15 on 15X8 rims with 4" or less backspacing

    • @icebox567

      @NOLAItsNotOva Před 9 lety

      I'm running 16" stock rims. And will I have to do trimming to make the 33's fit?

    • @cosmomotors101
      @cosmomotors101 Před 9 lety +1

      +NOLAItsNotOva If you are planning a 3″ lift, you will need to consider either a new set of wheels or some wheel spacers. The fact is that there aren’t a lot of common tire sizes that take advantage of your lift and still fit the stock rims.
      So no a 33x12.5 15 or 16" stock wheel won't fit, wear, or ride well. Not to mention, it looks rediculous.
      After-market rims designed for the Tacoma allow you to increase the width as larger as 315mm (or about 12.5″). However, if you do go this large be prepared to do some trimming of the fenders and wheel wells due to tires rubbing. This also applies to 1.5″ wheel spacers, so stick to a 33x10.5 16 or go with a metric equivalent.
      A common Tacoma tire width for 3″ lift kits is 285mm. This means for 17″ wheels, 285/70 R17’s are a good choice (2″ taller and .8″ wider than factory). For 16″ wheels, 285/75 R16’s have similar dimensions as the 17″ wheels do. A little smaller than a 33" tire but, you'll get better pickup and power climbing hills, better tire wear, fuel mileage, wear and tear on drive train and suspension is decreased and, depending on brand and style that tire size may be a little cheaper.

    • @NOLAItsNotOva
      @NOLAItsNotOva Před 9 lety

      Videos So no matter what, I'll still have to trim my fenders and wheel wells? There's no backspacing number that can prevent that? I don't off-roads as its only a 2wd so the suspension won't be flexing a lot
